Very good to know. These are real life tests that I am happy to consider in the time of uncertainty.
Go shoot a pissed off meth head with a shot shell and see how pissed off he gets and then no reload if they are saying bird shot is not effective enough and is a old school fud thing what do you think any pro would say these little dinky things this man is not a good source find a new youtuber
That would definitely hurt and the intruder would definitely need a new set of eyeballs! Awesome Video!!
Thanks 👍
yea those shots, may not be lethal to the chest, but think the typical intruder would suddenly find somewhere else they needed to be.
I wouldnt want to blind somebody, if have to go so far as to shoot , well you know
Definitely But if they had 1 shot 6 Is round to bird shot at once It might be pretty cool But the rat shot is sooo Coooooool!!!!!!
Yep new eyeballs for sure
I'd be tempted to go with a 50/50 mix in the Nest. Enough rat-shot to get the intruders attention, and enough LR to REALLY get their attention! Or, get the nest that shoots 4x .410 shells at the same time. Load it with 2x slug and 2x buckshot.
They produced a video in .410 a year ago.
with the 410 load all shot, a 4 shot works great, minimum penetration of walls, but at close range it will rip an intruder.
32 degrees is cold? 😂 try negative 10 Up in Michigan
@@gworks2times The coldest place in Michigan. Is + 16 degrees F at this time. So stop your lying.
Near Pittsburgh PA and temp is 35 but feels 25. Love the R&D, Whether a practical test or just plain destruction keep it up and we'll keep being entertained!
Thanks will do.
3 degrees warmer, lucky you. You must be on a hilltop farther east of me. 😁
I'm from Latrobe dude, that's only an hour from Pittsburgh
I guess a lot of people from PA watch the channel
Fragmenting 22lr's would be interesting to test against the dry wall.
I've had cci hollows in a Beretta 958 hits nasty I tell ya
Sunday afternoon deer hunting. Muzzle loader. It’s cloudy and 38 degrees. Great work guys thank you.
Loved the video! As for temp here in northern Minnesota it's 18 degrees F. The coldest I've seen in my lifetime is 40 degrees below zero. And yes if you spit, it freezes before it hits the ground. Keep those videos coming and take care.
Oh wow! to cold for me. Spitting ice cubes, Interesting.
He’s not lying I’m from MN it really does that😂
He’s not lying I’m from MN it really does that😂
Not quite there in Texas but I had to wonder how there could be water and ice simultaneously. Elevated surfaces
the thumbnail made me think i could masochistically trigger my trypophobia, im mildly upset but still gonna sub.
There is So much I want to talk about here. It's the perfect set up to compare 5.56 vs 9mm for wall penetration testing. 18 40 grain bullets fired at once is like a 720 grain bullet being shot at 1150-1250ish fps. Making it equivalent to a shoulder fired 500 SW mag. It's going to thump hard if you don't squeeze it to the shoulder tightly. I like a bladed stance for high recoil rounds. It allows for more leaning into it.
Thanks for the comment
Does this recoil more than a 3" BB shot load in a 18" barrel?
New Mexico and it's a warm 19° down here in the southern part of the state. Y'all got my sub. Love your channel
Awesome! Thank you!
Here in the extreme south of Brazil it is 33 Celsius. I envy you guys, I hate the heat.
I live in california, it gets up to 115 F in the summers which is about 46 C
the only reason you hate the heat is because you havent had the opportunity to freeze your azz off, once you freeze your azz off you dont mind the heat...
I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 and it's night here and 3c but we've had snow the last few days and it has been down to -3c.
East of Russia , 24 degrees Celsius or 75 Fahrenheit) Thanks for the video.
East coast.. just North of Florida.. and it is 53 degree as of the time I commented.
We live in NJ and it is 45 degrees, feels like 39 and it’s raining. Love your channel, keep it up guys.
Thanks for the comment. Stay warm and dry.
3.30PM and its 18º Celsius in Southern Portugal. Happy Holidays!
same to you
The shotshells are 1/15 oz, so 18 of them would be similar to a 12 guage in terms of payload. So you could just load 12 ga with #12 shot.
This would be a good test to put these beehives against. The increased barrel length probably gives a very substantial increase in velocity though
Besides the cost of a behive. I wouldn’t pay that price. Otherwise I would love one!
The “i don’t know I just work here” killed me
There was a different channel that tested these same CCI "shotshells", but in 9mm and 45. Neither one would cycle a semi-auto handgun, and neither one made meaningful penetration into ballistic gel.
Here's a thing to consider, too, the 45 ACP out of a Tommy gun sometimes struggled with German Pea-coats in WWII. The 30 Carbine did a little better, probably because of better velocity. Anyway, if a 45 ACP can be spotty through a lot of layers of heavy, heavy clothing, then "Rat-shot" will be notably less effective.
Still ... I definitely do not want to receive any of this, even with multiple, multiple layers of clothes.
Well damn...now i am concerned for my duty pistol/home defense caliber.
Well. When i had it. Now i gotta rely on aouisville, or my Drill saber.
Bang, ouch, blood.
That tends to get people to give up
Very good. When sheet rock invaders come, I’ll know what to do.
Would be cool to see you do this with the other hornet nest as well
Northern British Columbia, is currently-22c without the windchill
No thanks. Tooooooo cold
Thanks for trying the ratshot!
We hit 3,2f/-16c in Denmark overnight.
It is literally so cold that your nostrils freeze shut. 😅
Tell Greta to make a snowman for the Day After Tomorrow. Global warming always occurs before global cooling. It's just a phase
Если пострадавший от попадания "дробью" выживет, то его добьет мат хирурга.
Add a “dead mule” recoil reducer to the stock!
Hey, just load up a 6 pack or 30 percent 22. And or add some mix see if you can keep it between the walls.
Maine and it’s 17° hope you guys have a great day👍
You too!
A couple of days to Christmas in the middle of BC Canada and only 50 cm of snow. It's been around -4 to -8 Celsius dropping to -30. My beard freezes over in a couple minutes from my breath.
We should go at least -40 a couple of days.
Only 5 more months of winter!!!
Love the monitor/TV shot. 😂 love the energy Chris
The only thing I could afford for my trailer home by the river was a CRT-tube TV ... in black & white.
5/8 is mostly for firewalls and commercial building's 1/2 is for houses 3/8 is for trailers and manufactured homes and 1/4 is for curved surfaces arches and bends
Мужики, спасибо вам👍 крутые видео, очень приятно смотреть😊
Your Welcome!
Pennsylvania, we’ve got snow on the ground. My grandpa would use these rounds for snakes
So, will it fire .22 shorts? That might be the perfect in-between.
we're gonna try them
South Florida, it's a a frigid 78 degrees right now.
Rich people walls are far apart from each other . .we might have to redo the test 😆 🤣 😂 😹
-24 Fahrenheit - fort Apache interior AK
Great video guys awesome idea and would love to see what happens to the ballistic gell
Coming soon!
@@GoingBallistic we love you
@@GoingBallistic HEY, I don't want to be too picky and annoying, but I think you guys already did a ballistics gel with the hornets nest about 3 weeks ago ( ruclips.net/video/pPqDl8XCCjs/видео.html ) what's going to be different this time?
I guarantee you it will be pathetic!!! Snake shot only penetrates 1-3” at best. The .22 load is probably 1-2”. That is roughy equal to .5-.75” of penetration in a human body.
This guy is so ridiculous he added insulation??? A .25 ACP won’t be stopped by a 30’ roll of insulation!!!
It’s total ignorance!!!
Please do find a better source there’s many good gun creators out there with snake shot tests that are accurate.
@@kingtrumpet123 using the 22 shot shells, but we will shoot it into a ballistic gel Butt
southern california its a cold 60 f had to wear socks with my sandals
Thank you for your work. From Russia with love.(I watch your episodes thanks to the Zёbra channel)
You are welcome!
Glad ya did this!
If you want your walls to have significant bullet resistance fill them with gravel rather than insulation.
nawww, gravel holds the heat/cold too long... use the Kevlar insulation
@@bunnykiller If you can afford it sure use kevlar insulation if you can't you can run down to the local creek and get shoveling.
Holding heat or cold is not a bad thing in winter holding heat is great in summer holding cold is amazing you can always make your outer walls thicker to have regular insulation as well.
You shouldn’t though. Take into account how cold it is outside and what they might be wearing. FBI did a study years ago and said a leather vest and denim jacket would stop a 9mm. Apparently why they went to 10mm then .40.
Спасибо за видео, парни. Продолжайте в том же духе! В Сибири (Красноярск) +8 сейчас по Цельсию. Шапки у вас огонь😊
Привет из Новосиба 😁✌️
I'm in New Zealand, it's a humid 23°C.
guys be careful, God forbid the ricochet will fly!so much work has been invested for the sake of a 15-minute video, and only 1.2 thousand likes! You deserve more! it's good to have a Google translator, you can write so that the author understands you🤣 With greetings from Russia
Well share it with 1 million of your friends;-)
@@GoingBallistic зебра поделилась..с 3 миллионами ))
I'm confused. Why would I want an intruder to live? 🤣🤣
A question I never new needed answered, but that was awesome!
Ребята вы Супер . Отличные шапки у вас . Хороший подствольник , это дополнительный дробовик для винтовки . Мне очень понравилось это приспособление . Для ближнего боя .
Thanks
Well, at the time I’m watching this, at 10:25 p.m., on December 17, 2022, it’s 13° where I am in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The rest of the coming week, that MIGHT be the high, as it’s going to be single digits below zero (F), most nights.
In my opinion you'd have to be rich to afford that rig and forward to shoot specialty rounds out of it but that's just me everything in Canada firearms wise is way more expensive and incredibly regulated or prohibited in this case. That's why I appreciate so much what you guys do because I'll never be able to touch any of that stuff
You can escape we have refugee programs!!!
Oh and it’s definitely not a “specialty round”. Snake shot or Rat shot is incredibly common (in the US) and as I understand it’s available in Europe (I don’t know to what extent).
Honestly I’d be quite surprised if it wasn’t available in Canada? It seems so common to me.
It’s really impractical and adding a bunch of them you don’t help things. But it’s about 15-20 grains of birdshot at like 500 FPS. It’s not anything you want for home defense (or most other uses). This guy is a bit delusional with his thinking. This stuff is definitely not what I would call “lethal”.
@@danielcurtis1434 it's cci and it's rat shot .22 it is a specialty round. Not available in Canada. So maybe check your facts before starting a reply with end of a sentence. I know alot about firearms which is info specifically to Canada and Europe. Thanks for your opinion but it doesn't make it fact
Come on down and we will let you shoot it.
@@GoingBallistic that would be a dream come true I might hold you to that if I can ever make it down there. Here in Canada they're attacking even the most basic semi autos shotguns and so on they're taking all of our rights from us for guns
Montana USA. Alot of sub zero temps lately.
Biden said to use a shotgun. Does this count?
I live in Tyler, Tx, it is 41 degrees at 10 AM right now.
What a great shooter and commentator
Thanks
To anyone who says this isn't a practical setup, I wholeheartedly disagree. It looks EXCEPTIONALLY practical for having a lot of fun! Great video!
Thanks for the comment.
I am in Canada it's -17 right now. Keep up the great content guy's 👏
WAY to cold my friend
My conclusion: great for fun out back / on the range, but mostly worthless for much else home defense wise.
However, I do think it has potential for hog hunting. :)
Yep
Absolutely worthless unless killing snakes and rats kinda says that on the package lol why some of these guys thought it worked and recommended shot shells over the 22s was beyond me
Очень интересно!👍
Think I will stick with something off the shelf. 12 gauge cut shell bird shot. Aims like a slug and explodes like a grenade on contact so there's no over penetration.
loading this with segmented hollowpoints from CCI & Norma would be NAAAASTY
An ouch with every shot 😆 🤣 😂
Denmark, (Viking country) and it`s 30 degree F here, with mild snow.
Watching from Dandry Station, New South Wales, Australia. Love the content. Currently 25 degrees Celsius and perfect... low of about 6 tonight.
As a gun-owner, and as a staunch 2A supporter, I never thought I would ever type the next sentence. NOBODY NEEDS THIS WEAPON!
8:44 southeast Texas 52 and sunny
I would like to see what it look like with a slow motion camera.
Hopefully early next year we will do a video with super high speed cameras.
Everything overpenetrates unless you have people in between to stop/slow down the projectile(s). Police and military have figured out that 5.56 (with the right ammo ) is the best solution. The only caveat is hearing protection. If you light one off in a structure without it, your hearing is F'ed.
Can you give me more info on this firearm Living in Maine great video guy's 30° we received 15" of wet snow today
It's just a 40mm launcher in a stand alone frame. You need a destructive device tax stamp to own one. Yes the ATF will know everything about you.
Love ya work guys can't wait to see them used on ballistic gel
Anchorage, AK and it's -8f here today 😋
In my home defense shotgun is first two rounds is bird shot next two buck shot next rounds are slug I am have the first responders bring some body bags. Tn in the high twenties right now in December
In Greenwood, Ca. 37 degrees this morning. Great video. Really enjoy your channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
South Florida 75. Pass me the Rat Shot 👽 - Huge nasty Iguana invasion 🐊 ~Blessings~
What about eighteen 22 cal. CB caps in the hornets nest?
Just throwing it out there.
Iowa man, it's freezing, and I walk 20 minutes each way to my classes. The weather is super inconsistent, so some days I get pleasantly surprised with moderate weather, and some days I regret wearing my thin jacket.
Thanks for sharing!
Now we need to see a 40mm slug
77 degrees here on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Thanks for the interesting content!
Perfect, Keep the beer cold we will be there in a few hours. LOL
@@GoingBallistic Done! Ha ha!
I got wood slats and plaster mounted on rough cut hard wood from the 60’s. It’s indestructible. 😂
Shout out from Montana! We are having a stretch of weather where the high is below zero for three days 🥶
As Dave Chappelle says "Peppers him up Real Nice" ... Sask Canada -20 Celsius Dec 18 4am
We's be in Phoenix, where the night temps are finally getting low enough to have frost on the windshield in the mornings. Today's high is 65F/18.3C and tomorrow's low is gonna be 40F/4.5C
Thats a nice temp.
Correction: The biggest TV screen would be in the trailer (with a Mustang outside)
Awesome video. Its -4 in Yorkshire, England.
Pittsburgh, PA 26 degrees F
Honestly in the slow-mo shots it looks like you shot air at the walls lol
The rat shot load would probably be deadly not because of penetrative power, but because the sheer overall kinetic force would be enough to break ribs or snap necks if aimed at the head.
Ft Hood, Texas. It was 77 yesterday. Today's high is 63⁰
Originally from the same state as Justin!
In Sydney Australia it's 35 degrees Celsius. Nice work guys
Toasty
Love the tests you guys do
My house walls are made of nothing but full grown pine tree logs
Southern New Hampshire and it’s currently 32 degrees with no clouds at 11:34 am on this fine Mid-December morning.
Salt in the butt would hurt a lot
Just for the info, newly built apartments in Canada have one inch of gyprock, 2 half inch sheets, on each side of the wall between suites for fire barrier. Not that two inches of gyprock will stop much.
Thanks for the info
I stayed at an acquaintances trailer one night partying at @3 in the am shots got fired from somebody having an argument. That night I learned that 9mm can go through five trailers, trailer owners don't really care as long as the TV doesn't get damaged , and no one calls the cops . Untill they HAVE too , ie I accidentally shot Bobby Ray in trailer 3 cause I was shooting at a mouse I heard in the wall🤔
I'm in the uk so unfortunately i can't own a firearm legally for target shooting on my own property or for protection.
Yes...yes we are entertained 😁😁
Lubbock, TX current temp 41°
Scotland. -4 Celsius today, was -9 Celsius a couple days ago. Usually February is our coldest month, so I think it's gonna get much colder at the start of next year!
Ooooo stay warm
Never heard of this Hornets Nest before, cool vid. I'm in Calgary Alberta Canada and it's -31°C (-24°F) with overnight low of -46°C (-47°F).
