I definitely think the Omnitrix adapted to Ben's names. In the OS, Ben was using Master Control and thinking of his alien's names rather than their species.
I’ve honestly always like the master control in OS more, Ben didn’t even need to speak and was instantly transformed, plus it seemed that it allowed for quicker switches
@@kevingb6778 not exactly, if u see in classic series Ben could just think and switch, it was much faster, onward he had to press the omnitrix to switch, or voice command
I'm pretty sure the reason Albedo gives him the ultimatrix is because he straight up doesn't know what the deactivation code is, and doesn't know what would happen if he turned off the ultimatrix while it was self destructing. The reason Azmuth doesn't consider the ultimatrix to be better than the omnitrix is because it wasn't finished when Albedo took it, that's why it doesn't give ben unique genetically perfect variants of the species it scans, instead it just copies them, like with the Andromeda aliens, plus there was that situation with the Ultimates gaining sentience, there were a lot of problems with the ultimatrix and it's my belief it's because Azmuth wasn't finished with it.
It does make sense that the omintrix is better because azmuth said he didn't finished he obviously didn't finished it because he though he didn't need it at the time
The Albedo Chili Fries bit with Vilgax had me in tears XD the way Albedo interrupts him with that goofy smile, the cuts back to Vilgax all with the sound effects of him eating, while footage of you watching keeps playing like it’s actually part of the episode, beautiful, comedy gold
I like that after how horribly all his previous team ups went Vilgax was like "Nope, aint falling for it again. I'll be doing the back stabbing from now on"
It was kinda fun to bring back Vilgax's original motivation for getting a hold of the Omnitrix. Even though it wasn't exactly like he explained it back in classic. Btw Ben did have a conversation with Azmuth and they came to the same conclusion before cutting away. So Azmuth probably told Ben the self-destruct code off-screen.
Possible but I do prefer Ben setting the code himself. Frames him as a Star Trek fan. Isn't there a crew statement of Ben setting a few locks on the device anyway? Plus, he knew how to take it off at the start of this season.
Too bad Vilgax was stupid and didn’t use the Omnitrix when he had the chance. Really shows how arrogantly stupid he is, while he’s a massive threat to the universe his arrogance makes him do stupid things. Like HAVING THE BIOIDS POWERED BY THE OMNITRIX AND NOT PLAN ON HAVING A BACK UP POWER SOURCE FOR YOUR ROBOTS. Seriously his old bioid army was much more deadly
I feel I should bring attention to the fact that Azmuth definitely made the core, but the "gauntlet" part of the Ultimatrix was probably built by Albedo himself. What's more, I'm fairly certain when Azmuth called the Ultimatrix "pathetic workmanship", he was specifically talking about the "gauntlet" that the core was placed into. Hell, we don't even know if the core was originally meant to evolve species; Albedo could have modified it do that. Maybe the Ultimatrix was originally the basis for Azmuth's new Omnitrix model. The point I'm trying to get at is that both Azmuth AND Albedo had respective parts to play in the creation of the Ultimatrix as we know it.
Albedo adding the evolve feature to the ultamatrix seems very plausible as he said that he had exceeded the power of the omnitrix and since the only improvement really is the evolve feature is implies Albedo created it
azmuth flat out says in the first episode about the map of infinity that an evolutionary feature was begging for trouble thus it was not originally planned for the device
I always figured that at that point in cannon; the Ultimatrix was meant to be like what the crystal was to Petropia: a backup centralized in a much smaller container in case something happened to Primus. I see what you say about the gauntlet, and I could see it also housing the circuitry and logic for the evolutionary function; spliced into the main system in a jury-rigged (pun noted) manner off to the side. (Conjecture, but it doesn't not make sense.) Azmuth spoke of said function with disgusted surprise, in my opinion (In forge of Creation.) Based on that, and things (If memory serves) the creators said about why he didn't add it to the new Omnitrix, would indicate he would NOT have added that function to begin with.
@@danyg0000 It also makes the episode where it turns out they’ve been sentient in the ultimatrix make a lot more sense and give reason as to why Azmuth wouldn’t put that design in the device. Plus Azmuth never considered the omnitrix or any version of it as a weapon, but instead as a tool for fostering peace. The evolution function as described would be counter to that goal and a gross perversion of the device’s purpose.
It was always called the Ultimatrix, so the ultimate feature was always a thing, but the gauntlet was probably albedo’s best attempt at giving it a body that can handle the Ultimates
Y'know in retrospect, Vilgax literally could've either A) Given Albedo the Omnitrix and let him use it to return to his Galvan form, then give it back, and be on his merry way, or B) Given Albedo the Omnitrix in exchange for the Ultimatrix which could honestly be considered a more powerful device due to the mega evolved aliens, but Vilgax just says "This kid seems nice. I'm going to leave him trapped as Ben and crush all of his hopes and dreams. I'm sure this won't cause me any problems in the future."
This is my issue with Vilgax outside of OS. he's just. Dumb. Like for some reason he makes the stupidest desicions every time that he's won or is close to winning and it's honestly annoying
Yeah, it hurts how accurate this is. It would have cost Vilgax a few hours to a few days for Albedo to fix himself, and in turn Albedo would probably help him more. Granted, Albedo teamed up with Vilgax at least twice after this (The Ben War and the Malgax episodes).
my guess is the Ultimatrix was intended to be the Omnitrix we see in OV, the name standing for "Final Omnitrix" the real reason he started to call it inferior was due to the modifications and tampering Albedo had added, especially with the state the core seemed to be in at the time of stealing
So if they did continue omniverse instead of the reboot would that mean we could’ve gotten to the perfected ultimatrix being the final version before the biomnitrix
For Ben giving up so easily my theory is that when he saw the ultimate function he got afraid of ultimate way big and other ultimates countering his aliens
Thats what I was thinking. So Ben would have lost and probably gotten Gwen and Kevin killed. My guess is that isn't regular rope cause they had to know that kevin is strong enough to break out of it
@@Echo_the_half_glitch, it literally looks like rope but black. It doesn’t matter if it’s rope or not, Kev and Gwen have broken off worse restraints before. Should’ve animated bootleg energy cuffs or something. Edit: Oh yeah my last sentence is to you two stop excusing bad executions of bad writing.
So my theory is that the bi oids probably had blasters behind them which would fire if they tried escaping , and if Ben did try going Way Big or Jet Ray ,Albedo would destroy him so Ben was spareing Kevin and Gwen.
I always wanted to see a Omnitrix similar to the Ultimatrix that instead of evolving the aliens it devolves them to a prehistoric state and shows us what the alien species looked like before evolving to what we see in Ben 10’s modern age
That weirdly feels like an Omnitrix that could be used in a time-travelling season. Like time is wack at the moment and the Omnitrix matches it’s Alien with the current time period to help with the situation and to prevent more damage to the timeline.
I don’t know if anyone has thought about this, but when Humongous grows bigger he faintly resembles a Stegosauridea, while Ultimate Humongous is more of a Ankylosauridae with the shell and the Club tail. Also the Ankylosaurus is famously called “A living Tank”, maybe the inspiration of Ultimate Humongous cannon arms. Just something I thought about.
A fun head canon, the Ultimatrix's inconsistent activation is because it really is just poorly made and if you fuck with it enough it'll usually do something. Also the gauntlet body is what Albedo built, then just stuck the seemingly unmodified core into it, hence why Azmuth is so critical of the overall craftsmanship, I like to imagine those tubes have something to do with the Ultimazation mechanism.
@@kannan07ben 10k I think is a future version of Ben from another universe where he didn't give up the Omnitrix to vilgax and destroyed it so he basically kept it the entire time and azmuth probably finished the ultimatrix and gave it to him and not the completed Omnitrix
@@CarlitoMush asmuth wouldn't give Ben an inferior version,it's more likely that this is the completed ultimatrix, rather than just ultimatrix+prototype omnitrix
19:52 I love how Kuro's statement about biological machine guns being strapped to an ultimate's back holds true because in Omniverse Ultimate Articguana straight up has biological cannons on his back
@@kingpiye7060 I mean by that logic I would assume for ultimate humungousaur it would be the same thing. There's no way a creature could ever evolve to have such things the ultimates possess at least not normally
@@ashuraomega7113 well we’re talking about a universe where living robotic aliens with dna exist so i dont think its that much of a stretch (doesnt mean i like it though)
A strange note on the smoke sticking to the ship: it kinda should. Candle smoke trails behind the candle when you move it because the air the candle is being moved through is relatively stationary and absorbs the smoke's kinetic energy/momentum, slowing the smoke. As there is no atmosphere in space, the smoke would continue moving according to its inertia until an outside force acts upon it. As the smoke is generated from a shot hitting the ship, it'll have roughly the same inertia as the ship (any part of the cloud that expands backwards obviously has slightly less) and thus "stick" to the ship until the ship's velocity and/or trajectory changes.
in fact, the animation of the smoke is pretty accurate considering they are in the vacuum of space, since as the smoke is produced by a moving source, the smoke also has the same speed as the ship, but as there is nothing pushing it. backwards, it continues at a constant forward speed just like the ship. For example, if you have a "smoke fountain" on a plane, as soon as it starts to smoke, the smoke doesn't go to the back of the plane, but goes up. Returning to the case of the ship, if the smoke source is accelerating, then there would really be a trail of smoke behind, but at constant velocity (and without gravity which pulls the air down more than the smoke due to the smoke being hotter , and therefore less dense than air because it has more volume), the smoke forms a cloud is correct
One thing I hadn't thought of is that if the ships have the thrusters on, they are accelerating, so the smoke should really go backwards, but if the thrusters have been broken by the shots, some of the smoke should follow the ship. Another thing, considering they're hitting the thrusters, maybe they've broken, and so they've stopped blowing the smoke back.
Plausible explanation however this wouldnt apply to the smoke created by the various initial explosions which would push outward omnidirectionally away from the ship. The smoke thereafter would behave how you said.
man, can't believe we're already done with another series. I know UA won't be for a while, but crazy you're practically halfway already. Best of luck to the future man.
I really like the silly YTP ish edits you do sometimes. They're always a treat. Honestly, I could almost see Albedo being rude enough to keep loudly munching and focusing on his food when someone's talking to him.
You forgot to mention this, but the bioids turning into aliens mirrors Vilgax's vision from Classic where he used the omnitrix to build make an entire army of aliens. Neat call back.
Second comment: as for the bioids naming themselves after Ben's names: it was proven how Ben's DNA is already partly mixed into the DNA from the Aliens in the Omnitrix. maybe it was permanently "damaged" to the point where the bioids (and Albedo) feel a instinct to call it out
@@jeanlucretia8072 You may not be necessarily wrong. It could just be that since Albedo is sentient he could just conciously refuse to do it, and the biods are mindless without a controller so they just do it
@@d_3634 maybe a mix even. Since Albedo is sentient and has his own DNA, he doesn't do the name thing. But since the bioids aren't, that blank gets filled with the infinitesimal Ben DNA
Vilgax's eye lasers seemed to behave like Darkseid's Omega Beams when he was cutting himself free. Also, I agree with how it didn't make sense that either Ben would surrender the Omnitrix so easily or that Albedo wouldn't have tried to stop the self-destruct countdown before giving Ben the Ultimatrix
Regarding Vilgax's true form, a friend of mine once reimagined it for his take of Ben 10. His idea was that this was an unique power available only to Chimera Sui Genesis of Royal blood. Also, he envisioned the form as less like a giant squid and more Cthulhu-like, gigantic with a humanoid body and tentacles akin to Reboot Vilgax. Personally I never quite understood why people hated the giant squid form, but now that you explain it... yeah, the way they do it it does seem random and comes out of nowhere. Shame because on paper I like it. Regarding this finale, I liked it enough for some good moments, but I acknowledge it's flawed and a bit too rushed. Still, that scene of Ben breaking down and having a talk with Azmuth was great at least - and the Ultimatrix made a good first impression. But yeah it does feel like they rushed all the cool stuff that should have been done over several episodes instead of wasting time with bad fillers.
Granted given that Vaxasaurians have to deal with Tyrannapedes, evolving to have machine gun hands would probably help them with having bigger odds of surviving.
I always thought it was weird how vaxasaurians can hold to'kustars and throw them but can't do the same to Tyrannapede for more than a few minutes. You'd think to'kustars would be heavier.
@@N.I.A23 It might be the case that for that instance their evolved counterparts are just much stronger physically as well, given that they no longer can grow larger as a result of their evolution.
I think Kevin was into sumo slammers when he was young but since getting back to earth he hasn't re-watched it until this episode. so he was looking forward to the film because he remembered liking it but watching it again he sees it for all the issues it has. Edit: well Ben said it right after I typed this out. Kevin liked the classic sumo slammers but this new show isn't for him
About ultimate Humungosaur, I believe Omniverse improved on the design quite a bit. I feel the forms look more organically connected, like I can more confidently say "Yeah, that looks evolved more than an armored version of base form" that original Ultimate Hugh gives me. Happens to Spider-monkey as well, I prefer the look of gorilla arms over the spider legs.
I agree with Humangasaur and Spidermonkey part I also love OV Ultimate Echo Echo having cables connected to it and his face being more angular instead of roundish. Too bad he only appeared for 8 seconds in OV.
I can bet on all ultimate uaf design supporters, had the Omniverse ultimate designs come first, and uaf designs in Omniverse, they'd have completely shit on the uaf designs. Dinosaur and gorilla ultimates>>>>
0:54 vilgax bioids did make sense. It actually connects right the classic S1 finlae , where vilgax tells Ben about his true motive . To create an army of aliens. There we saw multiple aliens and vilgax controlling them
Concept falls apart due to execution. They don’t make sense because Vilgax just brings them up out of nowhere. Terrible writing considering that not only has Vilgax changed so drastically, but they were never foreshadowed beforehand. Making what you said really hard to believe.
If only Ben promised Albedo to help him return to his Galvin form after they escape Vilgax's ship Ben would have never been too egotistical to ruin Albedo's life
He got closure when he became a Galvin in double or nothing until it reverted him back to a negative version Ben due to the Ultimatrix energy Albedo cant be a full Galvin because he will timeout
ya no ben has no reason to help albedo the guy has been attacking ben endangering his friends and family plus other stuff. Plus it was albedo own fault for what happen to himself He was a egostical brat who thought knew better than azmuth and nearly doom the universe by making a copy omnitrix.
It's established that the Omnitrix A.I. learns how Ben operates (it's one of the explanations of why Ben mistransforms in Omniverse) so the A.I. probably noticed the pattern of saying the Aliens' names when he transform which is why the bioids did it. As for Kevin being stronger unmutated; it's established that how strong Kevin is depends on the material he's absorbed. A Kevin with one metal arm, one stone arm, and wooden legs would not be as strong as a full metal Kevin. However a Kevin that never experienced that mutation (like in the alternate timeline) would never have learned about his morphing ability making him much less powerful.
@@robin2117 uh.... no...? He is very much just regular materials. Where did you even get that misinformation from? The only times Kevin is like you described is when he absorbs the omnitrix energy. This was caused by the omnitrix but he didn't absorb any DNA he is fully material.
I always thought that Ben yelled the alien names so many times that it became muscle memory for the Alien. So when the Bioids transform and get the data dump they yell the name.
I consider him the perfect ultimate because he’s neither too similar to his base form like Ultimates Big Chill, Cannonbolt, Wildmutt or WayBig but not too different like Ultimates Swampfire, Spidermonkey or Echo Echo
One cool thing I remember about these episodes is that in my country they were so unbelievably delayed that they premiered as part of the 10.10.10 special event. They even advertised it as such "The 10.10.10 is the perfect day for the Ben 10 series finale". To be honest I find it way more fitting for the event than that Ultimate Aggregor episode.
yeah, same happened where I live too, it's actually strange learning about it now that this finale didn't take place on 10.10.10 in the original release; and you're saying they did the UA season 1 finale on 10.10.10 instead? that's just bonkers!
Man I'm so happy we finished a another series. Just one more til Omniverse. I just wanna say thank you Kuro for your dedication in slowly covering the whole prime continuity
To give ben the benefit of the doubt, albedo said he had all Ben's aliens with the ability to have them go ultimate. He could've realized if he tried going Way Big, nothing is stopping albedo from going Ultimate Way Big
@@callofhaloinfinite6336A million or a bit more years is nothing to Alien X. He would not evolve through the Ultimate function, even if he was in a simulated war zone.
@@ManicFiction Yes. But even Alien X has weaknesses, and the simulations aren`t necessarily war zones, but rather ``worst case scenarios`` for the Alien (I`m sure there`s way worse cases for a species` survival than just wars) So I bet the ``worst case scenario`` simulation would use Alien X`s weaknesses to threaten it`s survival to the point it needs to evolve
@@cheesefart570 Agreed. I honestly think this is why sometimes it`s better to go Way big in many dire situations, especially fights, rather than Alien X just because of Alien X stripping Ben of his ability to be present (as in actively trying to do stuff instead of just standing there) until he convinces -Eustace & Muriel- Bellicus & Serena to let him do *anything* But while Way Big, while not as capable as Alien X, can do more thing actively & is probably the 2nd best option in most fights. Alien X`s powers just don`t feel worth it (unless you`re a conflict resolution pro) unless you need to recreate the entire universe or smth
I personally think it'd be interesting to see a video similar to the 'Negative Ten: Rewritten' video but with these episodes. Like, maybe have Albedo tie Gwen & Kevin up with Swampfires vines and either Albedo or Vilgax could have access to the power dampener headbands and could utilise them here. Also maybe have Albedo use one or two more Ultimate forms and definitely have a bit of a bigger buildup to Ben giving up the Omnitrix
This was literally one of the best 2 parter in Ben 10 I just love these episodes That Ben calling azmuth in the rain is literally one of my favorite scenes of all time
33:38 It clearly happened *before* SotO bro, which is why… 34:06 It actually does add up. Despite being a hermit, it is stated in a pop-up in Secret of the Omnitrix that Azmuth observed Ben’s activities. He clearly didn’t think fondly of them, as he compared Ben to Vilgax in the movie. He probably contacted Max at this time (somehow) and Max would’ve convinced him; fits perfectly before SotO. Edit: Also Kuro, pay attention to what Azmuth said after saying the “asking Max” thing, “But then I saw you grow, witnessed your bravery and ingenuity. Using the Omnitrix in ways that never even occurred to me…” which falls perfectly in line with what Azmuth saw in Ben in SotO. It’s why he changed and became the active leader and Ben supporter we see in AF; it’s why he was content on leaving it with Ben, Kuro. The moment he witnessed was Ben using the Self-Destruct Mode as an EMP to stop Vilgax’s drones despite the futile effort to protect the universe. There’s like a cut to a close-up shot of Azmuth reacting to it after Ben does it and everything. Soon after, Azmuth stops the SDM. Before any of you say this could apply to War of the Worlds, it doesn’t add up there because Azmuth had faith in Ben, he did what he did in an attempt to PROTECT Ben and the universe he now cared about. So yeah, it does add up Kuro.
very much unlikely that the talk between Azmuth and Max happened at any time before SOTO; because before then, Azimuth had been living completely off the grid and no one in the galaxy knew where he was, if he had communicated with Max before SOTO, then they would have simply used that same communication link to contact Azmuth again when the Omnitrox started self-destructing instead of going on an entire space adventure my personal estimate for the "talk" is that it took place during the time skip between Classic and AF, during the time Ben had taken off the Omnitrix
I like to believe that his talk with Max happened in one of the Omniverse Flashbacks, specifically in the flashback where Malware attacked Galvan Prime since Max had a talk with Azmuth offscreen and they never explained what they talked about
@@mastergreeen1385 what? Azmuth, more than likely contacted Max, meaning Max wouldn’t know how to contact him, or would have a way to contact Azmuth so there would be no reason to mention to Tetrax that he had talked with Azmuth, he had been observing Ben’s adventures up till then through the Omnitrix, and even if they had the means to call Azmuth from home, I think it would be pretty difficult to try to explain how to turn off one of the galaxy’s most powerful pieces of technology to a 10-year-old over the phone
@PerfectChaos115 Max having contacted Azmuth, thus not only knowing the actual creator of the device, but also having had a direct communication line with them (regardless of if it was one way or not) would have all been vital info that would have been tantamount to discovering the creator's location, not something at all that Max of all people would try and hide from Tetrax, especially when his own grandson's life was at stake if in any way Max knew of Azmuth before SOTO, then the entire movie would be different, their entire rationale on finding the creator would be different, Azmuth's own demeanor and responses towards Ben and Co. would be different, heck, the entire movie would be about half as long
Never noticed until you pointed it out at 12:34 when Albedo shoots Diamondheads crystals, he forms spikes on his arms. While I prefer how Classic handled it, thats such a cool detail that I wish was implemented more going forward
Regarding the Omnitrix, I have a theory that Xylene may have contacted Azmuth when she first realized that Vilgax was on her tail, and discussed with Azmuth to give the Omnitrix to Max, hence Azmuth saying it was meant for Max. And I suppose Azmuth had this conversation with Max regarding Ben after Destroy All Aliens, not SoTO, because he meets Max face to face for the first time.
I think that the choice was made by Xylene and that Azmuth simply came to accept it when he was made aware of it later. "intended for your grandfather" could simply be him saying that it was what Xylene chose to do then and what he has accepted until now
The conversation with Max can’t have been after Destroy All Aliens, because in the OV flashbacks Azmuth still continues to trust Ben with the Omnitrix. We see what makes Azmuth start to become the wise mentor for Ben in the rain scene, when he loses Feedback. In Destroy All Aliens, Azmuth actually doesn’t take his turn to Way Big that seriously against Ben; he’s mad but not really mad enough to question Ben keeping the Omnitrix. It had to be before SotO, because that’s the only time Azmuth questioned it. It also lines up with what convinced him in letting Ben keep the Omnitrix in that movie, “But then I witnessed your bravery and ingenuity. Using the Omnitrix in ways that never even occurred to me…”
@@jasonnguyen2575How can Azmuth have this conversation with Max before SoTO if the guy never met Max before that? Just because Azmuth trusts Ben, it doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t bother speaking to Max about it, Besides, Azmuth started to get more involved with the Plumbers AFTER he met Ben, so definitely Azmuth met Max after SoTO. And I also say after Destroy All Aliens because that takes place before the Omniverse flashbacks. I don’t even think the conversation was like, “Hey Max, I don’t trust Ben with the Omnitrix, here, you have it”. In this case you have to look at the timeline of events based on how they happened, not the dialogue
38:25 I was always under the impression that Azmuth told him in their conversation in the previous scene. Seems like a prudent thing to ask for and recent enough to remember easily
Not to mention, in the episode “Ghost Town” part of Vilgax’s argument in trying to get Ben’s help was that his planet had no warriors and that the people there were all civilians, I’m betting the “Squid form” is something Vilgax’s race learns how to do through rigorous training
My theory for why azmuth initially considered the ultimatrix better than the omnitrix is that the evolution feature was meant to just speculate on what species would become instead of turning them into war machines, which might be the modification albedo made.
Ngl I started this breakdown journey with Alien Force and then went back and watched all your classic breakdowns. You’ve come a long way bro. Can’t wait to see the future of this channel 👍🏿
I always figured Ben just told Azmuth his plan and asked him for the command codes between that scene and confronting Vilgax. At least, that’s what I took from it.
Actually there's another time when someone turns the dial to go Ultimate. To my knowledge, the only other time apart from Final Battle Part 1 was during Ultimate Cannonbolt's debut. I don't think it happens any other time.
The Vilgax biodroids always felt like a reference to Vilgax's original reasoning for wanting the omnitrix, with wanting an army of transforming warriors. Too bad they don't get to look like classic vilgax robots.
Something I'm surprised Kuro didn't mention is that the very first alien we see Ben use in Alien Force is Swampfire, and the very last Alien and the first Ultimate Alien is Ultimate Swampfire, a great way to bring the entire series full circle while setting up Ultimate Alien.
My take on Ben's alien's names; I always assumed, especially after first seeing this episode, that the Omnitrix/Ultimatrix keeps record of Ben's names for them, like a file name, considering the DNA is stored in a digital analogue format. In fact, McDuffie did say at one point that the aliens knew their names nigh-instantly after their instincts enter Ben's brain, and shouted them to assert their individuality, so once Ben names them, it probably saves the name for the sake of user familiarity

I wish Albedo and Vilgax got more build up. I love these two villains. I think we could get more Albedo vs Ben fights. His debut appearance has one of the more memorable fights.
The Ultimatrix activates by turning the dial. This is pretty consistent through UA, but the inconsistent part is that the core doesn't always pop up for Ben to hit it. Sometimes he just smacks it while it's still down.
I do appreciate the Bi-oids are a call back to the classic season 1 finale "Secrets", as it had a fantasy scene where it showed hundreds of the Classic 10 under Vilgax's comand. Although, it would have been cooler if they all didn't change into just one form.
Definitely agree that the bi-ods not being restricted to one alien at a time would've been a cooler visual and fight framing way, if not for TV budget and deadlines I'd be willing to bet they'd have made it a feature of the episode
The Jacket thing Ben actually would own many of them, like how in Ben 10 classic he has Multiple of his Iconic Shirt. It's most definitely, linked that Gwen had a Special print Jacket made and Ben bought more after the first one
I honestly like the Omniverse design for Ultimate Humungousaur slightly better. The dinosaur theme is better with that design in my opinion. I also really like how they added armor in that design as well, makes Humungousaur fit the "Tank" theme better
They did go through a mini arc with Vilgax. They treated him as a completely new character. The arc was him figuring out the omnitrix (apparently he forgot) First two episodes he learns of it. His thirst grows. Ghost Town he gets info from Zskayr about the SOTO In Primus he uses that info to get to Primus and that story unfolds and he learns to use the Omnitrix (via Ben). But he fails. So he recruits a corrupted galvan(Albedo) possibly given info by Zskayr. And the bi-oides well maybe he got that from ghost town. Maybe Zskayr's minions made em. And he figures out how to connect the Bi-oides(Ghost Town) with the codon stream(Primus) and then launches a final attack on Ben.
Idk maybe the vilgax "true form" works like kryptonians, where once exposed to a very foreign element his species gains additional powers. It doesn't really make sense scientifically but fiction-wise there is a precedent
1. I think when max called them bi-oids he knew what they were because vilgax used them against albedo. 2. I think ultimate swampfires slime is kerosene based. 3. I'm pretty sure if they could've made this a 3 parter in would've been alot better. Instead of rushing things witch resulted in ben giving up to quickly and fights being to short just to name a few.

Like would they still have made it Vilgax? Ben 10 vs. Lovecraft, someone write that down!
I figured Azmuth's plan for the Ultimatrix was for it to be the a reserve Omnitrix in case the original one was destroyed. Ultimate meaning final- the finished Ultimatrix was supposed to be a last ditch attempt at combating whatever dangerous threat that took out Tennyson and the Omnitrix, and was presumably meant to be more powerful than the original and the finished version. However, Azmuth never wanted it to have an evolutionary function. Now, a question might arise, that being: But could it be the first version of the completed OV Omnitrix? No, because he had been working on it for 6 years, and the Ultimatrix probably for much longer.
We've known from the beginning that Vilgax always wanted to control an army of Omnitrix users and that's exactly what he did in this finale so we can assume that Vilgax has had these bioids for a while since this was his plan with the Omnitrix. He didn't do it in "Primus" because he doesn't know how the recalibrated Omnitrix works and now that Ben showed him, this time he was ready. Ben couldn't have turned into Way Big, Diamondhead or any alien for that matter either because Albedo would just turn into the Ultimate form of that alien and beat him up again.
@@sirpap3 Yes. Whatever gave you that idea? Nothing is stopping Ben from doing the same thing with all of his aliens and there's nothing said about the Ultimatrix to suggest that his other aliens can't have ultimate forms. The creators just didn't want to commit to making Ultimate forms for 30-something aliens. Why would Ben be able to have ultimate forms but some aliens but not other aliens. Use some logic, please.
33:34 One thing to always keep in mind when Azmuth says _anything_ as an absolute? Half the time it didn't really play out that way because it's his ego getting in the way. It's because of this, that a lot of the aliens near him and assistants get their feelings hurt Azmuth doesn't watch the weight of his words on people that looked up to him.
12:12 Can't wait for "And There Was Ben" where they do that super satisfying transformation into Negative Ultimate Humngosaur and he flexes his arms and the cables rip out of his skin. That was dope.
Pretty sure Albedo created the gauntlet core thing, he didn't steal it. I read somewhere that he apparently used the armband from his duplicate Omnitrix to make it.
Random fact, Alien force is the only series where the final line is "Its Hero Time". Clasic has "Going hero", Ultimate alien ends with Ben and Azmuth talking about master control and the new omnitrix and Omniverse has Ben calling Gwen (I think it was Gwen) about going on a road trip
It really should’ve been an amazing fight between Ben and Albedo, with Ben trying all of his aliens against ultimate Humongousaur and nothing working, then Vilgax shows up and Ben gives up since he’s already beaten up. And only then Ben gives away the omnitrix
One thing I think you're CONSTANTLY forgetting is that some of the writers have gone on record stating that part of DNA is stored into the omnitrix and imprints part of his personality into the watch itself. We see this with Glitch in the reboot as well as Albedo with his very conception. So the watch referring to bens names is the instincts ben has imprinted onto it. Which is why people who transform with the watch use names ben gave them. It is ALSO why albedo needs chilly fries. It's retained habits from bens DNA that imprinted them onto the watch. All of it is just retained instinct. So it's not that they know the alien names as much as the watch knows them. . . except for when Villgax references them in general (like with ghostfreak), he studies ben, so that's separate. However, all the DNA robots are just retaining the imprints of Bens personality since they get their sample from the watch. They are the PUREST form of watch instinct retained from ben (as far as mindless mimicking goes).
Albedo's obsession with Chili Fries is just because he likes them, not because of DNA. Albedo just blames it on Ben because he hates the fact that he enjoys them so much. (Which, as someone who also loves chili fries, i get it.)
What I like of these episodes is that in the first serie, Vilgax had a vision of his army with the Omnitrix and I always wondered how one Omnitrix could transform so many warriors. These episodes showed me the way
I always figured Albedo built the Ultimatrix bracer by him self. I have read that Kevin was only really a fan of the Sumo Slammers games. Also, him being excited for the movie at the start of Season 3 could have just been sarcasm.
44:55 That was always funny to me how he just obliterates him with that move. By the way I always loved the ultimate swampfire's design, the brown and blue color scheme looks really nice and it looks like some sort of blue energy surrounded by and old tree which would make sense if millions of years passed to get that, you'd assume he'd look more old like and become just a destructive machine with the blue energy and stuff.
12:01 What's fascinating, because they start with the face forming, you can still see Diamondhead's face features in the Albedo transformation. Meanwhile, with Ben's you can barely see the face from behind. Really shows that this was was actually redrawn.
42:20 The only reason I can think of that Albedo can't deactivate it is that Albedo doesn't know the code. Who knows, maybe Ben configured the codes himself and hey, maybe it's a reference to Star Trek in-universe.
I think the Omnitrix bestows sentience to the Bioid army along with a transformation. It's kinda like the DNA itself is reacting rather than the Bioids themselves.
I’m surprised u didn’t mention that this was 1 of the few times ultimate swampfire actually uses his blue flame stream He mostly uses his seed and explosive fire bean things moving forward
I imagine Ben found out how to remove the omnitrix between alien force and the original series. He did after all have it removed in that time, so it’s possible he found out how the self destruct worked then too
@38:32 I would imagine after War of the Worlds, Ben would want to learn more about Voice Commands, so Azmuth may have given basic codes for Ben to utilize, and decoupling and destruction were in there. And Ben having Eidetic Memory would know them, even if he doesn't care to use them that often.
I've always felt that the Omnitrix kept on hearing Ben call the aliens nicknames and not their species. so the Omnitrix in turn. Catalogged them as the name Ben knows them as in case Ben needed to do something with a specific alien. Example being something like maybe a virus attached itself to one of the transformations which would require Ben or Azmuth to fix that specific DNA. So to make it easier for Ben to find, the Omnitrix catalogged it as their nickname. With Azmuth seeing all the overall DNA regardless, but also sees their nickname.
22:45 Kuro you make a great point. Especially considering how one of Azmuth's intentions for the omnitrix is to promote peace, understanding, and connection between all sentient/intelligent species in existence. Considering that making the ultimatrix kind of doesn't make sense, because the ultimatrix evolves each species to becoming more combat orientated, which is like the opposite of peace. Why would Azmuth create something that evolves each of the species to be more combat-orientated when the goal is to promote peace, understanding and connection amongst species? Perhaps, this was made with the intention of Ben being the one to use this, since Ben was the one who used the omnitrix for combat to save lives (well at least sometimes, becuase we have seen Ben kill and not even consider saving many beings). Therefore to give Ben a better chance of winning in his fights against enemies, the ultimate function was thought of by Azmuth.
As some others have suggested: maybe "Ultimatrix" was just supposed to mean "Final Omnitrix". Azmuth does critisize the evolutionary function when he finally sees it as Albedo made it after all. Maybe the evolutionary function is entirely Albedo's design.
I like the think that the Omnitrix adapted to Ben's preferences, therefore it remembers the aliens names as the ones that Ben calls them. e.g. Calling an Appoplexian "Rath" instead of the species name, since that's the user's preference.
I know they had to make vilgax go after Ben but to me it would have made more sense if he had just stolen the ultimatrix from albedo since it is more powerful and it would have been less work for him
I think he wants the Omnitrix to spite Ben and Azmuth. Plus, the Ultimatrix has horrible firewalls and MANY glitches, but Vilgax probably doesn't know about any of that.
Personally Ultimate Humungousaur is my favorite Ultimate design. I like that it mixes in more dinosaur elements and giving them a more armored look without just turning Humungousaur into a porcupine. I also like the new missile power since while it’s a bit out there it’s still pretty cool. After Humungousaur I think Swampfire gets my favorite Ultimate.
One thing to note is that Vilgax’s bioids transforming into Ben’s aliens is a callback to the Ben 10 season finale. That’s always what Vilgax wanted from the beginning. An army of Omnitrix aliens.
Despite the inconsistent tone of Alien Force S3, especially compared to the past two seasons, this was a well done finale imo. Could it have been done better? Probably, but what we got was pretty solid nonetheless.
I’m actually surprised you didn’t point out that Ben wasn’t wearing the omnitrix in the scene with him and Kevin in his room, that’s a pretty well known error I think
i assume that between the Azmuth scene and Ben saying he has a plan would be when he learned the self destruct code and the remove code likely was a holdover from when he supposedly removed it after classic before alien force
I definitely think the Omnitrix adapted to Ben's names. In the OS, Ben was using Master Control and thinking of his alien's names rather than their species.
That a good theory Recalibrated Omnitrix was our introduction to Omnitrix AI
I’ve honestly always like the master control in OS more, Ben didn’t even need to speak and was instantly transformed, plus it seemed that it allowed for quicker switches

(Conjecture, but it doesn't not make sense.)
Azmuth spoke of said function with disgusted surprise, in my opinion (In forge of Creation.) Based on that, and things (If memory serves) the creators said about why he didn't add it to the new Omnitrix, would indicate he would NOT have added that function to begin with.
This is my issue with Vilgax outside of OS. he's just. Dumb. Like for some reason he makes the stupidest desicions every time that he's won or is close to winning and it's honestly annoying
weridly albeto does work with vilgax later. So it didn't really hurt him too much.
Ultimatrix even in cannon to be a lesser version of the watch even with the ultimates which were barely used and Toss around quit a bite
Not to mention all the malfunction it had compared to the actual watch
Yeah, it hurts how accurate this is. It would have cost Vilgax a few hours to a few days for Albedo to fix himself, and in turn Albedo would probably help him more. Granted, Albedo teamed up with Vilgax at least twice after this (The Ben War and the Malgax episodes).
my guess is the Ultimatrix was intended to be the Omnitrix we see in OV, the name standing for "Final Omnitrix" the real reason he started to call it inferior was due to the modifications and tampering Albedo had added, especially with the state the core seemed to be in at the time of stealing

That’s a dope idea

Wanted to say this exact thing. The only thing that would make it flow away is if they were continuously accelerating, or if there was an atmosphere.
Plausible explanation however this wouldnt apply to the smoke created by the various initial explosions which would push outward omnidirectionally away from the ship. The smoke thereafter would behave how you said.

Regarding Vilgax's true form, a friend of mine once reimagined it for his take of Ben 10. His idea was that this was an unique power available only to Chimera Sui Genesis of Royal blood.
@@ManicFiction Yes.
But even Alien X has weaknesses, and the simulations aren`t necessarily war zones, but rather ``worst case scenarios`` for the Alien (I`m sure there`s way worse cases for a species` survival than just wars)
So I bet the ``worst case scenario`` simulation would use Alien X`s weaknesses to threaten it`s survival to the point it needs to evolve
@@cheesefart570 Agreed.
I honestly think this is why sometimes it`s better to go Way big in many dire situations, especially fights, rather than Alien X just because of Alien X stripping Ben of his ability to be present (as in actively trying to do stuff instead of just standing there) until he convinces -Eustace & Muriel- Bellicus & Serena to let him do *anything*
But while Way Big, while not as capable as Alien X, can do more thing actively & is probably the 2nd best option in most fights.
Alien X`s powers just don`t feel worth it (unless you`re a conflict resolution pro) unless you need to recreate the entire universe or smth

That edit was so perfectly done it took me a few seconds to realise it wasn’t part of the original episode. Great work as always, Kuro.
I love how patient Vilgax towards albedo eating his Chilly Fries.
This brings back a lot of nostalgia, I can't believe kuro is almost half way through these breakdowns.
This was literally one of the best 2 parter in Ben 10
I just love these episodes
That Ben calling azmuth in the rain is literally one of my favorite scenes of all time
I wouldn't say it's the best 2 parter ever, but the Ben-Azmuth rain scene is also one of my favorite scenes.

@@axelnilsson5124 yea cuz he edited the comment
33:38 It clearly happened *before* SotO bro, which is why…
34:06 It actually does add up.
So yeah, it does add up Kuro.
very much unlikely that the talk between Azmuth and Max happened at any time before SOTO; because before then, Azimuth had been living completely off the grid and no one in the galaxy knew where he was, if he had communicated with Max before SOTO, then they would have simply used that same communication link to contact Azmuth again when the Omnitrox started self-destructing instead of going on an entire space adventure
my personal estimate for the "talk" is that it took place during the time skip between Classic and AF, during the time Ben had taken off the Omnitrix
@PerfectChaos115 Max having contacted Azmuth, thus not only knowing the actual creator of the device, but also having had a direct communication line with them (regardless of if it was one way or not) would have all been vital info that would have been tantamount to discovering the creator's location, not something at all that Max of all people would try and hide from Tetrax, especially when his own grandson's life was at stake
if in any way Max knew of Azmuth before SOTO, then the entire movie would be different, their entire rationale on finding the creator would be different, Azmuth's own demeanor and responses towards Ben and Co. would be different, heck, the entire movie would be about half as long
Never noticed until you pointed it out at 12:34 when Albedo shoots Diamondheads crystals, he forms spikes on his arms.
Makes sense to me
I think that the choice was made by Xylene and that Azmuth simply came to accept it when he was made aware of it later. "intended for your grandfather" could simply be him saying that it was what Xylene chose to do then and what he has accepted until now
@@mastergreeen1385 Also possible
Can't wait for ULTIMATE ALIEN
38:25 I was always under the impression that Azmuth told him in their conversation in the previous scene. Seems like a prudent thing to ask for and recent enough to remember easily
Vilgax is a mutated cybernetic conqueror with a bunch of unknown powers.
Turning into a squid is unexpected, but not that crazy in all honesty
Not to mention, in the episode “Ghost Town” part of Vilgax’s argument in trying to get Ben’s help was that his planet had no warriors and that the people there were all civilians, I’m betting the “Squid form” is something Vilgax’s race learns how to do through rigorous training
Its dumb as hell. Came out of nowhere.
Or azmuth told him when they were under the rain
@@Бобёр-ю8г yeah I thought that too.
Actually there's another time when someone turns the dial to go Ultimate. To my knowledge, the only other time apart from Final Battle Part 1 was during Ultimate Cannonbolt's debut. I don't think it happens any other time.
But instead of extending like in this episode it’s just twisted 45 degrees counter clockwise and then pressing it back down to go ultimate

My take on Ben's alien's names;
I always assumed, especially after first seeing this episode, that the Omnitrix/Ultimatrix keeps record of Ben's names for them, like a file name, considering the DNA is stored in a digital analogue format. In fact, McDuffie did say at one point that the aliens knew their names nigh-instantly after their instincts enter Ben's brain, and shouted them to assert their individuality, so once Ben names them, it probably saves the name for the sake of user familiarity
Not gonna lie, I really love Ultimate Humongosaur's design and powers. He's like a Digmion. And Albedo's two fights in the finale are really cool.
omniverse design is way better. this design looks kind of unfinished but the fights in these finale are pretty good.
@@diamond_dude1063 The UAF designs often end up looking too much like action figures. Omniverse designs make them feel more like animals.
The sound effect for the gas Swampfire shoots out of his hand at 16:12 sounds like Darth Vader's Lightsaber ignition sound.
I wonder if the UAF crew came up with the idea of the bioids from that imagination
That edit on the Albedo and Vilgax conversation with the chili fries was golden
In the Reboot, the Lucky Girl franchise is also used to make meta inside jokes for the Ben 10 series much like Sumo Slammers.
Fun fact: Vilgax’s plan of creating an army of Ben’s aliens was actually his plan in S1 ep 13 secrets of the classic series
The Jacket thing
Ben actually would own many of them, like how in Ben 10 classic he has Multiple of his Iconic Shirt.
It's most definitely, linked that Gwen had a Special print Jacket made and Ben bought more after the first one
Yeah Ben sure seems like that type to wear the same clothes over and over.
I honestly like the Omniverse design for Ultimate Humungousaur slightly better. The dinosaur theme is better with that design in my opinion. I also really like how they added armor in that design as well, makes Humungousaur fit the "Tank" theme better
Both ult humungousaur designs has armor
They did go through a mini arc with Vilgax. They treated him as a completely new character. The arc was him figuring out the omnitrix (apparently he forgot) First two episodes he learns of it. His thirst grows.
Ghost Town he gets info from Zskayr about the SOTO
In Primus he uses that info to get to Primus and that story unfolds and he learns to use the Omnitrix (via Ben).
Well Professor Paradox later said in "Ben 10,000 Returns", there's a cross-timeline where Ben didn't need to destroy the Omnitrix to beat Vilgax.
I assume the Ultimatrix core was just supposed to be used in the original bracelet, and the whole gauntlet is a compensator because it's incomplete
*Deep Breaths*
- Cant believe we're already here! Time to go ULTIMATE!
- So...What was Azmuth's plan for the Ultimatrix? Cuz yeah, it seemed like he had no intention for the Ultimate forms.
- Ultimate Humungousaur! Honestly, I loved the look and kinda miss it in contrast to what we got in OV.
- Personally...Yeah, Ben gave up too easily. Would've preferred like Ult. Humungousaur beat the crap outta him and stripped him of it rather than a surrender without a fight.
- Really, Vilgax? Couldn't give these things more dialogue?
- "I got a plan....BLOW IT ALL UP!"
-As for True Form Vilgax...I wonder if there's a version of how the story plays out if they went with their "Cthulu figure" idea in Season 3.

29:23 I guess that’s supposed to imply that the crew uses the same background for Bens bedroom and didn’t recreate it without Bens jacket on the chair
33:34 One thing to always keep in mind when Azmuth says _anything_ as an absolute?
Half the time it didn't really play out that way because it's his ego getting in the way.
It's because of this, that a lot of the aliens near him and assistants get their feelings hurt
Azmuth doesn't watch the weight of his words on people that looked up to him.
7:32
I can’t tell if this is a mistake or on purpose, but the idea of Ben just SCREAMING while running at Kraab far funnier than it should have been.
Been having so much fun with all the breakdowns, big and small one's, hyped for UA, thank you so much for all the effort and great times!
What has more transformations? The Omnitrix or Kuro's hair?
I really do enjoy the hair style changes you make, you look great in all of them.
12:01
What's fascinating, because they start with the face forming, you can still see Diamondhead's face features in the Albedo transformation. Meanwhile, with Ben's you can barely see the face from behind. Really shows that this was was actually redrawn.
42:20
The only reason I can think of that Albedo can't deactivate it is that Albedo doesn't know the code. Who knows, maybe Ben configured the codes himself and hey, maybe it's a reference to Star Trek in-universe.
i think he probably got it from Azmuth when they were talking, which is why he says I have a plan
@@eatstudio9244 Yeah, that's definitely possible. I just don't think it's likely given how Ben instantly got the idea with barely any input from him.
I think the Omnitrix bestows sentience to the Bioid army along with a transformation. It's kinda like the DNA itself is reacting rather than the Bioids themselves.
I’m surprised u didn’t mention that this was 1 of the few times ultimate swampfire actually uses his blue flame stream
He mostly uses his seed and explosive fire bean things moving forward
I imagine Ben found out how to remove the omnitrix between alien force and the original series. He did after all have it removed in that time, so it’s possible he found out how the self destruct worked then too
The best way not to trip a self destruct is knowing how it’s set off. Given Ben’s tendencies to mess with the Omnitrix it’s for the best.
I always thought that Azmuth could have told him how to activate, and deactivate self destruct mode when they were talking in the woods
@38:32
I would imagine after War of the Worlds, Ben would want to learn more about Voice Commands, so Azmuth may have given basic codes for Ben to utilize, and decoupling and destruction were in there.
@@samdalseide5060 i think he knows about the bad firewalls and glitches but idk havent watched it for a while
Personally Ultimate Humungousaur is my favorite Ultimate design.
These OS and AF breakdowns were awesome, thank you so much for doing them. I'm exited for the UA and OV breakdonws in the future
