I was looking for a channel that talks about fashion in the most fun, sassy, bitchy, and analytical way so I went down below, hit the subscribe button, and turned on my post notifications
I wish that when designers sent more than one model down a catwalk they were in sync when they walked. It's very jarring when they don't.There's just too much movement in all directions. Particularly if they're doing their "signature walk" walks.
Totally agree! I also think there's so many models now with terrible walks that continue to get booked. They should all have to go through mandatory walk lessons with Ms Mariacarla Boscono
CazzaMcSpazza yes I thought maybe it’s just me but if it was my show I need the models to be in sync with each other because it looks so please to watch that way.
I loved the Do collection but I will defend runway shows over lookbooks. I thought Iris Van Herpen was interesting, but when I saw how it looked when the wearer moved, it was breathtaking. I think you just get so much information when you see someone walk in the clothes.
You can clearly see a gap between her and the other model's sizes tho. Not saying she isn't "normal sized" as you say just that she's bigger than what they usualy go for
I feel like most of these collections lack a storyline or even a theme. It's as if they're just putting up clothes that make no sense together. Even Oscar de la Renta who could've done so many interesting things in combination with their location and its history only had a couple pieces reminiscing that. I feel like Peter Do had an interesting story to tell and you could somewhat see what thoughts went into each piece.
Completely agree with that. Some looks were ok, but nothing really forced me to focus which a consistent theme would've facilitated. If you mixed some of these collections I wouldn't have even noticed tbh
I felt that with most collections too. Except Marc Jacobs, which I actually like. The clothes were commercial (which is expected for NYFW), but the concept was there. The collection was inspired by the 60s (and the fashion icons of that decade, like Jackie O), but also had a nod to the beginning of Marc Jacobs as a brand and designer (ex. pieces that were more minimal or seemed that like a "refined grunge")
21:42 why, why, whyyyy??... why is the girl in pink walking like that??? Um, huh?? I don’t understand why walks aren’t important anymore, half these models have horrible walks and it’s so distracting from the clothes. Come on.
when designers uses tess mcmillican as a “plus size” model it makes me mad cause she’s not plus size!!! she literally a size 8! plus size would be 14+. i get it, most models are 0-2 but an 8 is literally not plus size and she should’nt be considered to be. i’m glad oscar used her tho, i love tess. but if you need plus size models they should use paloma she’s a great model that needs more runway work!!!
it's unfortunately industry standards :/ sizes 0-2 are "sample size", sizes 3-6 are "standard size" and then anything after 7+ is considered "plus size". however in this case, tess is plus size compared to the other models. it definitely needs to change.
I just finished watching next in fashion and I feel like those designers did a better job putting a show together in three days than most of these designers did in months
I liked peter do's collection and approach- but im kind of annoyed when a designer says they are inspired by something like horror movies for a collection and imo that doesnt show at all in the clothes. Not that inspiration for something needs to be super obvious or surface level and I dont even mind if its so covert that an inspiration has to be explained to be understood but as a fan of horror movies who would really enjoy horror inspired clothes I just don't see how any of it is referencing horror movies
I def agree, like give me gore but make it couture lol. Edit: but not exactly couture bc I really can't afford it and I would love to wear something like that
Watching some of these models walk reminds me of a new born giraffes. I kept waiting for someone to fall. It looks odd and I don't find it attractive at all.
Thanks for introducing me to Peter Do. His work seems amazing. I REALLY Appreciate a man In a solid black hoodie. I like him. Anywho, I love your fashion week commentary. Luv ya.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I lost my interest in fashion when I started my degree, but now I can watch your videos around my classes and feel like I'm understanding what's going on in the industry. Subscribed, liked, and will be watching more!
Hi Luke, longtime lurker here. Your videos have educated me so much, as I'm sure is the case for many of your viewers! I think it would be interesting to see you talk about Vogue. I know it's a huge fashion magazine, but is it still relevant? What role does it play in fashion today? Hope quarantine's treating you okay!
Sis, Chris’ collection looked like a football linebacker in the 80s meets Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, meets Marie Antoinette wanting to be a shiny outdoor patio pillow from Hobby Lobby. Trainwreck. 😬
cheshire cat oooh yes lol. I reviewed his show on IG and wrote that the Collection had incredibly cheap looking fabrics and lazy draping and that the best thing about the show was watching Leslie Jones screaming in the first row. I criticized other brands also but he is the only one that blocked me lol #tea
I think him being there made the clothes look more alive to him. Or it could be like when DietPrada gets invited to shows, they give a glowing review after.
Yes but Christian has done so much esp with what's going on with the virus he's the only designer who stepped up to make masks. Even if the collections not that goods he's defo got a place in the publics heart lol
@@hautelemode but I think he may get better. I honestly paid no attention to him for a long time, just overlooked what he did. But there are 2 dresses that I actually like now (Billy Porter and Lizzo). Not saying he could be the next McQueen because obvious reasons, be he may get better.
@@hautelemode I don't think his collection is THAT bad. It's honestly more the stigma behind him as a reality TV winner. In my opinion the trends were pretty on point(the ultra sheen metallics, the 80s referencing - almost 'Romy and Michelle'- esque - seen through London and Milan), although yes the collection did lack consistency and the last few pieces were starved for attention and borderline gimmicky. But I feel that's the unique thing about fashion, one persons top 10, can be another person's cringe moments. But I certainly wasn't bored (which was the case with most of the NYFW collections this season) ;)
I would love it if u could review more asian based brands such as Heaven Gaia or GuoPei. Their styles are just so beautiful and nothing like what u see in western runways and I think u would love them as much as I do.
I would argue some of the crystallized dresses and slips from Marc jacobs have a very 1920s look especially when the red beige and blue slip dresses also had the matching head scarfs. still don’t understand Hannah Montana being there haha beautiful video I love hearing your opinions 💕💕 you’ve actually convinced me to buy things a few times haha
I would love fo you to review some Indian looks or just traditional looks from around the world. Indian fashion is stunning, over the top and very different from western wear so it might be interesting to see what you think (you can focus on artists like Sabyasachi or Manish Arora).
16:29 Idk why but I got excited to see Mariana in your video, she is a Mexican model and looking her in the video even when I know she was in this runway excited me😂
i neeed this shade right now more than ever. please do a naomi-esque class roast of the spoiled brat 'model' kendall jenner and how designers have succumbed to getting her in their shows simply for attention
I love Peter Do's design, but the sizing makes me nervous as a woman that can go between sizes. I wonder if you can make a guide about sizing and buying online Luke? Its kinda daunting for a newcomer lol
Peter Do philosophy and business model shows a lot of influence from his time in Philo's Céline. I don't know how much Phoebe did, but he seems like an incredibly polished talent.
I prefer the other video format where you review celebrities looks because it’s more natural, you just sort of talk to us, this feels like you’re reading an essay, I can tell you do care about what you’re talking about, but I feel like I’m listening to a PowerPoint presentation. I adore your content I just think this is something to review!
the way luke set the camera makes him look so tinyy
Im confused by the disproportionate empty space on top half of this view... But Luke is a beautiful weirdo creature, so the odd framing get a pass.
Luke is skinny.
He just needs to adjust the camera- so he is in the middle of the screen.
agreed, but maybe he just wants us to appreciate his lush hair
he is a skinny king
I was looking for a channel that talks about fashion in the most fun, sassy, bitchy, and analytical way so I went down below, hit the subscribe button, and turned on my post notifications
I mean, what have you got to lose?
I'm very happy with this comment thread
Lipi Rastogi me too, made me giggle
XD
We need to get luke to like this

CazzaMcSpazza I was thinking the same thing. It was so jarring, like little wiggly worms.
CazzaMcSpazza yes I thought maybe it’s just me but if it was my show I need the models to be in sync with each other because it looks so please to watch that way.
me: has no interest in fashion and wears the same top and jeans every day
also me: watches Luke's videos religiously
Georgia Craig sammme
Such a mood
Georgia Craig I mean, almost all designers wear a "uniform" sooo
Same😂
please do a 'Gossip Girl' fashion review, such iconic looks and would love to hear the critique
I second this!! 💕🥰💕
Yes, yes and yes ❤️
Yesss
YEPP
I agree!

“White mom shopping for her MAGA rally” omg I cant breathe. 😂😂😂 he really doesn’t like Brandon!!
I am actually stanning a LOT of that Do lookbook. I want those shrugs and the shrug/cami combos DESPERATELY.
That red headed 'plus size' model just looks fairly normal sized to me - this industry is so confusing
Iris Adams i was thinking the same thing
You can clearly see a gap between her and the other model's sizes tho. Not saying she isn't "normal sized" as you say just that she's bigger than what they usualy go for
Yeah she did a video with vogue a while ago and I think she’s a us size 8. It is confusing as she is on the smaller side of “plus size” haha
I think she's "standard size" or something? I can't remember the term
I came to the comments to see if someone was thinking the same thing
Everytime Luke roasts a fashion brand I feel like Coco Montrese when she was like: "Get her, Jade!"
Luke has put more thought into the brand direction of Brandon Maxwell than Brandon Maxwell
Yassss. So true my gosh.
I mean, talk is easy, but making it happen is something else. I enjoy Luke, but he has not done anything to make him an expert.
@@Dalsemien he's interned for Zac Posen
I would buy Peter Do. Wearable, interesting, can be seen "out in the wild"
I feel like most of these collections lack a storyline or even a theme.

When he said "party city" my brain went "WHERE YOU BELONG" 😂😂☠
you should do a gossip girl fashion review (bc most of it was pretty bad and i think that'd be pretty hilarious)
Good idea!
What could be more Iconic than appearing in the back of a Getty image? Yaaaas queeeen. Such a next level fashion critic
we stan
Thanks for introducing me to Peter Do, I loved his work.
I'd love to see some who wore it better reviews. I imagine they would be hilarious.
oooh this!
21:42 why, why, whyyyy??... why is the girl in pink walking like that??? Um, huh?? I don’t understand why walks aren’t important anymore, half these models have horrible walks and it’s so distracting from the clothes. Come on.
It looks like she's stomping rather than walking!
Last time I was this early, we were still allowed to go outside
You sound like the same person who says "see you next year" on December 31st
So two weeks ago.
Been following Peter Do since his tumblr days when he was still a nobody. His work has always been impeccable.
same!

why do most of the models walk so weird haha
I just finished watching next in fashion and I feel like those designers did a better job putting a show together in three days than most of these designers did in months
25:22 someone needs to point out that hannah montana reference and that someone is me
jualiet best of both worlds baby

it looks a lot more psychological thriller, sci-fi or retro futurist. (think blade runner 2049, parasite, sixth sense, etc)
"WASP MOMS SHOPPING FOR THEIR NEXT MAGA RALLY" I died hauisu hiuqgfifq gfgoq
Is it me, or were there some really rough cat walk walks, especially in the laQuan show (not throwing shade at the brand, just saw a lot there)
With each of the videos from that show I was like do I just know nothing about how this should look (I don’t) or is it that obviously bad
That Marc Jacobs show looks like something out of French New Wave, but messy.
The only fashion reviews that matter
Only HauteLeMode would call a hot neon pink business dress "everyday wear" :) 8:20
Anna Wintour is putting SIriano on the cover of the September edition of Vogue. That's her idea of an April Fool's joke. Sick.
anyone still cares about that woman or that magazine? maybe 10 years ago but now it is just a waste of paper
the camera was at an odd angle... quite a large negative space on the top half...
Watching some of these models walk reminds me of a new born giraffes. I kept waiting for someone to fall. It looks odd and I don't find it attractive at all.
Peter Do is amazing, such beautiful clothes, I loved everything I've seen of his.

Could you do a vid roasting/reviewing miss universe or other parents evening gowns? I think it would be really interested x
parents?

Marc Jacobs show felt like a poorly executed Taylor Swift music video.
I just want to appreciate how hard you must be working in order to make such amazing videos so regularly!
The walk of the model on the left at 13:33 made me laugh like Naomi Campbell
edit: A lot of the model's walks made me do this

Thank you, I was looking for it 🙏🏻😁
Ditto, and thank you!! *basking in relief* I want him to always sound amazing and leave us all 💖impressed and in awe💖. Much love, Luke! 🥰

I've a video interview in a couple of hours..I think I needed this for a change.
i just want you to know you've got a fan/amante in Tijuana, Mexico. Great work!
the finale dress from Parabal Garung looks very similar to a dress made by Roberto Cavalli in the early 00's .
THIS IS THE SHADE I EXPECT FROM RUclips. THANK YOU
Those "buttons" (or whatever they are) really look like someone just forgot to take off the security tag
When you're so early you don't know what to say 😂😂
Said the same thing about Siriano on IG, he blocked me 😂

My hair turned white waiting for this video...but now it’s back to solid brown!!! Yaaasss!!! 💜
I love that Luke can say all the label names but not Capote. Cap-O-ti

Try to do some African fashion reviews as well...
Peter Do philosophy and business model shows a lot of influence from his time in Philo's Céline.
