    Hey Doc, thanks for showing how to do this. I used a #7 drill bit inside the old fitting to keep it from collapsing then went at it. Thanks again!!!

    A good upgrade would be CVPerformance's high flow elbow 5/16-3/8 with their high flow petcock and line. No risk of fuel starvation during hard riding. They also have some high quality needles, jets, emulsion tube, accelerator squirter, and adjustment knobs.

    Or just put a good carb on the bike. Another case of the factory cutting corners. The brass inlet should have been on there in the first place.

    • @PanM8
      @PanM8 4 года назад +1

      Jimmy_Jim_Jim_1234, yeah....EVERYTHING, should be free. Right? The company should stand behind a twenty-six year old part. It's not a service. It's an updated part. And how many people still have an original CV carburetor on a Sportster or big twin Evo, anyway? Back then, people ripped them off, and replaced with Mikuni or S&S shorty E carb.

    • @johnd5398
      @johnd5398 4 года назад +1

      @@PanM8 These people don't actually KNOW anything about what's happening in these videos... they're just here trolling whatever comes up on their feed. They're even whining about why the piece is pressed instead of threaded -- which you and I both know will leak from day one and be a huge pain in the ass... not to mention that that inlet has to be placed at different angles for different applications.
      They're clueless.

    Doc, I have a 2005 Electra Glide, 95 big bore, and 211 cams, K&N intake, and Reinhardt slip ons, and a CV carb of course. Which pilot jet would you suggest starting out with. I am at sea level here in NC. Thanks a bunch. Having a hard time getting it to idle after starting. After a ride it idles fine just a little higher. Tried turning the idle screw to bring the rpm's to 900 - 1000, but after riding it and stopping at at light, the idle is way too high. I am sitting at about 3 turns out on the adjustment screw. Thanks for the videos and your time on here learning us!!

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  2 года назад +1

      Are you sure your intake manifold seals are good? A 45 usually does the trick with 2.5 turns our. I also suggest a Dyna jet kit...Doc

    • @Big88Country
      @Big88Country 2 года назад

      @@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Thanks a bunch Doc! I have ordered a rebuild kit for the carb, a few bigger jets, and the intake seals. After replacing the seals, I will take your advice and start with a 45 and see how she does. Also, are you talking about the seal from the carb to the manifold, or the seals from the manifold to the cylinders? Probably best to change bot huh! Got it all on order Doc!! God Bless!!

      @Big88Country 2 года назад

      @@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Hey Doc, I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake where it seals to the jugs and did not get a rise in the rpms or any change at all. Sounds like the seals are good, but I will put a new carb to intake seal on when I pull it off. Thanks you Sir for your time and knowledge and your videos!!

      Isn't it will leak if it was threaded ?

    • @SIERRA-dx9wm
      @SIERRA-dx9wm 4 года назад +3

      Material of carbs body is brittle and very easy to strip out. Back in day Chevy carbs had screw in fittings for fuel filter. If you did not talk nice and hold your head just right. Threads would cross thread or just strip out after awhile. That's one reason you threw filter away and installed in line one. Ride safe
