    Losing Grimes is a big loss to the shop. Understand why he wants to eliminate the long drive. I did that for 18 years to the car factory job I held. Almost anybody can be trained to turn a wrench, but diagnostic skills are HARD to come by. There are THOUSANDS of parts changers out there which is NOT what you want in the shop.

      To me, the killer on the Malibu is its four doors. Four door cars value/collectibility wise are mostly unloved.

    • @OUSWKR
      @OUSWKR 3 месяца назад

      @@NVRAMboi I loved the idea of doing something different. A 4 door with something different would catch peoples attention. Sometimes a build is more about the person doing it than what others think will sell. I was rooting for the build to get done but seeing it set in the background for so long with other projects taking over the spotlight was disappointing. Granted the Wizard said he only has so much time since he runs his shop and customer cars come first. I understand. I wrenched for 30 years and I know firsthand the last thing you want to do is work on your own stuff after working on other people’s stuff all week. There were times when I didn’t have a choice and spent my Friday night after work till midnight then Saturday 8 am till midnight fixing my own vehicle (engine overhaul or replacement) so either my wife or I would have a vehicle to drive. Not fun but necessary.

      I hate to say it but i see the wanderlodge being the next on the chopping block just due to lack of parts I think at this point wizard just needs to go buy either a gently used or a new motorhome/coach and just do the interior how he likes it and be done with it and enjoy it vs buying others half done projects that have been sitting for ages

    Sucks there's no more Grimes, dude really knew his stuff. As for the commute thing, I've done 40 miles before, but it was driving on the interstate with no traffic. Still wouldn't have done that for 3 years if the money wasn't good, it was about about 45 minutes one way. If he was driving 40 miles thru downtown Witchita every day, I get that it SUCKS. Cause one day its 45 minutes like it should be, the next its an hour and a half one way cause somebody wrecked.
