I honestly think this movie is really imaginative and the story isn't bad. The concept of lethal spirits upon contact is cool in contrast to how human spirits aren't show a different life forms on a biological level but also on a xeno-spirit level. Combined with the world building of reverse engineering phantom energy to create city barriers is also a cool concept. The designers who made this visuals (RIP Yasushi Nirasawa (guy who designed the main phantom soldiers) and the executives who approved of the final designs to be put in the movie deserve a lot of praise. In my opinion if this movie was a television series that came out today I'd totally watch it. It's just that creative.
Yknow, I never clocked it when I was younger, but those soldiers in the Shield Center had absolutely no chance, because I'm pretty sure those guns were, yknow, regular bullet guns, not anti-phantom weapons.
“I think we should proceed to the nearest evacuation facility.” 💀I remember seeing that part in theaters and everyone started laughing. Neil’s expression of ‘Um… yeah’ was on point 😆
Year two thousand and freaking one (2001), Way beyond its time when technology wasn't that advance yet, we got such masterpiece, very freaking impressive!! Unfortunately, such elite team died later on. I so didn't like their fate, and they didn't deserve a tragic like this. Brave and good members they were. 😢 My Good childhood movie !
Once sector 31's power was reduced and the phantoms started to come through they should have began to bring sector 31 back up to full power. That way not only will they take out the phantoms that got through. But also convince the council to believe that if a few phantoms got through. Then who knows how many more could get in? With that General Hein could use the cannon and prevent the loss of a city. Now then when a voice was saying (Proceed to the nearest evacuation facility.) How many ships got away?
@@ramvincentpaulvictor4365 If they just started to bring the barrier back up, the moment the phantoms breach; Maybe then the phantoms would not have used the pipes
Likely as soon as the one would have been able to enter, they would have been able to get through the other sectors immediately. He remarks about how no living thing could survive in the pipes, but the whole plot point being that they're not living things, they are spirits/ghosts.

Much creepier than zombie apocalypse.
I agree this would be SO MUCH worse than zombies
Right! And to think that in the beginning before they invented bio-etheric stuff, they had no way to even see the Phantoms much less fight them.
You can fight off a zombie... you can't fight off a ghost...

A guy wearing full armor and a helmet while sitting at a desk is very Final Fantasy
The military is basically staging a coup, which is why these soldiers have replaced the energy workers. If you want the literal reason why.
I saw this movie when I was a toddler, and I’ve been trying to figure out which film it was for 17 years
Did you figure out all the movies, or are there still mystery movies that you have seen but doesn't know the name yet? xD
same here but it took me 1 year more 😂 this movie gave me nightmares at night
"What have I done?" Screwed up big time that's what.

Bro how old are u
Based on reality, with realistic graphics of the movie, this was the best movie at that time. In my opinion, it is superior to current 3D movies.

Id probably say a little more then 10 ships got away during this scene.
They did mention the phantoms infesting the power lines likely interfering with them. That probably prevented them from bringing the barrier back up.

@@ashton9699 Yet they can still be killed by guns
Neil didn't even need a wand to disable the prison lasers
I don’t think it’s talked about enough how conceptually terrifying the phantoms are
Ooooh piece of candy 🍬
those fleshless fiends! they eat the souls out of these poor people...
Cast the summon Hades, James Woods.
I love the part with the moogles and the chocobos.
To be fair Hein does die trying to fix his mistake instead of running away and blames himself.
The voice of Auron!
From The Creators of Resident Evil & Nier Automata comes to a new reality of This gaming film debut “Final Fantasy The Movie.”
Жуткий анимационный фильм. В детстве он меня с ума сводил. До сих пор не видел ничего подобного.
And now we have FF games that look better IN ENGINE.
2:37-2:40 I count four ships that have managed to escape the city
There's something more scary about this.
hey its better than ff7 remake
Poor citizens.
