Rounds used were MK211 Raufoss, M903 SLAP, and the MK263

Raufouss is very impressive. I didn't expect that after the first one.
RUclips is overlaying it ads over your video. You start talking but the screen shows medicine. I think the greed of RUclips is to the point that they are making everyones videos less appealing when there is up to a 4+ minute ad before many of them. Thank you for your content

@@robertnichols2283 must be selective, if I completely disable my ad blocker it disappears. When ad blocker is left at default, the ads reappear, when ad blocker is set to block, I get even more ads

SLAP has been a small revolution in ammunition technology. Improved performance without relying on depleted uranium.
And sometimes your rifle explodes in your face... great revolution.
@@jackmclane1826 Kentucky could have had counterfeit ammo, with bad gunpowder loaded in. Slap rounds are expensive and people will try to sell self made ones.
@jackmclane1826 rifle wasnt designed for those pressures plus it had a brake on it, most bolt action rifles arent designed with the pressure those things generate they are meant to be fired out of a hmg.

@@jackmclane1826it's somewhat true though. You're not supposed to fire sabot rounds through a rifle that has a muzzle brake like on that rifle repeatedly. Since the discarded sabot can catch and cause a catastrophic failure on the next shot. Sure it's rare but it can happen. Also those slap rounds KY was using could very easily have been old/bad from sitting(aka the powder goes bad and doesn't burn like smokeless powder is supposed to. It depletes and will burn like a firecracker but with the extra energy. So basically it's a grenade at these massive pressures).

Absolutely thats a 1oz + projectile moving at that speed.

Said for years it wasn’t likely a powder issue it was a muzzle device issue. I saw no way Mark Serbu could determine the exact type of amount of powder in the one that nearly killed Scott. That’s kind of a giant piece of the puzzle…. All it takes from my understanding having made 9x19 sabot rounds that go 2400+ fps from a G17L, (I did my own load development) you gotta use a LOT of powder for reasons I don’t feel like taking the time on my phone to explain via a couple paragraphs.
Any muzzle blockage will spike chamber/barrel pressure astronomically…
I will say the main reason for the high powder charges is low friction and light projectile. Smokeless needs pressure to burn correctly, which is hard to produce consistently with normal powder charges in the above situation.
Backpressure for sure caused scotts catastrophic incident.
The perfect storm of a relatively feeble design for a rifle combined with a massive brake.

3. I’m going ballistic trying to find some ballistic testing on 9mm major. Do you think you could hook a brother up? They can be purchased or if you have the ability to reload 9mm you have everything you need. Would seriously love to see some good testing. As far as I can see nobody else on RUclips is wearing jorts or testing 9 major.

Yeah, like twice as fast. Very cool. they also make saboted depleted uranium darts for the 25mm and 40mm autocannons. very destructive on engines and AFVs
Yes it was fast, but you could clearly see that it was not stabilized well and would be terrible for long distance shots.

Imagine how flat that shoots out of an M2, no wonder it held the longest confimed kill for a hot minute.

I like you guy's videos when I see them in my feed. Glad you're doing this channel. Just think could get alot more views especially if the shooter talked less and you explained faster. I think the videos should be shorter or longer depending on the algorithm you're trying to hit. Only wish you success on the channel. Really cool rounds always!

I think a decent magnet would be the secret weapon finding the rounds. I don’t know if that stuff is magnetic or not but if so it’s a good idea.

You should think about bringing a themal inspection camera with you, to find the hot projectiles after shooting them. It may help in recovering them while they are super hot.

I'm pretty sure it was the Raufoss round that went all the way through and hit the back plate. The back plate really moved a lot on that shot and the hole in the rear plate of target lines up with where the back plate was hit.

I was a field tech doing setup at the Holloman high speed test track when they tested a hyper velocity penetrator.
Aside from being much larger, the holes it made in multiple two or three inch slabs looked a heck of a lot like the ones y'all just put in those plates.

Raufuss was very impressive. After the raufuss I right away thought you should of put 4 plates for the slap
I always forget how devastating Raufuss rounds are, imagine taking fire from a M2 with a belt of those loaded up thats nightmare material.

@@Njazmo oh 100% but they probably inspect the rounds closely (pretty sure they mentioned something along the lines in the past) maybe even the supplier plus they are using a weapon that in the worst case scenario would atleast release part of the blast to the side and front instead of the entire force going straight back at the shooter like in the KB incident

Have you guys done ball bearing tombstone armor yet?. Shouldn't be too expensive but you can get a good mix of sizes and then they should get a nice dense fill.
