    I absolutely loved her tone for this character, the not overconfident-down to earth way she portrayed Lara, her muscles poppin up any time action hits, her mistakes during a fight, I mean, we all could see the effort she put on every scene, she made it real, brought the character to reality, she was amazing to me.

      Exactly!!! I love how she's still so strong and resilient, but has a gentleness and vulnerability about her. She made this realistic and relatable.

    Literally Alicia’s dedication to Lara, was my motivation to get super toned like she was for this role! I have so much respect for her, and it makes me sad this movie didn’t get the support it deserved, as a huge fan of the games, I thought this movie was great and I was really hoping for the sequels. Well done Alicia, keep it up girl

    • @canebro1
      @canebro1 3 года назад +94

      @@naria2224 I think part of it was that it didn't feel like Tomb Raider, more like a generic action film. I don't think there was any actual raiding of tombs until the end.
      Another reason is "Why is she poor? Why not take the inheritance? It would give you the resources to find your father."
      And then "If this disease can kill you in less than a minute, how did all the tomb building people not die?"
      A smaller reason but worth mentioning is there was a message of "We picked Alicia because she had small boobs" instead of "We picked Alicia because she is an epic beast".

      As a fan of the game, i liked the movie. Alicia did a great job at playing Lara. Angelina Jolie was great too but Alicia was the Lara Croft i've been wanting for a long time. Its not a great movie but also not a bad movie either. I enjoyed watching it, i thought it's a fun action packed movie. Alicia's Lara is more realistic than Jolie's imo

    I love how Magnus gave her such a diverse training regime, with such variety. She wasn't restricted to only one or two training modalities. She was doing many: weight training, calisthenics, functional-style training, cardio (sprints + endurance), etc.
    I also love how he wasn't just training her booty, waist n legs, but her whole body; every nook, cranny and joint.
    This is what it's about: training every part and aspect of your body, in order to get the best results.

  • @avcbisu

    If you're paid to workout and eat healthy food -like, it's literally your job, and if you don't do it, you'll get fired - instead of having a job that has you sitting over a desk pouring over Excel sheets, and only being able to workout after your full day of work, and having to incorporate healthy food into your time and budget because you don't have a nutritionist, sure your body would be great too!
    That being said, great job for her, but don't be so hard on yourself if you can't attain the same body

      @gavincook4684 4 года назад +39

      Well, I don't think it's about having to attain the same body. The Scandinavian fella has uploaded quite a few videos to you tube about food prep and nutrition. I am guessing you are a lady? If you find your self tired after a long day of work and lacking motivation to train you need to ask your self how badly you want to reach your goals. Trust me a kettlebells and a couple of hundred swings and or snatches plus some food preparation will quickly help you to get in great shape. Check out a lady called Lauren Brooks.

      Well no, you can use stunt doubles and that's 100% normal for action movies. Even if you have a job that has nothing to do with fitness/health, everyone should still do it. If bodybuilders can hold a regular job and do all their bodybuilding stuff off the clock, so can most people. It's mostly about food and then you throw in those intense 1 hour workouts and boom.

      Speaking of Lara Croft and considering the fact that the sequel to the movie Tomb Raider (2018) is cancelled, I think it would be great if there were two more Tomb Raider or Lara Croft movies!
      Therefore, I strongly advocate that you sign a fan petition for not 1 but 2 more Lara Croft or Tomb Raider films!

    Alicia Vikander should be proud. She made a solid foundational film giving a fresh take on Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. I really liked the film and Vikander and the storyline itself set up sequels for real promise and potential. It's a real shame that the MGM studio lost the rights to Tomb Raider after missing the deadline to completing a sequel. It's not only a killing stroke for the storyline they began but for Vikander as Lara Croft. Such a shame for her efforts in taking on this role. I hope that in the studio bidding war, the right studio will really see Tomb Raider for the gem that it is.
    I've always believed Tomb Raider could be a female movie franchise like James Bond. A never-ending saga of films from different runs of actresses. I am very much hoping one of these studios catches my vision and brings that level of "James Bond" excellence to the franchise of Tomb Raider.
    I could see Daisy Ridley, Hayley Atwell, or Gemma Arterton getting a hold of this and being a great Lara Croft. But the production of the film studio and the story has to be treated right. They have to value potential that this series can have and make it great out with gate with no-nonsense. They have to treat it seriously.
    If only I could turn back time and cast Rhona Mitra in her early 30s.

    Who cares if the movie was shit, they gave us for once a lead action actress that looked realistically strong and was a badass and saved herself, with no love interest. That was such a breath of fresh air and for many of us the inspiration to become strong physical women. That counts for something.

      Apples to oranges my friend! Movies schedule particular days for the BTS filming crew to come through, they're not there all day every day. So everyone on set knows to be ready. She probably has her hair and makeup done up more for a workout than she would on a non-BTS day. Not to mention the magic of editing means we don't see any less flattering shots of her. So we can cheer Alicia on but we shouldn't compare ourselves to what we see here.
