I do NOT think this was someone’s unit. I THINK THIS was items left at units not completely cleaned and the facility placed them in there in hope someone does the cleaning for em. I hate to see you were maybe a victim of this Moose’s. It’s a gamble. Some places “salt” the units in hope of bids. Another good video Moose.
too many things fit. The smoker stuff in multiple bags. The purse with the lighter, etc... It's a person that suddenly realized that she paid a LOT in storage, compared to the value of the stuff she stored. And just thought .. HECK with it..
Hi Renee another great older video. That first comment was so funny. Next one I need to hear don't take life so serious. I always get up set over the littlest thing 🙄 I hope that watching 👀 these older videos will count on RUclips for you? By the way you are so pretty and sense I been watching your video I haven't watched much of any thing else. Blessings your friend Joyce from California HUGS!!
Well I have heard that storage place owners go in and cherry pick the good stuff and leave the garbage...this is why I never got into these storage auctions...
When I finalised my storage I found a lock on it and the new owners knew nothing about it so I cut it off and when I opened it up there was a considerable amount of the original contents missing which of course the new owners knew nothing.
Those aren't shower capes there for your bowls instead of plastic you put them caps on the bowls lol. 😃 not a tea strain it's for the kitchen sink lol. You've got to get out more lol. 😃😃😃
You look beautiful in that green color at the end. Don't bea to yourself up because THEY just threw away their money storing trash.. it's not on you and you can't change it. You are a sweetheart❤️
Not to be mean, but wouldn't it be kind of funny if the storage unit auctioneer described the unit (without showing it) as follows: "Unit belonged to a smoker who rolls their own, takes medication, gets the munchies at the craziest time and likes to gamble while reading their bible!!" Oh well like you said not very exciting but might get your money back. Maybe even a profit Renee.... depending on how much you can get for the candle and purses at the flea market. Love all your videos girl. All content is great and I always enjoy watching what you find! Take care!
I’m sorry Renee! I’ve come to believe that people are so darn complex! I want to tell you that I got my daughter a storage unit to store her furniture when she left her abusive husband ....in the meantime I got really sick and ended up in the hospital for open-heart surgery. After surgery I was in rehab....long story short.....I forgot about the damn storage unit that was in my name! She assumed I was continuing to pay.... but then I went to my sisters house after rehab and never got the mail
Btw..... I paid off the bill, paid a crew to clean out the storage unit, paid to have the stuff hauled to the municipal waste yard.... spent kazillion for that error in judgement!!!!
I work at a mini storage, we have 325 storage units. People walk away from units all the time . They get tired of paying the fees. Other people move out of state and just leave it. Then you have people who will throw it all in the dumpster. That's where I dive at. I have found some very nice things in the dumpster.😊
You are totally right! I have a cousin who has managed to lose all of her childhood belongings by renting storage units then "forgetting" to pay them, when we were in our late teens/twenties. Now she has a shed at her house stuffed full of stuff instead.
Exactly right Renee. This is a case of someone taking everything they wanted out, leaving the things they don't and then just stop paying. Still a fun video. Love the channel.
Thanks for showing the units and then the actual auction of them, we very seldom get to see this. Thanks again and good luck in future storage unit auctions.
This is why I like to watch you. Real. You have happened upon fantastic stuff in garbage sacks and you are honest when you hit a bit of a dud storage unit. (Although, if you use any of those household items, you made back way more than $10.) If you happen upon a storage unit with a trunk full of gold, I'm gonna believe you.
Just some prices I think would be helpful. Stevia by the small box, about 75 or so packets is $5.00 here. Sink strainer about $2.00. Our dollar stores are often out of them. Aluminum foil about 4.00 a package these days for thin sheet, small packages (just bought some) so if it is unopened score. Bowl covers, not hair shower caps run about $2.30 to 3.00. Cotton balls are running about $2.00 to 4.00 depending on count and if cotton not synthetic. Put a few of your postcards old ones with scenes in the frame. I think that they will fit or the enlarge ones. Nothing special just a theme and sell for 3.00. I haven't gotten thru the entire list yet but this will give you enough info to price at the flea market. Priced correctly you will get your money back at a dollar of two for each item. A box of just stuff, earrings etc at 50 cents another at 25 cents for rummage. When people rummage they see other stuff. ; P. Yes I'm bossy aren't I? Use to sell at fleas too. PS take old pills to the fire stations to dispose of.
These kinds of lockers do make me sad (especially when you find a few random kids’ toys) , but I appreciate the care and sensitivity you express while going through the lockers. Another person mentioned that perhaps this person was living in their car and then got the storage unit when they lost it and had to get their things out quickly (garbage and all). I had another, sadder, thought that perhaps they were using the unit for a temporary shelter ... I thought I saw a name written on the floor in the back, perhaps written by a child? It might explain the apple pie, candy, etc. Sorry, I didn’t want to make this sad, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Your probably so right , they took what they wanted and left the trash and just walked away . No one would have been paying on that unit for that ... they just didn’t want haul that with them , glad you didn’t bid more then what you did . I truly enjoy watching these videos .. love storage lockers .. ❤️
Not a good unit, yet not horrible. That phone looked relatively new and is worth way more than the 10 invested. You got a few flea market items (jewelry, flashlight, lantern and a couple of hand bags). I believe you ended up doing just fine for 10 bucks. Oh and the cooler! Lol. Have a great week Renée and on with the next adventure!! I 💜💙💚
Very Interesting What People Find To Be Valuable Or Worth Keeping!!! People Including Myself Attach My Emotions To Things!! Sometimes A Reminder Of Memories We Do Not Want To Forget!! ❤️
Well that unit was not good. But your attitude was great. I'd say you got your cash back with the cooler. I cringed when you opened the container in the cooler and took a sniff. You are awesome and a real go getter. I'm sure more success will be headed your way. Love your videos. MUCH SUCCESS.
Renee, I read comments because there are a lot of fun answers to your questions and sometimes they are more entertaining than what's in the locker. I always wish you great finds, but the losers make the wining lockers much more interesting. Cheers, Rik Spector
Renee your thought sound on point , one it was not a small unit, they took out all their important things and left the garbage behind😮 i pray you can at least get 50$ from it. You keep going love your style.🥰
Maybe someone was down on their luck and staying there sometimes, hence the portable camping stuff, torch, radio, food, pills, toiletries... and one can only assume what they did with the bio hazard bags in there! Fab vlog. As always Xx
Hello Renee. Well sometimes you have to take a chance. Because you never know what you might find. But it was still fun to watch and see what was there. And you got your money back on the cooler so there’s that . Chin up the Nextel one could make you a great deal .👍👍👍👍👍👍. Stay safe and well and go enjoy a cup of tea ☕️ ☕️☕️☕️☕️💕💕💕💕💕💕🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I’m with you Renee’. I’m baffled too. It would be so interesting to know the stories of why these units were abandoned and why they stored junk. Oh well, it was still interesting to see and at least you have the cooler so you could make your $10 back. I still think it’s great that you do this, though, because as the old saying goes “nothing ventured nothing gained”. 👍🏻
Renee it is what it is don't make yourself crazy trying to figure it out people do silly things for silly reasons you had an experience with this Locker next one will be better.
The unit looked clean especially compared to other junky ones I’ve seen. I agree, it appears it was cleaned out of everything of value. I wish you treasure in all your adventures!
You are so busy, auctions, estate sales, trash picking, busy busy busy! I am sure you will get your money back, and there could have been some treasures in it. Keep junking, Take care, Be safe
Unlike many commenters, I thought this was a pretty decent unit for $10. If you go to a store, they'll charge you $3.99 for a roll of aluminum foil. A skilled reseller could easily get $100 out of a unit like this - the flashlight, cell phone, purses, frames, cigarette machine, cooler.
The foil, cotton balls, and dryer sheets were good household finds. Since they were not opened, I'll just add these to my stockpile and essentially made my $10 back on them.
So sorry about that unit. I think you're right. I think the people came and took what they wanted and left the rest. Better luck next time. Don't give up. ✌️
I know that was a SAD storage locker, but when you put the few good things together. Foil, covers for bowls, Battery lite and a few other things at least you will get your money back. You have to get a few like this to let you know not to over bid on any locker ... Thanks for sharing with us!!
It's nice to see a unit like this. I'm with you, I've watched some of these videos and often wonder why they store actual junk. I don't think they are cheap to store either. I think you're right in that they've already taken what they wanted and left the rubbish for them to sort. It's the only thing that makes sense. Great to watch so thanks for sharing x
Flashlights were nice. I agree with you on the owners of this unit. Cleaned out in advance, but was still fun to watch. You just never know. Cost of a McDonald’s meal.
If I am ever in the market for a vintage McDonald's apple pie, I know where to look! I believe the owners removed stuff before abandoning it because most storage places rent smaller units than that one and there was lots of empty space in the unit. Still fun to watch and the dive-bombing insect added more excitement.
You're definitely going to make your money back on the cooler, but also realize that if you went to the grocery store to buy some of those things it would definitely come out to be more than $10. So this might actually be one of the best buys you could have made.
So I figured it out, while it unassumingly looked to be just an average storage locker with nothing but everyday stuff, hidden inside the Apple Pie were stolen diamonds. Hope you checked inside and didn't throw it out 😉 All kidding aside, proud of you for taking a chance and buying that unit. While there might not have been anything exciting you got content for your channel, you gave us something fun to watch and were able to make your money back. Stay positive and more big scores will surely come.
Buying units is a gamble. You just have to take your chances. Sadly sometimes the owners go through the units before they auction them off. You got a couple of things you could use or take to the flea market. You did good.
I had a friend who had a storage unit because they were homeless, they had a few items but they couldn't carry it around all the time. To me.. it's kind of sad. To a homeless person... any objects they own are precious..
There are also people that live in storage units. When I lived in Tucson there was a man with 2 dogs and 2 cats that lived in a storage unit down the street. The owner let people get away with it. Sadly the place changed owners and the man had to leave and his cats lived near by in a wash. He used to come and feed them. One day he never came back and one of the cats found its way to my house and I kept her, Her ears where damage from frost and she was very old. I had her for about 6 years.
My guess is the person had been working with social services, the non-profit paid for three months of storage and then the person didn't take over payments. The cooler, flashlights, batteries, lantern bulbs are all indicative of someone that is unhoused and the insurance paperwork, and lack of any substantial possessions leads me to believe they were perhaps transitioning from one shelter to another. Oftentimes, people who are without many resources will hold onto things that may not make sense to us who do, but they have their reasons. Don't let it deter you from buying another one, just wait until the auctioneer begs for somebody to buy it for a buck rather than jumping in at $10. Your hair looks adorable!
When my parents died 6 weeks apart in 2014 I rented a unit for a couple months while we dealt with the situation. It took me two months to build a shed and stop paying for rental. Just last month my brother came to take 5 generations of photos from my shed, two tubs full. So the point is that life happens and all of a sudden we humans are being blown around like fall leaves.....
Understand Bill. You spoke truth when you stated that you had to build a shed... people rent units because they do not have the space (one of the reasons) and if they did not have space before to store the items, then how do they have space in a few months? I think that's one of the many reasons why units become "abandoned".
Something tells me you could have got it for 5 but when that guy thought he had that other unit for 5 and the bid went to 15 that really hurt me. YOU GOT YOUR MONEY BACK ON THE PHONE!! The cooler is extra.
Where i live those units would have brought way more... Beware of the managers special unit where they take the leftover junk and pile it into one unit...it happens.
Okay Renee, you have to remember you don't throw away your junk anymore! You could have taken the pie box, candy wrappers, lottery tickets and bio hazard bag etc, glued them to a page with your $10 recite with the date you bought the locker. Wrote "You find the strangest things!!!" on the page and put it in your Junk Journal. A great memory to save...Cyndee
I have seen plenty of these in my buying days, we call them "manager's specials" things left behind by tenants and auctioned to curious buyers, it happens. My advice to people is, buy units that have entire households, meaning kitchen appliances, furniture, lots of boxes, these are usually the units where people have valuables, not just stuff that doesn't fit where they live.
Well, that unit sucked, but......The important thing is, I LOVE your hair! So cute! You are so pretty! I do like to watch you clean out storage units, tho. Just like your trash bags from your favorite house, you tend to imagine the lives of the people who once owned the stuff. I am the same way. An lovely antique pitcher or bowl leads me to imagining the person who bought it over a hundred years ago, who treasured it and handed it down to the next person who also lovingly cared for it, so I could buy it for $2 at a recycle store and also enjoy its beauty and try to keep it as perfectly chip-less as when I bought it. Bless you, Renee. You have a sweet heart.
In some areas landlords can not just throw out or sell the things people leave behind and are required to store them for 1 year. They often use storage facilities for this instead of dealing with it on their own property because the facility give them a receipt and after the 12 months is up the contract is expired. As you can guess some apartments are left full of trash instead of "goods" and the landlords just jam it into the units too forget about it. Usually it shows in the packing.
I thought you were buying the one that sold for $5 at first. That one looked intriguing. I hate that it disappointed you, but you still have a few things you can sell and recoup your investment. Thanks for sharing the good and the not so good. You're keepin' it real, Renee.
Bravo to you for braving the storage unit learning curve! It really is weird what people put in a storage unit. The contents reminds me of a young person. Interesting
Hi Renee, the silver round item is a light. I just bought two for my home for emergencies, it should pop up. But at lease you'll be getting your money back and some items that are new you can sell them at the swap meet.
I think a lot of people that use these units have just gotten out of prison and they are using the storage unit to pull a life back together,,,but for some reason they fall back on hard times and fail to pay,,,,
After watched storage war , I am curious about what the real auction looks like. Interesting! Thanks. Got my question answered: the storage war is just a show 😀
The silver canister looking thing that you took the bottom off of and there was batteries, that is a LED light. You simply pull up on the top end to pull up the lights and turn the light on. The two silver metal arms come together to carry the light. Its a canister light.
Units don't go up for auction at $10 usually. It usually a month's or more behind in rent plus fees. People end up homeless at times and leave their stuff in a unit and "visit" their stuff and hang out for the day if it's an AC inside unit and leave when the facility closes. It depends on the manager on staff. Usually they won't let you hang out all day, they don't want them sleeping in their units.
If you find unused toiletries that you don't want, homeless shelters will use.☺
I do NOT think this was someone’s unit. I THINK THIS was items left at units not completely cleaned and the facility placed them in there in hope someone does the cleaning for em. I hate to see you were maybe a victim of this Moose’s. It’s a gamble. Some places “salt” the units in hope of bids. Another good video Moose.

Renee your hair is adorable. It makes you look so different.
It's still growing out... another odd stage, the sides need to grow!
Thankyou for showing a real unit.
I love it when you get all upset about things that you can not control, don't take life so seriously, relax and enjoy.

Some storage unit places stage lockers and they’re not abandoned at all.
I wondered about that. The items just seemed too random.
Well I have heard that storage place owners go in and cherry pick the good stuff and leave the garbage...this is why I never got into these storage auctions...
Your prolly right I hadn't thought of that.her unit really did looked that way and now just a unit she has too clean it out.

Omg I would watch that show lol
I noticed something priceless in that storage unit,"you" .

Why? Too lazy remove that little bit of stuff?

that goes in your sink or bathtub
to strain hair and food particles

I admire your fortitude not going hog wild with a unit you can't or don't want to handle ! Way to go!
Bonus #1 a few household items. #2 you could fit it all in your car so no need to return to the unit.
That silver thing is a really nice lantern, you pull up the wire handle to open the light ! They are very nice lanterns !
Battery lite worth $ 29.00 “camping “ that you said you didn’t know..

The silver thing with the batteries is a small, very bright lantern. Just raise the handles up then pull straight up. WaLaa!
Yes they are so worth keeping, very bright.I have some used it when Huricane Maria hit ..
I had one too...until my grandkids stole it from me because they are so cute! Lol! The lanterns are cute...the grandkids only sometimes 😄
It was only $10. Nothing lost and nothing gained. No big deal. Thats the fun of the chase 😊 Keep smiling.

Wow! All of that could have fit into the cooler and trash can! The bug was funny! 😄
So I figured it out, while it unassumingly looked to be just an average storage locker with nothing but everyday stuff, hidden inside the Apple Pie were stolen diamonds. Hope you checked inside and didn't throw it out 😉
All kidding aside, proud of you for taking a chance and buying that unit.
That was definitely a Head Shaker...Hope the next one Makes Up for This One. With that said Still Enjoyed the Tag Along !! Thanks Again Miss Renee!!
you had me laughing at the "tea strainer" we buy them for our sinks to stop food going down drain..lol
You could put the progression of the moose and young lady as they walk down the path successively in the picture frames
Just stopping by to say your
hair style is looking adorable ..... that is all .
Be safe , happy and healthy
Renee 😎✌
I really enjoy your take on things.
Love watching your locker buy videos. Don’t be discouraged, you will make it up on the next unit!
I liked that $15 one the best. The renter took out the good stuff before they stopped paying.
Always looking good
There are also people that live in storage units.
I love that you kept the footage of the bug flying in your face! It was funny!
That was my favorite part!
I cleaned out my aunt's house it was over 70years full of stuff it took 5months to do it loads of rubbish in it as well
Solid to air. I lost my parents a few months apart in 2018 and feel the same.
I don't understand why people pay $200-$400 a month for a storage unit and the stuff inside is worth like $20.

At least you got your money's worth in things you can use
Something tells me you could have got it for 5 but when that guy thought he had that other unit for 5 and the bid went to 15 that really hurt me. YOU GOT YOUR MONEY BACK ON THE PHONE!! The cooler is extra.
Where i live those units would have brought way more... Beware of the managers special unit where they take the leftover junk and pile it into one unit...it happens.
I thought perhaps that was the first unit. That unit was large and so much stuff strewn everywhere!
A great memory to save...Cyndee
even when you don't find treasures, its fun to watch you go through the units.
The silver canister shape with handles and batteries in the bottom is a lantern. Pull up on handles and it lights up
I liked this video because of the "pie", that is so funny but my wife saw me watching and likes you in green, keep up the hunt.
great classic Paper and Moose episode with that lanternfly hitting you in the face!👍👍
Hahaha, I actually remember that! Thanks, Buzz!
I like your videos, you have a way of speaking and you are a nice woman, I love you
I thought you were buying the one that sold for $5 at first. That one looked intriguing. I hate that it disappointed you, but you still have a few things you can sell and recoup your investment. Thanks for sharing the good and the not so good. You're keepin' it real, Renee.
The person that bought the first unit said that everything was trash, not one item to resell.
@@PaperandMoose Ugh...well, at least it was only $5. So, You made the right call!
Those reusable bags were nice. As long as they didn’t smell.
Bravo to you for braving the storage unit learning curve! It really is weird what people put in a storage unit. The contents reminds me of a young person. Interesting
just found your page love how u keep it real and no bull
I have family who are not mentally stable and would possibly not comprehend what they are doing when using a storage unit.
Hi Renee, the silver round item is a light. I just bought two for my home for emergencies, it should pop up. But at lease you'll be getting your money back and some items that are new you can sell them at the swap meet.
Yes don’t give up next one will be good 👍
I think a lot of people that use these units have just gotten out of prison and they are using the storage unit to pull a life back together,,,but for some reason they fall back on hard times and fail to pay,,,,
After watched storage war , I am curious about what the real auction looks like.
Chances you make, always fun watching.
