Great fix, Phil - much appreciated. The guy at the Kubota dealership called the part a fuel pump just so ya know. I also had to replace the stubby hose piece that runs from the pump to the cylinder as it was chewed/eroded down (suspect a squirrel).
Nice quick fix Phil. The 1st line you disconnected is the impulse line for suction created by the crank to move the fuel. Cranking the engine with your thumb over the line you should feel your thumb being sucked down. That verifies that the impulse line is doing its job. It was normal that it didn't start right away after replacing the old impulse fuel pump with the new one. With the engine not being started for a while the fuel retreats back towards the fuel supply. Therefore as you said it takes a bit more engine cranking to build up suction to pull the fuel and prime the pump.
Experiencing this problem now. New fuel filter and impulse pump last September. Sat over winter, now same symptoms again. Thanks for the video. Have a BLESSED Day 🤠🇺🇸
Wait. I'm confused. Why are you cranking the engine to check for fuel flow on your fuel pump inlet? That has no pump to push the fuel out. To check it put the hose below rhe fuel tank to see if it will pour fuel. Gravity will check that issue. And checking for fuel coming out of the vacuum line is another waste of time. You check for vacuum from the hose coming our of the valve cover hose. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but ....
Great advice broke it down very clear and understandable 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!

I hope so !

Nice fix Phil. Awesome light holding Baleigh!
Thanks 👍
Great fix and I like the way you diagnosed the problem
You got a filter clog or the pick up line in the fuel tank is plugged with dirt or grass.
Happy New Year Phil!👍

Good Evening Sir, Very Nice Mechanical Investigation ( A True Law Mower M Colombo 🧐👍👍) Allo Young Lady 🌹😇👍 Cheers 🍻🍻
Howdy Phil 🖐🏼😃
Great video Phil thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
You need 4 things spark fuel air and compression
Why didn't you change the fuel filter too
I had done that this past summer 👍
You can't use gas with alcohol in it on a carburetor engine
It’s hit or miss with my mower on any given day it might start or it might not
I feel your pain 👍
