- Just arrived in San Francisco from a road trip to visit family. Next day fishing stripers with my friends. I am here for 2 weeks to explore the summer fishing and exploring new areas to fish. Target species will be stripers in the bay and surf. Halibut fishing on the bank.

Try 1/2 oz Chrome Blueback Rattletrap in the marinas. One of my all time favorites. Long casts and it will call in the stripers.

Your 3000 FJ Made me smile. I have a white 1000 FG in mint condition I purchased many years ago for trout. It is my first higher end reel. Well, an up grad from Speros any way LOL Very smooth for as early a model. I think I have gone around the bend since that early purchase. I may have twenty Shimano reels now and no regrets!
They are solid reels. My buddy has the higher end equipment and just fortunate he lets me use it while I visit here. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

North Bay Marin County without blowing spots. Just search coves on Google maps. GL

I am going to be in san francisco for two weeks coming from toronto canada. Hoping to do some shore fishing, any reccomendations on shore spots that i could try?
Not looking for any exact spots , but would appreciate a few areas i could try.
Striped bass will start coming into the bay so target torpedo pier early morning and late evening throwing swimbaits. There is a chance you can get halibut too. Perch fishing. Ocean Beach, 2 hours before high tide. Look structure on the beach like the holes etc.. also visit Pacific Pier and beaches near by for perch throwing berkley sand worms and soft grubs. Good luck.
@@BackFishing thanks alot. Was at the torpedo wharf today but did not bring any fishing gear. Saw two guys throwing swimbaits closer to the rocks by shore. Will be sure to give it a try when i go back.

Did a charter yesterday at fisherman wharf and got a few stripers bottom fishing. Would prefer getting some on a swimbait and casting off shore.
@@jsnchoy How big were the fish? Most of the fish are much smaller now ranging 17" to 22". Just curious, where did the party boat take you? Inside the bay by Alcatraz or Angel Island?

@@fisher_playz3712 Sandy bottom all around the bay. Great Halibut habitat. Stripers should start coming in the bay from the ocean by the time you get here. Check out the shoreline from mouth of the GG bridge to Fort Mason pier. Stingrays and sharks can be had on the piers using squid. Good luck.
