Space Station 13 is a game that you're not going to understand unless you play. It's not a game you can learn by watching or reading, and it is a game you certainly won't master in your first day, week or month. Space station 13 is one of the most insane experiences of my life, a game that has occupied my time for over a decade now. Space station 13 is the roguelike of roguelikes for me, the most wonderful piece of human created madness, and certainly on equal footing with dwarf fortress in terms of sheer complexity.
However, byond is old as an engine, is limited in its own ways, and largely prevented a number of people from joining in. And thus, there was Space Station 14 - which is free and on steam! This open source monster replicates the madness and is the early version of what promises to be many decades of stupid just like its sire.

So happy to have space station hijinx again. This is what drew me to the channel to start with. This brings me joy tex.
I've always found cook to be consistently fun job, the amount nonsense you see from your kitchen, and sometimes in your kitchen is great.
I tried it once, and I was hooked. Chef/barman are the best starter jobs that have very high ceilings of skill. Nothing cooler than serving tacos on the escape shuttle. And having enough for everyone.

As a long time fan of your early days I hope to see you on Frontier Station more often! I really hope they flesh it out further so that the normal station roles and antags & events exist in their usual form in addition to the Frontier unique ship mechanics. I do like 14 and some of the stuff it features but maaan I wish they would give shadows another pass. Once I figured out how they were doing them cheaply to save on rendering I can't unsee it and it just makes the whole screen look like it weirdly far away because of the one sided black interior walls projecting up from anything that blocks vision.
So if I strike it rich i can just go, buy my own ship, take on an impromptu crew among the interested, and just go on space adventures?

ive watched a dozen of these videos and still have no clue how this game works.
Game's an experience, you just gotta play it to understand, it can't properly be explained in words. It's an amalgamation of having to learn a shitton hotkeys, specific mechanics and information, learn how everything mechanically works due to following somewhat semi-realistic logic (though at least for SS14 many things are simplified, especially now since it's still pretty early in develooment and missing a ton of stuff), and so on.
