Is there an alternative exercise for those who have a bad knee?I am 79, I have unbearable pain on my knees in that position.

Yes. I cannot kneel at sll with out unbearable pain in left knee.
Great question. I have the same issue. What works for me is laying flat on my tummy, arms out in front. I lift my right arm and left leg, then switch.
Hope Jasper will help. Any ex must and can be adjusted (think thick knee protectors for gardening?)
But... congrats on taking action at your age, when most.people just.sit and watch the telly.
Could arm and leg weights be used with the bird dog to achieve the same benefit as the band, or would it be different (and if different, would it be better or not so beneficial)?

These exercises are impossible for elderly to do, isn't thuer an easier way to exercise core by sitting or on you back?
