Thanks Doc. I have a 2009 Road King. Bought a full set LED from amazon. Worked and fit very good but yes, no visor on the passing lamps. Price was very low. 👊
Thanks Doc for the informative vlog. I especially liked the mini screw drivers tip! Any thoughts on LED replacement bulbs for the standard light bulbs? Thanks for your time
You always have great videos. Just to let you know, I installed a used set of LEDs in my 2012 Electra Glide Classic. I used the nesting rings and it all went together fine. I don't know the brand but they are not as deep as the one you had in the video. With used you don't get directions. I don't know if it would have worked without but they fit so I used them. I had the LEDs on my 2007 Ultra. I hit a deer and broke them clean off the bike. With some internal repairs and sanding and buffing I installed them on the Classic. Big improvement over stock. I just have to get the adapter harness installed on the Classic so they stay on bright and dim. You maybe could do a video on installing one if you are looking for new content. It is an easy install but I don't think a lot of people know you can do that. I have found that the aux. lights will come on if the switch is in the acc. position. You just have to turn them off with there switch.
Upgraded my 2002 EGS AUX/Headlamp with LED's. I had to grind the lip down on the trim rings, only a 1/16" but it's enough to not fit. It's literally a night and day difference.
Beautiful XLCR over your shoulder Doc!!! FYI I used Kuryakyn Prism LED headlight & auxiliary lamps, they fit perfectly except for the headlight pigtail which I ordered separately. They are neat since the LED ring around the lamps can be any color. I matched green with the Radioactive Green FLHX & orange with the XLCR…
Aircraft landing lights are 12 volt seal beams and will fit the passing light bucket great. Used them for years, but did go LED now on my 04 Ultra. Less amps for same amount of output.
Can you make a video on installing the old tin style headlight visors(p/n: 67752-77T) on a road king or Electra glide. I've heard many people say they had issues getting them to fit tightly or could get the bezels to close up, said H-D's instructions weren't the best on those parts.
So Doc! I upgraded my headlight on my 2012 Ultra with an LED one. It totally distorted my radio. I had to install filters on the wires to get rid of it!
What a shock to see an XLCR on the lift behind Doc, no dealer that I've done business with would ever touch one, probably because they don't know what the hell they are doing!
in 2020 i bought a 2012 fatboy, it had/has a flies eye headlight. i believe the headlight is causing several codes 2151, 2261, claiming my brake light, and turn signals have an issue. since all the lights work, i ignore the red light telling me there is a code. i have cleaned the ground at the battery, that seem to help for a short time, but the red light comes and goes randomly. i've not pulled the flies eye out, but i accuse it of having a resistance difference from the other lights, thus setting the codes. any ideals?
Having some issues with led turn signals, Throwing codes L turn & R turn open. All signal & running are working properly, However Gauge indicators show a fast blink. This is a 2013 FXDF, Harley service has replaced the BCM & ECM, No change. I have done many searches to correct this and several procedures with ignition switch and flashing signals. You might have something to correct this or should I just live with it?
Possibly, if you've gone from bulbs to LEDs, your bike may need a resistor for the ECU to see the smaller current draw and voltage drop on LEDs. Just a thought. You'd think the dealership would have spotted that, but mine put a fairing door in backwards, so don't think all techs are Doc Harley.
You need to call Custom Dynamics. They have a signal stabilizer that solves your issue. 2013 and older touring needs one to correct the hyper blink. Your dealer replaced the BCM and ECM?! A simple google search would have given you or them an answer to your issue. Post that shops name so the rest of us can avoid them.
Before 2014 changing to LED turn signals would affect the turn signal module. You haven’t understand HD created the system so the operation would turn off on its own ( yes older bikes you had to hold down the button). Change the resistance like bulb to LED and the “system” does not know how to deal with it. Installing a aftermarket “resistors” in the wiring with the LED units usually returns the resistance back to factory specs. In the early days these resistors would get so hot it would melt item’s nearby…..Doc
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Thank you so much, They told me the can bus doesn’t the need resistors . However they did not fix the problem either. I will see if there is a plug in harness i’d rather not cut and solder wires. If there is not one it just throws the signal codes, I’d rather be seen with the additional working led’s. I can put up with the codes. Think you have a great channel, Love the tech tips😎

Love ❤️ the videos thanks very informative
Patience Doc, patience Doc.
Love the little screwdriver pro tip. That cafe racer on the lift behind you is SWEET!
Thank you for the pro trick with the screw drivers. That helps.
Regards from Austria.

Cracking advice.
Doc Thanks again for the info!
I'd love to add some auxiliary lighting to my '20 Road Glide Special.
Great info.
Man thanks Doc your unbiased info is always appreciated! Keep it up man! Thanks for speaking the truth
Thanks for the advice. It'll help a lot I'm putting LED auxiliaries on my 2917 street glide.
Always helpful, thanks Doc. Stay safe.

Upgraded my headlight and auxiliary lights on my 01 Roadking last year, I got lucky mine was just a plug and play.
Glad I did what a huge difference.

A good thought. Just remember they are adjusted differently than sealed beams. I think I have a video on that…Doc
😎👍
Big thumbs up for the channel...
Couldn't stop looking at that beautiful CR 1000 in the background.
And they wonder why I did the video in that location 😆….Doc

@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson yes about 17 amps.
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Do you remember grounding the field on the old 6 volt generator just to run the passing light?
Thanks Doc ! I'm looking to upgrade mine,( 02 Electra) still deciding which way to go.
Upgrading to led can trigger your ECM as well
If you are talking about turn signals and the Turn signal module or BCM…Yes…Doc
I bet some will still get it wrong, or not be able to complete the change. 🤔🤔🏍💨🏍💨

Hey Doc, why don’t they make auxiliary lights for the Freewheeler? At least I haven’t been able to find them.
Used to be a $7 bulb
