Agreed. I’d rather have the explorer version for small runs, Hull B for safe runs and stick with the C2 for Bigger cargo runs. (I really want to stick a raft in that list)
I have an ES for casual exploring and want to get a Hull B as well. I don’t need a ship bigger than that for cargo as it’s just too large for a small operation although I am keen on picking up a Galaxy next time it pops up to use as a long range explorer and home base offworld.
@@velocitymg yeah as time goes by I’m slow downgrading my bigger ships to the smaller ones. It’s a shame but wasn’t unexpected I still think I’ll hold on to the c2 and Hull C but appreciate it might be more difficult. But I guess I’ll wait and see. The Galaxy is a funny one, Anvil are my favourite manufacturers, their new displays look great but was never drawn to the Galaxy. Not sure why, maybe because I tend to have specialised focus ships that a more rounded module ship wasn’t on my radar. But with bigger ships slowly less appealing maybe a single module ship that has a variety of roles is the way to go.
I kind of wished they would widen the ramp on the CL a bit since it wouldnt even change the ships geometry much but would make loading easier and also would allow you to exit the ship from the rear while fully loaded and maybe ever so slightly increase the height of the cargobay just a tiny bit so you don't have to literally scrape boxes into the top row where you barely have a centimeter of tollerance up there which makes manually loading frustrating at best if not somewhat impossible if you want to actually fill up the whole 128scu, which seem to be more of a theoretical maximum than a practical cargo capacity.
10:19 I love that you can see that window panel from the kitchen side mirrored on the habitation side but they colored it blue instead of making it a window. But that pointless shelf was more important than having another nice window to look out.
My first impression of the Zeus is that it feels a lot smaller and much more cramped than I expected.... Nice cargo room, but as usual useless cramped ramp and ramp door.
I agree with you. I have a C2 for Cargo and the C1 Spirit that replaced my Cutty Black for utility fights. Ship tractor beams still seem a bit clunky. The Zeus is cool but Im not sure of the need. The ladder to me is its best feature.
It's so easy to use the C1's ship tractor beam to place and remove the third middle 32scu box. There really is no need for a ladder. Love my C1 as it is now. Will be glad to see less around the verse now with all the Zeus fan boys moving on!
The blocking off of the ramp by the cargo is the big thing for me on this one. If it wasn't for that, I'd add this one to my hangar and probably use it over my c1. I can just foresee plenty of times where that would just become an annoyance to me.
It is so tightly packed that it will be impossible to load and unload, the reason it was in the video was because it was auto loaded. But I like to go to outposts to trade so this wouldn’t be good
I just got to play in The Wave 5 PTU last night, first time hopping in my Zeus CL, I love it but I'm a little concerned about the weapon capacitors, I see it says 33 on your screen in this video but when I played I only had 10 and when I cranked power up it gave me a Max of 15 shots which is very bad I think I'm not sure if that's a bug or not
The condition by which you have to work, makes the higher cargo grid limit a questionable bonus/positive feature. As it is harder to do it is less value. I will happily stay with my C1 in my fleet and a Taurus ingame purchase to make the Zeus a none purchase.
Another person got 152 boxes on the floor, and a few more on the walkway at front of cargo area for a total of 156 SCU. So that would compare to the max fit of the C1 when not using the snap grid. Would have been nice to see a bit more with the tractor beam. Does it work like atls or max lift? Seems to work like the max lift which seems odd.
Yes defo could cram more in, the tractor beam was bad to use it was so sensitive and hard to fit boxes in I am editing a video currently the c1 vs the Zeus and I use it a. It more there, it’s like the normal ship tractor beam the atlas is way better
Wait, can it only carry -eleven- eight 4x4’s? That means a Raft is superior… especially with current cargo missions where most boxes are 4x4’s (I’m halfway through Member status). I presumed it could carry three high on a 6x8 grid, which would yield 12 4x4’s… That would have meant it would be superior to the Raft albeit with less quantum range (but enough). I still like it and will get a CL with store credit though. Not sure about the ES though. It has more quantum range but no real use case for that yet, so the only other benefit of the ES is a fourth S2 shield generator… Think I rather keep my Raft instead if I need the range… Cheers Meninx, this was useful. o7 (Edit: Due to the uneven grid width with weird ‘lobes’, the CL seems to be only able to carry 64 SCU worth of 4x4 containers, which is an important metric to me for cargo missions.)
Lighten up, the Raft is actually inferior to the CL, Rafts TB isn't working, crane also not working, and its paint-drying slow. Raft is a nice novice/starter ship, and i luv it, yet its a eunuch atm
@@davewills148 Not denying the Raft is a tad slow, but it’s more maneuverable than a Zeus (check Erkul). You can land it conveniently close to a cargo elevator and load it up very quickly with a MaxLift TB. I’ve been testing it with Interstellar cargo missions and it worked better than expected. With the Raft’s cargo grid you don’t have to do math to check if something will fit or not. But with the CL you will need to. Plus you can’t do medium missions. The Raft gives me a space truck feel when I want, just like the Caterpillar does, while a C2 in reality is superior. Not all things are about rationale though. Sometimes it’s about ‘feel’. And I can have both ships if I want. I would have loved a Zeus with a 6x8 cargo grid base. But sadly it’s 5x8 with two inconvenient 7x2 elements. It’s still a nice ship, but it’s less than I had hoped for. If one thing, the ships CIG now is able to create bode well for a (Mk2?) Taurus makeover. o7
I got the ES. Interesting seeing the difference visually - Thanks for sharing
You are welcome

Yes I agree a window would have been better
They want shelves for you to put all your pekos and challenge coins on! You can't put pekos and challenge coins on a window!

Defo the ladder is best feature, I would say cargo space is too but it is too compact, it will be a nightmare to hand load
I am hearing from PTU they nerfed the C1 cargo grid to only allow 2 32 in the grid, they pulled the grid in from the sides.
Oh I can defo check that out cheers

@@NoobsGamingSC, I was going to mention this in the comments about how tight the cargo gets. I was disappointed when I found this issue myself.
This should have been larger and replaced the Connie series. Would have been amazing with 4 size 5s and a bay big enough for a Ursa.

I agree I have just dropped a video comparing the two

Can a 16 or two fit in it?
@@billkranz8035 you can get 4x16 in the bottom instead of the 32s
I couldn’t get the tractor be to work at all
couple of things, you may need the power on, you have to be in SCM mode not nav

Yea, you could play with the config at the back of the ship where it is 7 scu across, bit its like a T shape, in width
cant wait to melt my C-1 for this ship😉
I think the cargo part of the cl will
Let it down, it feels like it will be a nightmare to fill by hand
I think you're overthing it.
As a cargo runner I know the pain of loading cargo
That so nice, can´t await the toilets to work
