Shooting this Meyers leg will put you in that mindset and even take you there mentally, what a pleasure!! Shooting a classic operating system of a firearm is always a treat!
I currently have a Mare's Leg in 22LR. It's a total blast to shoot. And right now, 22LR ammo is reasonable enough, comparatively speaking. I've been wanting a 357 Mare's Leg for a good while now, but never could find one at a reasonable price... until *TODAY!* Today was my lucky day. As was said, they are truly beautiful pieces of work, and put together masterfully. Unfortunately, in my neck of the woods, a couple boxes of 357 Magnums will run me about the same price as the gun.😥 But there's just something special about a lever action rifle, and there's something extremely special about a lever action Henry Mare's Leg!
"Thumbs way up" from this Kentucky boy.👍
We was just in Georgetown Kentucky camping (Gene and wife). Stopped by Bud’s Gun Shop. I have what some call a love affair with Henry anything. Love them!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I found your video because I had been looking at the mare’s leg in a 357 magnum. I’ve been contemplating buying one and wanted to see the video for your reaction. Thanks a lot, now I got to go buy one because your reaction was priceless. I too believe in the made in America 🇺🇸 by American 🇺🇸 workers. I have always wanted a Henry Rifle and when I was looking through the catalog I came across the Mare’s rifles/pistols. I no longer want a rifle or at least not first on my list of Henry Rifles anymore. I am now going to by the Henry Mare 357/38 magnum first before buying any other firearm. I was distracted during the middle and end of the video but I will go back and watch it. What I was going to say was that the old western tv show called “Wanted Dead or Alive” which stared Steve McQueen. Some people say that it was this western series that made him famous and got him some of the movies and stuff that he did. Another story for another time. I have been told though that it was that series that made the Mare pistols famous because that is what he carried in the series. I have seen the series and the gun that he used but I am not sure of the caliber and brand name that it was in the series. Anyway just food for thought and I enjoyed the first part of your video. So now it’s time to watch the second part or probably just start over from the beginning. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas on this particular gun. I can’t wait to get mine. Thanks again. I just saw on Facebook that you are located in Charlotte NC. My brother lives in Concord NC. So basically you are neighbors lol. I am going to forward him your link. He owns a few and he loves going to the range to shoot. He is also like me we both grew up going to a Christian Church here in Indiana. Great getting to meet you guys and I wish you both all the best. My brothers name is Mike if you ever see him on here.
Sweet thanks for sharing. We actually live in a town about 30 minutes west of Charlotte called Cherryville. Very familiar with Concord we go there frequently. We did grow up in church, but more important than that is that everyone accepts Christ as their savior and spends eternity in heaven with a glorified body and a mansion. I love that series, Wanted Dead or Alive. I have it on DVD. Funny thing - ole Josh Randall's Mares Leg was a 45 Long Colt, but he wore 45/70's on his belt because the director(s) thought it looked better. I'd hate to shoot a Mares Leg in 45/70. I place that small "stock" on my cheek when I shoot, and I like my teeth!
Have you gotten yours yet
Do you think you guys were short stroking the action because of the big loop? I did a form 1 on mine. Us a very cool as an sbr.
Maybe at first but once we got used to it we got the hang of it and made those needed adjustments. Heck yeah!
Your close to getting those 15 million comments.
Whatcha mean
@@GSquaredTactical wasn’t it 15 million comments and he would give you the mares leg?
@@GSquaredTactical I’m rooting for you!
Lol
Very nice piece. I love all lever action rifle's and have a few of every make. I own 7 Henry rifle's but all long guns. I'm gonna get 4 or 5 more Henry's in the long guns if God allows me to but since I don't own any mare's legs I'm thinking now I'm gonna have to add a couple of them to my collection. I enjoyed the video and subscribed so please keep these videos coming because you two did a wonderful job on this video and surely hope y'all post more because I'm surely gonna be a faithful follower.
Thank you so much love to see someone say God willing. One of my favorite guns is my single shot break action 12 gauge Henry and that’s saying something considering at at some point I’ve had nearly 150 guns. Love everything Henry does. I wish I could attach pictures you’d love my 410 Axe. Thanks for watching. Go to our Facebook at gsquared Tactical and the Henry’s are on there.

It may not be tacticool but it is cool. 😊

Hello, I know this is an old video, but I'm considering this for a camping gun for protection (people and predators) My thoughts are that this, being smaller, is more packable and easier to carry than the full size rifle, but more manageable under stress than a handgun. I'm no expert, so any thoughts would be appreciated.
Not being able to shoulder it doesn’t really make it quicker or easier to acquire a sight picture. Me personally I would prefer a revolver or a 10mm platform for quicker follow ups if need be. This was more of a novelty for me.
I put the full stock on mine, and I choose 357 because ammo is cheaper than 44, and the ballistics are very close. this gun is replacing my handgun, cause I'm tired of all the bullshit, and this is considered not restricted in Canada.
@davetrotter258 sweet .357 will certainly get the job done my friend. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I have the same one but haven't shot it yet how is the recoil and best way to hold it
Recoil is almost nonexistent and I hold it out away from me much like a would a pistol. We have another video up on it. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

Just about as unprofessional a video I’ve ever see, wuit behaving like a 10 year old with a gun
Okay move along watch something else then. You are probably one of those who want to see some jacked, tatted up, reconning meat head doing a video being a gun snob. If you don’t care to watch someone having a good time at the range like 95% of people do then move on no need for your degrading comments
Nice gun
