      Being in a soul stone/the infinity circuit keeps them safe, they could be safely back on the craft world on the other side of the galaxy. But it's not the Necromancy you'd think of. These wraith constructs willingly defend the living. it's like an ultimate sacrifice. Not really grimdark. Because nobody's really forcing them to be like this. It's actually quite a noble act. Ofc, there are some naughty spiritseers and craftworlds, but it'd be like condemning an entire nation due to few individuals' actions.

    • @alfredorivera5764

      Actually, they get asked to volunteer. A craftworld wouldn't just agree to put a soul into a construct if it volunteered. It must go both way : it must be asked of them and they must accept.

    I'll be honest, I'm not really sure how being turned into a mecha bone anime titan is a "horrible thing to do" to someone, it seems like a 100x upgrade to sitting in a soulstone purgatory for eternity or being cock and ball torture vored for eternity.

      @dexasmoru8333 2 года назад +4

      Whatever the infinity circuit is, I always figured it was at least two things. The souls in it can communicate with each other and those who interact with their soul stone. And that it was pleasant enough not to be horrid like purgatory... but not pleasant enough were suicide to 'live' in the circuit made sense.

    • @WelcomeToDERPLAND
      @WelcomeToDERPLAND 2 года назад +3

      @@dexasmoru8333 Well, I think the Infinity circuit is similar to the ancient Greek's afterlife. -Its basically an infinite pale grey/black landscape where people just hang out as shades of their former selves, being bored or frustrated with their lives, not to be confused with the Elysian fields, which is the exact opposite and reserved only for heroes and great people, and is more like paradise in the Christian sense of the word.)
      But if you aren't ever put into an infinity circuit I imagine its more like purgatory; endless nothingness where your consciousness is barely there all by itself left alone with its thoughts for eternity until someone breaks your stone or puts you into an infinity circuit or wraith (both of which I suppose would be an upgrade.)

    • @PuddingXXL
      @PuddingXXL 2 года назад +3

      Look at it this way: You'll only ever be called upon in really really horrible times. That means you have to fight stuff that has the potential of eradicating your race entirely, making it probable that you and your soul stone will be destroyed.
      A soul stone being destroyed for an eldar means that they get straight pulled into the realm of slaneesh being a sex slave and worse for all eternity. I'd be pissed if someone wakes me up to say: "Well you know, you already died once but how about we let you die once more only that this time it's very likely that you'll become a play thing of slaneesh. The worst possible fate even considering all the other Chaos gods.
      It's literally reviving your grandma, giving her a full auto mashine gun and tell her to fight that thousand man strong meth warrior group. As a reward she gets fiddled with and suffers for all eternity. Safe to say your grandmother wouldn't really appreciate that, even if she starts blasting.

    • @Azoth86730
      @Azoth86730 2 года назад +10

      It's worth noting that the Eldar are highly fragmented as a species, more so than the T'au (T'au Empire vs Farsight Enclaves). Whereas, each Craftworld is its own faction like Biel-Tan, Saim-Hann, Alaitoc, Ulthwe, Iyanden, Mymeara etc. and there are also the Harlequins and Eldar Corsairs with their own factions and different ideologies. The Masque of Midnight Sorrow, Dreaming Shadow, Soaring Spite, Frozen Stars, Veiled Path, Silent Shroud for the Harlequins, and the Sunblitz Brotherhood, Sky Raiders, Void Dragons etc. for the Eldar Corsairs.
      Not to mention the Exodites with their own Exodite worlds.
      And you also got the followers of Yvraine and the God of Death, Ynnead, aka the Ynnari.
      So, they might be more populous than the T'au overall, but they are too fragmented, and hence less in numbers on their own as individual factions.
      And then you got the Dark Eldar, but they've become their own race overtime with them losing their psychic capabilities and getting paler due to Commorragh being a pocket dimension.
      And even the Dark Eldar are too fragmented, in fact, more so than the Craftworlds. Each Kabal, Haemonculus Coven and Wych Cult is its own faction. The Kabal of Black Heart, Poisoned Tongue, Flayed Skull, Obsidian Rose. The Haemonculus Coven of the Prophets of Flesh, Coven of Twelve, Dark Creed. The Wych Cult of Strife, Red Grief, Cursed Blade...

You can see it very well in the Dawn of War 3 annoncement trailer in the minute 1:25 even the building resembles one of his works id name it but its Untiteled like most of his its a big blue building very similar to the one in the trailer. Makes you wonder maybe GW got inspiration from him since his paintings are very grim dark and from the epoc. Glad you stayed till the end.

    I'm mentally replacing every 'organic' with Psychoactive. Wraithbone is material made from warpstuff, it's not exactly living. But Eldar find it useful because as natural psykers, a substance like Adamantium that you can manipulate with your mind is pretty dope, even if you need to specialize in it before it starts becoming 'putty' instead of 'barely warm enough metal.'

    What? The Eldar forgot how to make certain Wraith constructs? What are they? The Imperium of Man? They might as well ally with the Imperium, just as forgetful as the cogboys, just as arrogant as the monkeighs, and just as fucked when Chaos, the Necrons, the Orcs or the Nids take over. Also the Imperium seems to have a better deal when it comes to Dreadies. Hey, you may be a bit of a Timmah! right now, but if you still want to kick arse for the Emprah we got this big giant walking robot for you? As opposed to you're kinda dead and stuck in this soulstone on the account of Slaanesh wanting to feast on your soul, but we can stick you in a giant walker, and if it gets destroyed, instant Slaanesh! Of, and extra super crispy fun if you are a twin. Only Chaos offers a worse deal.

    Hey Majorkill, off topic to this video, but I had a somewhat wacky ass idea on how they could bring in the great Autismo Perturabo into the 40k setting.
    More specifically, what he would "Be" - Take the idea that his Great Crusade/Horus Heresy design makes him basically a compact imperial knight in forepower and boi didn't the Iron Warriors love their siege weapons and vehicles. Why not for his demon primarch form we kick that up to both combine and push it to the levels of insanity?
    Perturabo in lore would fill in this crazy niche that the other Demon Primarchs could not and how he could go about this would even get Papa Smurf caught off guard, now this would not be that much of a good idea for miniatures because of this BUT for lore would be bat shit insane.
    What if, we have Perturabo essentially become a "Transformer" in the almost literal sense, given the Obliterator Virus and demon engines that can typically be seen by the Iron Warriors, what if the concept could be applied to Perty whilst retaining his overall firepower and "Siege" appeal. Where he can warp his body to transform into various vehicles, even taking on excess scraps of metal to add more mass and even make different weapons on the fly.
    Imagine it, he appears as a typical humanoid Demon Primarch, guns blazing like an A-10 warthog, then when the enemy tries to retreat he just changes into something like a shunked down Baneblade/Chaos Landraider and gives chase?
    Food for thought, and I only had this wacky idea hours ago, but put your additions/hot takes to it in the replies.
