I really didn't think it would be that much till I did the math on the weight 18 22lr projectiles. That's a lot of lead getting moving at the same time.

Very cool, I think the the barrels are a little short to stabilize and get all the .22 up to mushroom velocity consistently I’d be curious to see something designed for the HK style like a m320 that opens to the side. Without the length restriction to the shell something could be designed with much longer barrels essentially the length of the launcher tube.

Make a long shell adapter which is steel instead of aluminum with thick steel liners, so you can fit like 18rds, and then chamber it for .22 WMR or even .17HMR

What I’d personally do if I owned a 40mm grenade launcher (I’d love a China Lake to be more specific, but those are hard to come by):
I’d primarily use the 12-shot and 18-shot adapters, for high velocity hollow point rounds for the former, and rat shot for the latter. For the former, there is rifling for the high velocity hollow points to grip to, thus becoming more accurate and more likely to hit a target head on, mushrooming the bullet. For the latter, rifling actually affects accuracy negatively, on top of the 12-round load also reducing the overall payload. While the power of the latter load is still less than some pistol and most intermediate rounds, the lack of penetration means the target will likely be forced back with that kinetic energy, and gain some broken bones in the process.

OK, the 40mm hortnets were bad ass and the first time I might consider a .22 for home defense. Now the "less than lethal" I would argue are MORE lethal. Reason being if you shot someone with those dam plastic ducks you would have a seriously pissed off attacker who would very likely kill you for it! Great vid and earned a sub.
