To be fair, it stopped what it was rated for. That RTS shield from yesterday was just next level. I know both shields were rated the same but there's just no comparison.
If next level you mean that all around you would die from ricochets , then yeh it is next level.
Unless you’re alone and not protecting your family, never use steel shields.
Steel Body armor is a suicide, its better to dodge bullets than wear it

@@spibipnobody is dying from ricochets, this isn't a video game. For a bullet to change direction after hitting a solid target it has to dump a majority of it's energy
@@spibipwhat you're calling "richochets" is actually SPALLING. Which is only a problem with steel plate in body-worn armor, because your face and chin are hanging out over the top of the armor. A ballistic shield is entirely in front of you, spalling is irrelevant as it can never go BEHIND the shield
That .308 shot reminded me of a certain attacker during a fiery but mostly peaceful burning of a town.

Perhaps the BAM shield would be better suited as a front face anti-spall attachment for the other shield.
It's not what BAM says is 3A+. It might not actually be from them. The 3A is 9lbs. 3A+ is 18lbs. It's from ebay, who know , it could be a knock off.
Well I bought it off eBay's BAM store and it was markered in as 3A+. That's what you get from China I guess
It obviously would increase the weight, but it would work for that I suppose.

Dude 150 bucks for a 3A Shield that's awesome I'm not going to spend 400 dollars on a shield that ill probably never use but 150 bucks for one that stops handguns definitely going to get one

Should have also used
12 ga slug. Original goal was to see effect on arm, 12 ga slug would probably shatter arm even without penetration.
Ultimate test would be a gel torso that included complete arm with bone molded in position to hold shield.
What would the torso do?
@@paskajaakko3965 hold the shield as a weight to see if impact will move it back, and with penetration like the 500 mag, see how much penetration capability the round still has after shield and arm.

It's almost like the shield is making the rounds do more damage than they would normally 😮. I'd like to see a reference, a shot at the hand in the naked vs going through the plate and breaking apart and the extra shrapnel.

I'll b sending the lightest body armour made from titanium by me. It's a level 5
I thought it failed on the first round- saw stuff flying, but it didn’t fail. Then the 500S&W yeeted the guts out
I was going to mock it but it did do what it was rated for so can't fault it.

Great Video as Always. Just for the hell of it, What I would do if I was you. I would use the video evidence showing that it is not rated for what it stated and try to get your money back through E-Bay so these assholes don't get away with scamming people.

So BAM can stop weak pistol rounds! .45 Colt is less powerful than .45 ACP! Good video I guess RTS wins! I wish you'd done the Tommy gun second! 1 .45 ACP round went through but it went in the .308 hole so that doesn't count.

On the BAM website, it's only level 3A rated (9+lbs) for $150. The 3A+ (18+lbs) is $320. You should only get armor from the manufacturer so you know what you really have. Minor research would have shown you this, a bit disappointing.
It also says the shield is made from fiberglass not Kevlar but I still enjoyed watching the video.

@@GoingBallistic it literally tells you up to what round it stops on their ebay store. I don’t think you bothered reading. They also have a thicker one that weighs 24lbs that’s rated for rifle rounds that stops 30-06.

If your worried about Govt, just buy a tank, park it garage.
There is ballistic fiberglass out there, this obviously isn't the one rated for rifles.
Next time try some real .45 Colt loads, it'll definitely hit .44 mag territory and at less pressure. Your Redhawk will easily eat the heavy stuff.

I think I'd rather be in a "Trabant" than use that armour.
The Trabant was made of "duroplast", a plastic reinforced with recycled cotton waste from the former Soviet Union.

Most Manufacturers 3A+ is stab proof slash proof .. taser proof ...I can't say exactly what BAM was rating it however..

Entertaining videos but I have some questions. Do you think those angle brackets took most of the force of the shots? I'm not saying that the damage would be the same But if the shield and arm were pressed up against sandbags so it took the actual force of the shots might have done more damage to the arm on the RTS shield? If you get the opportunity it would be interesting to see that.
