From the first time I saw this jewel of comedy and damn good acting was in a Sitcom called Soap, I’ve been in love with Billy as he has always been about entertaining us in SO many funny and delightful ways! Hands down 1 of the funniest shows ever created!
He also did the voice of Calcifier in Howl’s Moving Castle, probably my favorite Hayao Miyazaki Movie!!!

With the recent online kerfuffle over a Princess Bride sequel/reboot/whatever, my love for Billy Crystal has been pushed back to the fore-brain. And right there, insistently, is also Robin Williams.
So I'm smile-crying watching this.
I’m from Louisville and remember sitting outside Yum stadium during Ali’s funeral watching Billy Crystal speak as it was broadcast live on a huge screen TV. What an amazingly funny guy, and such an interesting friendship between the two. RIP Muhammad Ali.
I attended a tribute to Ali at Freedom Hall at the Fairgrounds in '96. James Earl Jones read from Ali's biography. Great night. The place went nuts when Ali appeared and boxed the then 12 year old local boxing champ, complete with Ali Shuffle.

Makes me feel old to see Billy Crystal hailed as an elder statesmen, legendary actor, and icon. I remember when he was a newbie playing perhaps the first regular, positive gay character on "Soap."
PS: I'm also old enough to remember Dean Martin's roasts. They were fun and insider-ish and familiar. The ones that air on Comedy Central now just seem mean and childish.
There have been several great sets by roasters over the course of all of the Comedy Central roasts, but there have been a lot of misses as well. I never much cared for Jeff Ross' brand of comedy, and am disappointed he's at every damn roast and is called "The Roastmaster General". Greg Giraldo, before he died, was a great regular dais member. He may have been worthy of such a title.
Just wanted to point out that Stephen CAN see Billy in spandex racewalking in "When Harry Met Sally". It's the details, folks.
As a musician, I'm always happy to see it when a guest also acknowledges the band when they come on. The band contributes SO MUCH to the atmosphere of the show and SPECIALLY for the guest's entrance! They should at least get a wave...

I met a NY couple visiting Chicago and the woman asked "How is Chicago So CLEAN? Who cleans?" I asked, "What?" She said, "NY has garbage everywhere!" I explained that there are garbage cans on nearly every corner and street sweepers and garbage men. "Well, NY has that, too." Chicagoans actually put their garbage in THE garbage! (Though kids these days care less..) Chicago politics has never been clean, crime has never been low, but, the downtown City streets are clean!!
