I'm Irish and I'm happy simone rocha didn't do an aran jumper. EVERY Irish designer does an aran jumper and thinks they're edgy and it's so overdone I'm so sick of them. I think her collection did a much better job of showcasing Irish history and Irish fashion history, focusing more on delicate details that often are overlooked in Irish fashion and in the international view of Ireland in general - we're not all rustic farmers and we don't dress that way. I liked the nod to the importance of lace in the video.
He stans for stuff just because it's something he hasn't seen before but like... just because you can, doesn't mean you should, and that dress was one of them.

Honestly as an irish person brought up in a catholic family Simone Roche s collection was so interesting to look at. The styles and fabrica where what the older generation wore and still wear to mass. The white blouse shirts, the gody patterned headscarf ribbins, the sattiny yellow cream fabric worn by alter servers, traditional communion dress lace veils, embroidered under dress nightgowns, plain black sunday suit jackets. Really so many I cant even name them all. Its gives me a real sense of nostalgia of playing though my granny's wardrobe. Hahaha ignore the spelling its a brain thing. Loved the review.
Yess I thought basically the whole collection was beautiful! Felt like I was dying to see some of the looks twirl or be underwater, they were just so lovely and decadent.
It's about (in my opinion) the vast majority of fur comes from animals that are killed for the sake of fur (mink, beaver, fox) where as great deal of leather comes from the meat market (pig, cow etc...) as a a byproduct of a much bigger market.
Hannah Stahl yes! But you also have to keep in mind the manufacturing process for leather is incredibly toxic and not sustainable in terms of protecting and preserving the integrity of the planet AKA the life of mankind

the knitted jumpers are actually very interesting. They were used by sailors not just for warmth but also as a soft of life jacket, it worked because they wouldn't wash the oils from the sheep's skin off of the wool so if their boat capsized they would float. If they did die out at sea the pattern on their jumper would help them identify what family they were from. It's v. cool.
Luke you are so knowledgeable and it shows you do your research. Always look forward to your videos and I love when you drag the designers collections. Thank you for uploading.

Great GReat video but I would have loved to see one of your brilliant educations on the so-obvious influence behind Richard Quinn's pearl ensembles, the Pearly King's and Queen's, an absolute staple of London culture. Writing and patterns have become a regular feature of their suits so it is clear that Quinn lifted almost directly from them (not a criticism at all; they're brilliant).
With the amount of researches and details in your video I don't think I need to go to my fashion school anymore... everything is here! Thank you so so much
1) Richard Quinn in my dreams takes over Vivienne Westwood and brings it back to its glory days when Vivienne's tailored suits put the British on its knees 2) Bella Hadid only looks good in dresses that show off her surgery-perfect body. She can't pull off a drab dress and make it/her look fab. The girls standing next to me in the NYC subway (before social distancing) look better than her.
I was a production runner at the Richard Quinn show at LFW, i'm glad you liked it!! And some of it pretty much did get put on 5 minutes beforehand lool
I truly loved the Quinn collection. The idea of being in the same beautiful print head to toe really excited me! I enjoyed the gold marigold print a lot. I also really loved the huge embellished hood with the champagne skirt

My Mum can knit any arran jumper style she has a pattern for. We all had new ones every year growing up and I still have one black and one cream in my wardrobe. Not as many people know how to knit like that anymore and the fake machine made acrylic ones just don't cut it.
Can I ask how you do such intensive study of a brand and themes that they possibly chose . Or is it just that you've explored fashion and designers to such an extent that it comes naturally now. Love your videos btw!
Loved the Richard Quinn collection. Especially the embellished baby doll dress and face mask. The black and yellow ensemble was amazing! Loved the face masks! But no eye holes please... some how that makes it creepy lol
I'm pretty sure that suit at 12:51 was worn by Chris (Christine and the Queens) for her Skavlan performance! She looked gorgeous in it and I was wondering who made it... Thanks Luke :)
Man your funny. Your spot on with Burberry. I always find myself disappointed every season. No one I know buys Burberry (and I live in England). He use to have so much talent. Where did it all go? On holiday? Well I wish it would return, quickly.
I personally enjoy Ricardo Tisci and I like his Burberry collections. He could have fewer looks, but for a well established brand he keeps it exciting versus Chanel or Dior now.
I would have loved to see a little review on some other London Fashion Week brands such as AWAKE or Roksanda, so curious to know your opinion on every single designer worth talking about!!!!!
