I wasn’t risking public storage banning me for taking a non liened vessel. Before these idiots showed up the manager didn’t know i was gonna roll it in trailer . But after they pointed it out to manager . I wasn’t risking losing my bread and butter company over a $1000 beat up jet ski .
Wow, the fact that the storage business allowed them to come in while you were unloading the stuff is unprofessional and should not have been allowed. That could of gotten really ugly if you didn't handle it the way you did, great job.
It's a setup between the storage company and the previous unit owner, she probably paid management and they told her she can go in and get her stuff after it sold
My rule when I buy a storage unit is, if you show up wanting any of your stuff, leave me your number and anything that's like related to a family members death or birth or wedding, I'll get it to ya, anything other than that, your outta luck. You knew you had a monthly payment and you let it go for awhile. Sorry bout your luck. Call me an asshole if ya want, but it ain't personal, it's just business!!
exactly brotha, they act like they had no clue that they were gonna lose the unit as if the storage facility doesn't reach out multiple times before resorting to this!
If they didn’t pay for their storage then how did they get in? Their combo should’ve been locked to make them go to the main office for payment purposes. But once the storage owner sales the unit the previous tenants shouldn’t have been able to bother you.
Once it's paid for, it no longer belongs to them. I'm not a bad person but nobody takes food out of my familys mouths and everything adds up and helps. They wouldn't have gotten nothing but personal effects and a box to put them in. ⚠️🧟
Exactly! Someone won our unit in Martinez on Arnold Drive. We've had 2 moves since leaving Martinez. 1st was to Nevada and now Texas. Husband has work related injuries. I drove from Nevada to the Martinez storage on Arnold Drive a few times & got freaked out with the mountain driving (very steep!)using a 2 wheel drive truck loaded with stuff. Husband's injuries are too bad to do driving much of the time due to pain so since 2010 to now we diligently paid until this year when unit rate increase along with other costs have become too much. We contacted public storage to close it out, fair and square. It went up for auction as a 'manager's special' with winning bidder getting our 'packed out unit' for $840 on June 10. We let the district manager and the Martinez storage manager know the buyer/s can reach us if they have any questions. Why? Because my husband had a collectible WWII hand un in it's original presentation case with authentication papers, a 100+ year old Smith and Wesson rifle in like new to unused condition and a signed copy of a very old book by William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania with authentication paperwork too worth $6K or more today in 2024. There is older/possibly collectible radio equipment and a Sharper Image plug in Plasma Ball along with many more 1st edition, collectible and rare or out of print books, Harlick professional ice skates, Nordica after ski boots that copies available today on Gorsuch are close to $2000, rollerskates, a new printer, culinary items and more. Whomever won this packed out unit could make north of $25K, so good for you! We hope it helps you and your family! Yes, it's not a happy thing to forfeit 'stuff' we just hope you can sell most of it and that the books and good things don't go to complete waste! The legality of all of this shocks us that people who default think they can just waltz in and confiscate what is no longer theirs but used to fulfill the debt to the storage company without the law stepping in!
State laws differ, and solely due to default of payment they can not sell off all the property unless it's considered a abandoned. the people were there so it's not abandoned, they storage facility only had the right to sell off what they need to make it back.. which they had sold for only a few hundred bucks...so they'll sell you thousands of dollars worth of others people property and leaving them liable as the seller not the buyer. So for you yeah your safe but are you really going to justify and try to make it out to be a noble thing to help rob others for arbitrary fees just because you can get away with it!?... There are a lot of other ways to feed your family! And no your not a bad person just seemingly a cold hearted logistics one that has a false sense of justice when it benefits you! Your taking families life possession and memories, but hey at least your kids ate off of someone else's misery so it's ok right! Is blood money ok too!? 😅like it's not inherently a bad thing but it's kinda pathetic trying to justify it! 😅
Lots of auction items there. COSCO pallet items also. You could see the bidders number on some of them. I do these weekly, estate sales and auctions also, up to 4 a week sometimes. I wouldn’t give them anything until I loaded it up and sorted it out at my shop.
I just put this! 100% boosters / porch pirates. The costume jewelry, perfumes and candles? Those are common stolen items. Young couple with more than 2 of that same items like breast pumps and cricuts? The white boy definitely does bbq with a table pit like that. I’m pretty confident they are boosters which means store thefts
That jetski would've made your money back. I would've told them the same thing the storage facility tells them, pay your bills or it's being auctioned off. I would've taken everything and told them it's no longer theirs. It's fairly yours once it's auctioned. If they wanted it they'd have to pay for it.

From my knowledge if you bought the storage you own the items and what was owed to the storage company is paid off with your purchase. In some states the overage that is received is owed to the previous owners. I say this cause it feels like you were being nice to let them keep the items you purchased however if they also receive the money from the purchase you also gifted them possibly hundreds or a couple thousand worth of dollars. (If my statement didnt make since hopefully this will clear it up. The previous owners could owe $1000 to the storage and its brought to an auction it sells for $4000. The storage pays the owed dept of $1000 leaving a remainder of $3000 which is owed to the previous owners. If this is the case the previous owners received their forfeited property and extra cash in hand)
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they weren't some group of smash and grab people using that storage unit to store stuff they stole, seems like too much brand new stuff with tags still on it.
The owner of that unit could of sold some of that stuff her self to pay the storage fees owed, but she didn't,she will get the money you paid for the unit with the storage fees she owed deducted so you could of only given personal paper work back, you did good for her Mr pirate,my karma bless you, best wishes
Storage facilities don't give any money back to the person that rented the unit. Some units sell for more than what is owed but many sell for much less. Some units don't sell at all. Plus it costs the storage facility to have an auction & do the clean-up after.
I would have called the storage unit manager to let them know you’re being harassed by the *PREVIOUS* owners of the unit and if that fails then call the police about them trying to intimidate you over your property
I know you had the trailer on your truck but you should have secured that jet ski so they didn't come take it back. I would have asked the storage place if you can secure it there outside the unit so it's not taken or set it in another empty unit for a day or two. That's worth like 700-800
Ya but to much legal problems . It wasn’t posted in sale even ps manager saw it and then it opens of can of worms i don’t want to deal with . But i do understand what you mean
I have worked as a property manager in storage for yearsss and yes once you buy it and the money is received and payment processed it’s all yours unless like in some states the law says different but I have seen situations like this before
I've heard of this happening sometimes but I've been lucky not to have it happen to me yet, hopefully if it ever does I can handle it as graciously as you did as to not escalate the situation and I'm glad that you and Uncle Mike are safe! The facility people should have made them leave until you were done. 😕 I think I would have told them whatever I needed to in order to get rid of them, cleared the unit out quickly and go through it for the good stuff, then taken all the junk stuff back to the facility and let them deal with it. I'm glad you got a good unit but that should not have been allowed to happen.
I wouldn’t be shocked if the workers/owners of the storage unit site let them in the gate to their old unit. There’s no way I would have left that jet ski! Seems like a bunch of shoplifters with all that new stuff, clothes, cologne. Maybe I’m wrong, but who knows.
Terrible they were let in how uncomfortable you were so absolutely nice she should be forever grateful as NO ONE would leave all that you are an angel with a heart. I’m in storage it’s hard to get out and a waste of money never do it people trust me
I held storage auctions for a year and in one instance, the family that lost the unit participated in the auction, hoping to get their stuff. Someone outbid them, but was willing to give them personal effects, such as photo albums...etc.
Hate those sorts of sitautions. Always awkward, and potentialy dangerous. Was doing a house cleanout for a landlord, in the middle of a rural area, and the day before we had come across multiple guns (incuding a sawed off), loads of prescription drugs under various names, among other sus stuff, and the former owners of the stuff show up, including their son who was, fresh out of jail....they had had 2 years to remove the items...they wanted us to return all the furniture, which I had sold for a grand total of $20 for a trailer load, as it was pretty lousy stuff. Was a sh*tshow.
That's all stolen merchandise from where one of them or all of them used to work, like Walmart or target, hell even K mart. You can tell they can't afford majority of them items in there anyways and that's why it's all brand new in boxes.
They probably knew it was the day of the auction and figured they could snatch it back. Wrong on their part. Leave them the clothes, keep the bins, they'll be worth more than the clothes at a flea market. As for the jet ski, you could always sell it back to them. It'll be cheaper for them than buying another one.
Yeah man I carry when I go. Sometimes it's an open carry, sometimes it's concealed, but it's just one of those things. My first unit guy ran up on me, all I could to is be polite, inform him he's trespassing per the owner of the place, and then I gave him a few personal things and I told him I'm sorry he's down on his luck and hope things get better and we've all been there.
I’m currently at a point where I might not be able to afford the rent for my storage unit what I’m doing is selling everything and donating all the junk. Most of the time the blame falls on these people for not acting and letting the unit go to auction. I would take everything
How can you not pay your storage bill when it looks like it is full of smash and grab goods. Sorry, just never met anyone that buys and keeps four brand new sewing machines, plus a lot of other new in box items
When you guys buy units do you go through every little thing? And when you come across important documents or photos do you guys normally trash them? askin bc my unit was auctioned off 5 days ago but I had my ssn card birth certificate diploma military certificates photos and other documents in two specific bags but the facility isn’t even allowing me to give the buyer a call for them to drop them off when they come across it. a part of me feel like they peeked inside the bags n thought it was trash so they probably didn’t continue sifting through the stuff. 🥺 they’re sayin it’s nothing I can do. all of my credentials and memorabilia of my entire life gone. I’m aware that once they buy it they now own it and everyone aren’t good samaritans. Idk what to do if there’s even anything I can try to do. 😩
They should be willing to give your number to buyer but it’s illegal to give buyers number to previous tenant . Most buyers give these things back to the manager . But i can’t speak for all . But try to sweet talk the manager to give them your info . And hopefully they will
@@StorageAuctionPirateI went in I spoke with the manager he had an attitude n I asked him to if he can call the buyer or leave a message but he left such a vague message sayings "I'm calling about the unit u bought at auction [unit #] give us a call when u get a chance" I literally showed him a photo from my storage of the bags that have my important stuff in it. he could’ve said more in the message. and I kid you not literally a second later a call came in n it was him n one other associate at the front desk, neither answered the phone and I felt like that was the buyer callin back.. I had to emotionally check myself so I just said thanks and walked out 😔
Great video, the storage place should have never let that happen with the old owners, but you were nice as always, karma is going to treat you well. 😼💛 looking forward for the net videos
I lost a local unit once. It was sold at auction to a local thrift store owner. when I saw a few of my items in the store. i found out he had tossed the rest in his dumpster.. So I searched and found most of my personal heirlooms, family pics, even 400 years old Scandinavian coins. that i hid inside my boots. Ha Ha !
Looks like someone who buys something everyday to feel better about life. Reminds me of when I would bring stuff home because it was free, and I thought hey,..I could use this someday. Later when I moved, I realized I could replace this stuff at any time, and it was stupid to haul it around or pay to store it...
I wonder where did they get all those new in box things? Hmmmm. I wouldn’t have given them nothing running up on me like that. You gotta stay with the heat these days!!
Theoretically it wasn’t supposed to be sold due to lien laws and since everyone became privy i don’t need the legal matters isn’t worth the $1000 it was worth
People paying for storage and then also buying stuff they don't really need. That's the American dream that big business sells you every day.... And I really question the people who need to decorate themselves with gaudy "costume jewlery". Their priorities have been off long before the storage unit.
Yeah it is there stuff. Just cause the storage company has a bill, doesn't mean it's a free for all on my stuff. I don't care what the law and the thieves at the storage unit company say. I was homeless and working to get a place, when a storage unit company decided to take my stuff. I got half a month behind and was paying it down monthly, after over a year a new manager decided she wanted my stuff so entered it into auction. Didn't let me remove personal papers or family items. So I cut off the lock and took my stuff back same day of auction. It's a very fine line between robbery and business. They will put a lock on your life for $5. So I side with the family over "auction" almost every time.
I got run-up on in NE Portland a year ago. 3 guys were gonna get tough until they saw I was armed. Storage company called the cops and they were escorted out.
Well you bought it its yours. How did they get in the facility owing 3 months worth of back payments. If the facility didn't credit them for payments then its a lawsuit from both of you.
Idk about ya all but morally I feel like its missed up. One day anyone can have hard time and not be able to pay up and all their stuff is sold. Yea the locker unit needs to make money I understand but you have to see the other sides POV too.
What you mean it is what it is? That makes zero sense. They were given ample time. Ample warnings. Call the cops if you're a little uneasy. $4k for that unit, but then the "owners" come thru & get their stuff back? In what reality does that even begin to make sense?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of everything that's in that unit is probably stolen from stores so they can get there reparation.
So you left the jet ski also?

Storage facilities don't give any money back to the person that rented the unit. Some units sell for more than what is owed but many sell for much less. Some units don't sell at all. Plus it costs the storage facility to have an auction & do the clean-up after.
Why ??? They had there time... Its OK. What you didd... Did they thank you... I don't think so...!
I would have called the storage unit manager to let them know you’re being harassed by the *PREVIOUS* owners of the unit and if that fails then call the police about them trying to intimidate you over your property
OMG 😮😮😮 I have always wondered if that could happen!! Did they pay you anything???? I'm in such shock!!
No payment . Just my kindness
@StorageAuctionPirate WOW...I'm still in utter shock! You're a good person, karma will shine kindly on you! 🫶
Wouldn't be better if you just load the stash immediately and do the video at home or at shop
Vidoes at home don’t get the views of the ambience of being in the storage
I know you had the trailer on your truck but you should have secured that jet ski so they didn't come take it back. I would have asked the storage place if you can secure it there outside the unit so it's not taken or set it in another empty unit for a day or two. That's worth like 700-800
Ya but to much legal problems . It wasn’t posted in sale even ps manager saw it and then it opens of can of worms i don’t want to deal with . But i do understand what you mean
I thought everything in the container was yours when you buy it. It's not like you're able to go through it before it's purchase
@@bnt5687It’s a whole other ball of wax if there’s something with a motor. The buyer usually doesn’t get it, at least in CA.
What about the sowing machines then they have small motors no?@@timt1543
I have worked as a property manager in storage for yearsss and yes once you buy it and the money is received and payment processed it’s all yours unless like in some states the law says different but I have seen situations like this before
I've heard of this happening sometimes but I've been lucky not to have it happen to me yet, hopefully if it ever does I can handle it as graciously as you did as to not escalate the situation and I'm glad that you and Uncle Mike are safe! The facility people should have made them leave until you were done. 😕
I think I would have told them whatever I needed to in order to get rid of them, cleared the unit out quickly and go through it for the good stuff, then taken all the junk stuff back to the facility and let them deal with it. I'm glad you got a good unit but that should not have been allowed to happen.
Lmao Uncle Mike is showing off the guns for the lady likes 😂😍😉
His little pew pews 😂😂
@@StorageAuctionPirate 🤣🤣🤣 he's a hoot!
925's east bay, I'm not surprised someone showed up with a heater. I'm surprised no lead was exchanged 🤣
😂😂😂
I wouldn’t be shocked if the workers/owners of the storage unit site let them in the gate to their old unit. There’s no way I would have left that jet ski! Seems like a bunch of shoplifters with all that new stuff, clothes, cologne. Maybe I’m wrong, but who knows.
Terrible they were let in how uncomfortable you were so absolutely nice she should be forever grateful as NO ONE would leave all that you are an angel with a heart. I’m in storage it’s hard to get out and a waste of money never do it people trust me
Fire! Let's go! I wish I was twenty for the rest of my life!
I just reported this post for bullying because the guy got bullied LOL
Doesn’t sound fun
@@StorageAuctionPirate Definitely wasn't a highlight of the year...
You and your kids and Uncle have too much fun going through these units 😂
No such thing as to much fun lol
16:25 That's just wrong of them! All your supposed to leave is their personal pics, papers or IDs. You paid for it, that was a total set up. JS
Why so many new items in boxes? And multiple of them… def comes off that they were buying or selling stolen stuff
@6:50 ”that’s Gordons👟”😂
At the bottom of that first ice chest was about a 300 cricut machine lol
Ya they had 4 more new ones .
I bet they had something illegal or everything stolen
You don’t have to like it !
How can you not pay your storage bill when it looks like it is full of smash and grab goods. Sorry, just never met anyone that buys and keeps four brand new sewing machines, plus a lot of other new in box items
Great finds pirate. Good to see u r on the $$ again. Nice of you to give those people their personal effects back!
That’s on the family for not paying their storage bill 🤷♀️🤷♀️
"When you buy a unit full of stolen items"
They wouldn't come back if it wa stolen pale being u
Did they pay u for anything?Did u leave the sea-doo?
I love that you think of your wife and kids with the dibs!!!
❤️❤️
I had to emotionally check myself so I just said thanks and walked out 😔
You know your safe, UM is with you ❤
Thank you Mary 🌹🌹
Great video, the storage place should have never let that happen with the old owners, but you were nice as always, karma is going to treat you well. 😼💛 looking forward for the net videos
Hope so lol
Amen
Should have told the former owners kick rocks and complain to corporate office of the storage...
I would have charged them a fee...
That DTF bottle is priceless when you need it
I mean I would have made them pay me for it.
You have a good heart. Hoping to catch that auction
5:54 unc aura farming lmao
I go with taking their number and returning only personal items once you’ve gone through it all with a fine toothbrush!
Oh well there lost that's what happens when they can't pay their bill
Agreed
Gurl showed up in loafers you know she wasnt moving shit that day
I wonder where did they get all those new in box things? Hmmmm. I wouldn’t have given them nothing running up on me like that. You gotta stay with the heat these days!!
I can’t believe you left the jet ski. Why didn’t you take it?? Still good for you 🙏👍🇺🇸
Even I'm shocked why he left Jet ski He could have called the police
Theoretically it wasn’t supposed to be sold due to lien laws and since everyone became privy i don’t need the legal matters isn’t worth the $1000 it was worth
@@StorageAuctionPirate thanks Michael for explaining it . Take care brother 🙏🇺🇸👍
Dude you was way more generous than most
Do you still have any of the Cricut 3's and did was there any more stuff like that you might have
Pirate is too nice, you gotta break even. My worst nightmare is confronting the previous owner, things can go bad so quick.
I try to avoid it
If they didn't pay rent how do they have a gate code? That definitely needs to be investigated
It's probably a winner you have an eye for finding the winner, so good luck 🤞😁🇸🇪
I think you may have a legal case against these perps! How did they get in, who let them in? Were you threatened?
Looks like that unit was where they stored some stolen goods.
People paying for storage and then also buying stuff they don't really need. That's the American dream that big business sells you every day....
And I really question the people who need to decorate themselves with gaudy "costume jewlery". Their priorities have been off long before the storage unit.
Amen
I'm curious what if things were stolen like who buys Versace cologne and leaves it in a unit
sue the auction organizers for endangerment of your safety.
Then he will likely be unable to buy another unit there
@@T0tenkampf nah. That would be PR MF nightmare
Well you bought it its yours. How did they get in the facility owing 3 months worth of back payments. If the facility didn't credit them for payments then its a lawsuit from both of you.
😂tape usually means the doors swing open.
What a nice man you are that is a very uncomfortable situation.
Good job brother you went above and beyond.
Correct. For 3500$ he needed to keep that ski
A lot of that stuff is probably stolen
Idk about ya all but morally I feel like its missed up. One day anyone can have hard time and not be able to pay up and all their stuff is sold. Yea the locker unit needs to make money I understand but you have to see the other sides POV too.
What you mean it is what it is? That makes zero sense. They were given ample time. Ample warnings. Call the cops if you're a little uneasy. $4k for that unit, but then the "owners" come thru & get their stuff back? In what reality does that even begin to make sense?
I like the new products I like the jewelry box I like the TV It's screens money money
This guy must have been on Deal Soldier getting all of the Wal Mart clearance deals.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of everything that's in that unit is probably stolen from stores so they can get there reparation.
