    This is a fabulous product. I highly recommend this for wilderness carry in BC. Way more comfortable and practical than hip mount. Top notch craftsmanship. Buy from this smith with confidence.Cheyne

    After seeing this and viewing your website, my sub has been earned and I will order that mares leg saddle one day in the future once I save up for a side purchase like that.

    That's a fine looking shoulder rig Sir. If I could suggest one small improvement it would be to attach a strap or short section of belt vertically on the back of the holster then stitch it in places to form a bunch of belt-loops. That way someone could put the leg strap at whatever height works best for them (or horror of aesthetic horrors lol, substitute a wide, synthetic leg strap that grips and stretches). Maybe you could use the shoulder rig WITH a belt too. Those Mare's Legs have some heft!

      Hello Tim, thank you for watching our videos and for your feedback. We tried the loop system you're talking about on our prototypes during design but we found holes to be more useful. That is why there are a series of holes punched on the back side of the holster unit. We also offer a leg strap with buckle, 3/4" standard but can be made wider if requested. FYI we have made some improvements to this shoulder rig including quick-release buckles and we do offer an attachment piece to convert the shoulder rig to wear on one's belt. Stay tuned for an updated video in the near future (please subscribe to our channel if you haven't done so yet). Thanks for your input, it's always appreciated.

    I love it! but from experience, you will need to wear it much LOWER on the hip. You notice he didn't draw from a standing position.

      Thanks for watching @Ed Ward, as Mark said 2:09 minutes into the video, you can adjust the harness to wear the holster up and down to your liking. (This shoulder rig wasn't adjusted for Mark but for our client). Also as Mark was showing in the video you can even draw it from the kneeling position, because, our holster has a slotted cut-out in the front, so one doesn’t have to draw the barrel as high than with a standard holster or scabard
      Check out this video where you see Mark draw the gun from a standing position: ruclips.net/video/t-JzrfW_QL4/видео.html

    That’s freakin awesome better off with that then a regular holster cuz 2ft long of a gun is still a lil much to not move as well!

    Very nice rig, but I will never get why someone would carry a mares leg. A double action .44 mag or a Glock 20 would be far superior in the weight for firepower ratio.

    • @Beavermountainworks
      @Beavermountainworks  6 лет назад +10

      Most definitely, a handgun would be easier to carry and more versatile in the bush. The Clock 21 would be more firepower than a 20. And I think a double action 357mag like a S&W 686 is also a good bush gun. But then we live in Canada and to get a permit to carry a handgun in the bush is very rare. They made it here a few years ago that you can only load a handgun at an approved range, not even on your own land. So a Mare's Leg is legal with only a non-restricted PAL (Possession and Acquisition License) to carry in the bush and that's why.
