The adorable and very smart little Miss Buggy always steals the show!! And I have also enjoyed watching the rest of your smart family drive through all 50? 48 states looking for your homestead which you finally found located only 40 minutes +- from our farm. And since you are so close...and since Nate and Katie have moved to their dream farm...it leaves an opportunity here. And whether proper or not...this format is the only way I know to contact you, Ben, and welcome you to come see if our deep fertile top soil, abundant grass, tractor, saw mill, etc can be used to help you and family increase your productivity!! What say?? beautiful people? Hoping for your reply...Ben...from the Forever Young...Mr Wayne P.S. So very heart warming was the scene at the end with family gathered around the kitchen table forming a hand held circle of love with bowed heads giving thanks for probably much more than the evening meal! Thank You
The night chicken moving was awesome to watch! And Meg, you always pair the perfect song with your footage. As always, I just LOVE your content, and thanks for letting us watch!
Started tomato’s , peppers and eggplant yesterday. Can’t wait for growing season. I’ve missed my garden. Also, have to tell you I’m loving the almost daily videos. Thanks for all your work.
You guy’s rock, love watching all your videos and learn a lot. The boy’s are great helpers and learning so much. Love you all and love watching buggy cook with you.
I have been subscribed since you lived in california. From what I see to holler boys will grow to be very good men. They have two very good examples. Keep up the good work love the channel.
Your older boys are young men. It's amazing how they turn that corner so fast. Now they feel more like they can help. Time doesn't march on, it sprints on. Blessings to your family.
My friend, you need a small tractor right away to pull all that stuff or soon you’ll find you need a small tractor and a new lawnmower because you’ve worn it out! Duck when you hear an exploding potato. I guess the skin makes a perfect balloon. Your cooking never ceases to amaze me! I love your videos
We all get a "Warning" every now and then! We ALL forget now and then too! The warning is, "If you don't REMEMBER, you'll have to Clean it UP"! What a Hoot Meg! Been there, done that! It keeps us on our toes for awhile! GOD bless
Good for you Meg - you're keeping this sourdough alive and feeding your family too! Yeah! I had one starter for about 8 years and it was a blessing with growing children.
@@LadysFarm Thanks! We named him Pheonix because he kept rising from the dead while I was learning about sourdough! Current sourdough is Mr. Bubbles and he's about three years old ...
A scrub with vinegar and baking soda should dissolve that potato goo pretty easy. I like to keep a sprayer of vinegar and water around for this sort of job. In this case, I'd made a sort of bath of it with some water in a bucket and apply with a cloth then leet it set for a bit and wipe it away. Thanks for conducting this research! I had no idea that could happen.
You only forget to puncture your baked potatoes - ONCE! 😇. Beautiful bread! Glad your cow is happy again. How many trays of tomatoes do you need? the answer is.... More than you think! Good choice with Mortgage Lifter! For 2022, I have six of the 162 trays. We will plant the best 730 plants. Yes, we intend to do a LOT of canning this year! Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 3/11/2022.
So sad your baked potato exploded Meg! What a mess. Darn. The sourdough bread looks wonderful. The cow looked much happier in her new plot of grass. That looked hard to do with the wet grass and dirt outside making it hard to pull the shelter over to the new pasture. Dinner looked yummy! Chicken move in the dark. I'm glad one of the boys helped. Thanks for this Hollars!
I loved the construction site- please always have a pile of dirt for the kids. Meg, if you haven't already, you could put a pot of boiling water in oven for 30 minutes to loosen up the potato remains.
Sorry about the potato mishap Meg. I know that was a big mess to clean up. Great video on the stock rotation. Your son is a great helper. Love the dirt tunnel he made. Reminds of the snow tunnel my brother made for me eons ago. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Thank you for doing videos everyday! Your homestead life is a treat to watch. I look forward everyday to watch them. I hope you can continually do them. You are a great family and love your way for life. Chow from Michigan
Ya'll better cover whatever you have growing outside because they're calling for snow tonight in the hills of western North Carolina. Winter ain't over yet. Meg, I'm loving the sourdough bread you have
Ben here is a thought that might help with the chores around your place. You can get two new or used rear tires for the Lawnmower. Drill holes in the tires then place long metal studs in the tires (Studded tires) for Winter use and for muddy days. Plus it will air rate the soil at the same time.
🙋🏼♀️🕊. Stay safe through the snow ❄️ storm Saturday 🕊🦋🍀🕊💕🦋🍀🐞. Lovey family. 🤗🥰. Oh by the way baking soda and peroxide. . Sprinkle the baking soda and spray peroxide over it 🧐in the oven it’ll clean everything right up especially !! the front-glass in the door🤗🤗🐞
North Carolina here too Coastal Starting homestead garden and chickens here. Lotsa fun Few vidz on my channel Love seeing you all. Love your fun laughs and true 👍 smiles! Have fun!!!!!!
Lol Meg, I have so done this! You're doing great on your bread making. I've got fed starter ready to make a loaf in the morning. The smell of baking bread brings me back to my childhood. Mom made bread for our family of ten. Peanut butter on the heal of bread with a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast 😋
We lived in Portugal for several years and pumpkin soup is a staple there. They even serve it at Mc Donald’s. There is no way they would put spicy sausage in it but it sounds great to me. 😀
The exploding potatoe is too funny, except for oven mess. Has happened to me too. Meg should make 2 loaves of bread each day for your big gang. And send leftovers to me . Ha. 💖
Ben you need to show us how you did your axle for the chick shaw! its the only one I've seen that the wheels don't flex on when weight is added to the top!!
Meg...In addition to all of your excellent production/homesteading/child rearing work...your channel has some of the best music choices of the dozens on YT I normally view...so thank you for ALL that ya'll do, be safe and keep on keepin' on👍👀👏🎶🎵🎼🎧🎹🎻🎺🎸🎷
You may already know this trick, and just choose to do one seed in a square, but you can actually germinate up to 10-12 tomato seeds in one cup, then when they are getting their first true leaves, after the cotyledon leaves, you can dump them out, separate them each into their own little cup or whatever. That way, you don't waste a cup or space on a seed that doesn't germinate, and you'll know exactly how many of each type you have by counting how many seeds came up, and plan accordingly. I was amazed at the hardiness of tomato seedlings, AND I learned that from your friend, Jess of R&R, probably 5 years ago. It was the first you tube video I ever watched of her gardening channel! And I've exploded many a potato in the oven, guys, LOL...

Hey Ben, I have a question about potatoes. What do you use for fertilizer? Comfry? Biochar? A video on how to fertilize potatoes and what you use would be great!!!
I worked with an old guy who always said, "AH you can rest when your dead, plan to not ever rest"! but his point was a good work ethic thank you and always be safe ALL
That potato--pretty interesting the way it exploded. I call things like that a "test", so thanks for testing that alternate process/outcome out for us! Potato bread? 😄 Great video! ❤

Meg , that bread 🥖 looks mouth watering!, I’m so enjoying your videos. Hope that they don’t end I’m looking forward to them every day. I will starting my tomato seeds tomorrow. You guys come up with the best ideas 💡!
I grew Amish Paste and San Marzano this past (Winter) garden session here in SWFL, first time growing both. Really really like the Amish paste as can use as a sauce tomato and a slicer. For the next (Spring) garden I have an old variety Egyptian Prince, the seed which a friend from Ohio sent to me. Her father grew these sauce tomatoes.I'll be done with tomatoes by July as it gets too hot for the garden to thrive.
Still about 3 weeks before starting tomatoes and peppers here in 5b. I made the mistake of starting them to early before. Its way easier to carry up and down one tray of smaller tomato plants from the basement for a week of hardening off than 4 trays of bigger tomato plants.
Take it as a positive, you just proved to many of us skeptics that it can happen. I've got many years on you and it never has happened to me... Though I now rarely cook potatoes so... Great story to have to tell..
Used to love to start the seeds, now I just buy them started there's only 2 of us now so I do porch planters. Soup and bread looks delicious. As for exploding potatoes, been there done that and what a mess 🤪. Blessings to all. 😊🇺🇲

Same with lettuce, snapdragons, chard, peppers, onions, brassicas except radishes, and a bunch of random other stuff. big seeds ill keep one a cell
