GW has stated that Eldar players have increased recently. Who knew that making new models for their line after 20 years of stagnation would have attracted new customers?
Shocking, isn't it? It's almost as if cool minis drive the desire to play and buy the armies. Who knew it was possible for people to want anything other than another Space Marine in a slightly different pose!

Not really an Eldar player but I do love the striking scorpions, fire dragons, warp spiders And the dark reapers... They're the coolest shrines.
But what about the terrifying Slicing Orbs of Zandross?
Is there any art or lore explaining what they do?

For anyone who wants more information on the Striking Scorpions go and read the Path of The Eldar novels. The 1st one Path of the Warrior follows an Eldar as he goes through being a Striking Scorpion. Shows how badarse Karandras shows up near the end the book as well, he massacres Space Marines and even manages to stop a Dreadnought from stepping on an Aspect Warrior by briefly getting under it an pushing the foot back (I think, it has been quite a while since I have read these books so may be misremembering)

Both the eldar series and the dark Eldar series are worth a read. I particularly enjoyed the path of the incubus in the dark Eldar series
@@walbergverissimo2815 The protagonist didn't just die. He touched Karandras corpse, reviving Karandras who then immediately slaughtered the dreadnought that killed him. The protagonists soul was absorbed into Karandras armour, becoming one of the many Exarch souls that make up Karandras being.
Also the Farseer that rejected him lived. I still find it hilarious that merely being rejected made the protagonist so mad it trapped him on the path of warrior completely unable to move on with his life.

Hope the Pheonix lord books are picked back up after the final HH books are over. Would be great to finally get some new eldar books, it’s been ages…
The thing is that human authors cant adapt pov of an immortal elf beeing, rightfuĺly so. And the reader might not like it at all too.
@@GrimgorRulez If you can come up with an imaginary alien race you can also do POV. And of course the readers would like it. They're Eldar fans after all.
@@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623 Eldar fans do appear to be so thirsty for content right now. It makes you wonder how they'd react if another book series with a disappointing ending came out. Maybe it'd be considered a personal attack on the faction at that point.

I relate with the Eldar on so many levels and Finally we talk about some badass warriors, Striking Scorpions are true predators stalking their targets then dashing on them relentlessly
It helps that their armour also actually looks like the predator.
If they release an updated Karandras after this video it just means they are fucking with you

Didn't know much about Striking Scorpions, other than "they look cool, why aren't they in the video games?" so this was a nice video to see, and they did indeed turn out to be really cool lore wise too. Would love to see videos on more aspect warriors/phoenix lords.

This was fun! While I do appreciate that this video was a nice promote for the new model, and as those take time to design, I won't just expect more Eldar-themed videos like this, the Eldar fan I am appreciated it!
Striking Scorpions are cool! They aren't my personal favorite; I enjoy the melta-punch that is tank-busting Fire Dragons, and Fuegan. I also really like Warp Spiders, and Forge World's Shadow Spectres, but since web-shredding porters don't have a Phoenix Lord, and gossamer prism cannons with legs are weird, off-brand Aspect Warriors, and not in their codex, I'll happily settle to get to hear about the Space Elves with the chain swords!
warp spiders are one of, if not the best aspect warriors, and fire dragons are close behind for me. Sadly we may not see an episode on warp spiders due to how, as you mentioned, they do not have a Phoenix Lord
I love Scorpions sure...but I'm a Warp Spider guy.

If you have not already made an episode on them, please make an episode on the warp spiders, as they are very cool, and are technically more vulnerable to she who thirsts than the scorpions

The eldar trilogy from a couple of decades back is a superb insight into eldar paths, and the descent into exarch then karandras reincarnated

It’s so cool how there are two branches of Eldar military that form a link between Craftworkd and Dark Eldar.
Played Eldar wat back in the day and Karandras was always my favourite Phoenix Lord. The fact the mini totally looked like a Predator didn't hurt either.

Just assembled this model that arrived 2 days ago! Excited to paint him up. I'd argue that more than 1% of other Eldar who want to engage in melee. There's the Howling Banshees, Storm Guardians, Warlocks, Farseers, Harlequins, much of the Dark Eldar... I'd say it's fairly 50/50.
Eldar Phoenix Lords are amazing parts of lore not used by GW as they could have their own cool arc if they ever got the love they deserve.
If you are willing to take suggestions, please sculpt a new version of Azurmen for the next new model. Please!
The 2nd edition metal scorpion minis were almost entirely responsible for me choosing the eldar as my main army (with the Swooping Hawks playing a strong supporting role in said decision). Also, I see no resemblance between the Majorkill Scorpion Lord mini and any other miniature any other company may or may not at some unspecified time and place have produced for some unspecified game featuring armies of an unspecified grimdark setting fighting eachother. No similarity at all. It is obviously a wholly original and unique creation in and of itself.

I rarely comment on RUclips posts but had too for this. Karandras was my very first model and the one that got me collecting ( you always remember your first) way back in white dwarf 172. I can't believe we haven't had a new model for him for like nearly 30 years. Will defo be buying this major mini to add to my others. Great job mate amazing content as always. Will there be a squad? Shining Spears lore would be cool honestly. I was told there wasn't a lot on them but it seems like they are kinda rad
I'd agree with these green boys being the strongest aspect warriors the space elves have and always felt that they were underrepresented, which at least in the vidya games, they totally were in favour of those screaming chicks.
These scorpions could make for cool new proxy minis, if only someone were to manufacture those.

So do craftworlds send members to shrines to study a certain aspect and then they come home so a craftworld will have multiple types of aspect warrior, or is it specific to each craftworld? Because all craftworlders having to study at the same places would be pretty neat.
For the Striking Scorpions, Eldar individuals who are led to this particular Aspect Shrine would have their own anger issues flavoured with a sense of shame and a desire to hide.
I remember using my eldar back in 4th edition and telling my opponent my Striking Scorpions would be infiltrating and warning him that they're super nasty in combat. He laughed it off and when they got to attack I started counting out the dice they'd be using charging his space wolf unit (cant remember which one). He very quickly changed his attitude towards them.

I've been playing Eldar since 2000. A lot of the guys I bought back them are the same guys available now. I love Eldar I just wish GW would do more for them. Not just the minis but the lore as well, Eldar novels are few and far between.
i like this type of eldar. too much eldar come off as a bit snobbish and liking to use their technology and magic powers (call it warp or pyker powers all you want its basically just magic) to destroy things far away. sure its effective and honestly smarter then most factions in 40k but its nice to see eldar completely going ape mode. imagine you are some space marine who has heard tales of eldar fighting mechanics, so you are ready for a long range fight, and then these green MFs with machine guns on their helmet and chainswords come up to you in melee range like orc cosplayers. would damn near ruin my day

Hey, what about their optic camo? I loved the game WH 40K Eternal Crusade and started playing Eldar right after install; the troop choice was basically the different shrines (minus the warp spiders) so I picked Striking Scorpions and was thrilled to learn they had a passive special ability of "don't move for a while and become increasingly more invisible.". If you played these guys right, you could change the course of a battle single handedly.
A video about what brand and type of car a primarch/race would buy. (You about to get the most elite ads revenue)
