You have no idea how you transformed my style and how much I appreciate you. Thank you for the priceless tips ♥️
At least last spring Massimo Dutti had in European market a proper trench coat in the repertory. It has flap on the correct side, hooks and a collar stand. It is double-breasted and water repellent.
Please address hoods with trench coats.
3 of my trench coats have removable wool linings. Best feature ever! Can wear them all seasons.
Where on earth did you find those.? We don’t seem to get such options here in Australia, but it would be perfect for my areas weather. Even in summer you can need a coat here
Great tips! I recently bought a BR coat! I would have preferred single breasted (I'm full busted) but the epaulettes defined my shoulders and make my waist look smaller. I'm short-waisted so I'll rarely tie the belt. I would also add that if your coat has a high cotton content, you can have it dyed. And, a removable wool liner can really extend your wear-time into the colder months.
Very helpful tips, thank you! I just checked my old London Fog trench coat and it got a surprisingly good grade - plus it has a removable hood. However I still prefer my real raincoat for heavy rain as it is completely waterproof while still elegant and its hood does not blow back in the wind. And if the weather is really bad, I break out the rainpants!
Are your reading my mind? I've just tried on a trenchcoat at Zara today! I go back home without buying It to sleep on It and there you are with the answers!
I think I'm buying it. It has not linen, but I think I can layer underneath
Very informative! I never knew that those flaps had a purpose, I just thought they were part of the style!
Very informative Ellena. Thank you so much ❤. I‘m actually looking for a Trenchcoat and your tips are gold.
I just bought a new olive green trench coat off Amazon. I ended up buying a ‘men’s’ coat because the quality, cut, fabric, colors available AND pricing was sooo much better than what I could find in the women’s section. I’m a tall girl, broad shoulders and long arms. I find myself purchasing jackets/coats from the men’s department as a general rule because of superior quality/fabrics/price.
What a terrific idea! I would have never thought of it. Now, thx to you ....... 😊
.
I am tall and agree that men’s clothing suits me better. Higher quality, longer length in arms and legs and overall length.
No pink tax too😅
Thanks I endorse😊❤🎉
I’ll just love you. You’re my favorite stylist. You have really helped me put together things that I would never think of. Thank you for that.😊 I’m 68 and I wanna look modern and chic and fun. I’m an artist.
its the flap that i dont likE about a trench coat
Do any of these coats have hoods? If I'm walking from the store to my car, I don't want to get my hair and head soaked with icy rain or snow.
Think... Trench= Stylish they don't have a hood
Fantastic video. So informative.
Dear Ellena, I am tall and would appreciate if you could add some links for tall sizes/ tall fitting trench coats. I really struggle finding one in an ok quality!
Many thanks for all your videos. I have taken a lot of inspiration from them. The one that translated arts into outfits was my favourite of all, and I hope for follow ups. All the best.
I got a new trench coat last spring from Banana Republic for petites. I'm 5'5 but in a long coat, I always get a petite. Ridiculous sale and had a discount coupon to boot. Can't beat that.
I love the fit. And it ticked all of Ellena's boxes.
Great information here Elena. I've just checked my M&S single breasted trench. Its got the collar 'stand' ✅️and back vent ✅️. At just 5ft it's perfect for me. Belted coats really make me look shorter and dumpy so I'm happy going minimalist.
Thank you. Looking for the link to the Massimo Dutti trench coat. It is stunning
Wow. Who knew there was so much to look for. But it all makes so much sense. Thanks for extremely information video.😊
Så glad den transcote jeg har er sinkelbrystet med læg bag på, knapperne er brun bege, stropperne på akulrene sidderpænt, så udfra Elena dine anbefalinger er den rictig god, det er dejligt at få benræftet.
I have just adjusted three trench coats and yes: shortening the sleeves and moving the belt rounds takes time!
Excellent video! A lot of really good info. 👍
Hello Ellena! This video has been of great help to me! Thank you so much for all the useful info!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for your comment ☺️
Fantastic video. This would have helped me buy a trench to take to Europe earlier this year . Although I think I was very close to your recommendations however finding it in Australia was very difficult especially in our summer. We just don’t get the ranges and features down here.
OMG! I wish I have seen this video a year ago. Must to check my coat now 🙈
Love this kind of video, when you go over only one type of the clothes and detailing model, figure type, fabric, seams, styling.
Would you also give us couple words about maintenance of certain coat?
Waiting for video about underwear 🙏 👙
Wow! All these details! Who knew? Getting one this fall. These details are just in time!😊
thank you for your helpful hints ☔️ weather is changing soon and a good trench coat will be the perfect companion ❤
I wish I had watched this video before I bought my new trench coat!
A very timely video. I have a fantastic Banana Republic trench, very classic, but unfortunately it is a bit small for me now. Still looking for the right replacement. I'm leaning toward the classic, timeless style, but I'd love to try an olive or kaki trench this time. Thanks for these great tips.
Ellena, please, create an app with your avatar to live inside my wardrobe and everytime I open it u tell me about the weather and show me what I could wear 😅🤣🤣 ❤
Storm flap is the flap on the back, below the neck. Gun flap is the flap on the right part of the torso, and it must be only on the right because it was created to protect the gun of the soldiers which was hidden underneath their trench coat, in a holster. We still put the gun flap on trench coats out of respect to the original Burberry model, so it should be only one. Two gun flaps are a mistake that can be forgiven on a Chinese designer, not on a European.
Interesting history note! Thank you ❤
There is something that doesn’t fit in my head: most pple shoot with right hand, so it would make sense to keep the gun at left side for quick release… and you say that the flap always on the right side 🙃 How so?
Very useful information. Thanks
What about olive oil or just coconut milk for the milk replacement
Would be lovely if you had talked about petit, regular AND tall women, so that you cover all of us women. Ty :D
Your videos are soooo informative! You’re the best❤️
I bought a vintage Burberry trench coat 20 years ago in Greenwich market, London. I think it was at least 10 years old when i bought it. It had been shortened but i changed it back to the original length. It's beautiful and classic and still looks wonderful.
I am 154 cm and i love my maxi, double breast coats, the one thing it has to have(if im very picky) is a belt,to sinch my waist or i can use a normal belt to do it. I love to wear them open too😊
I already bought mine.
What dress length should you wear with a coat??
Had my black London Fog for years
Great info!
Hi Ellena!!! I really LOVE your double breasted trench coats so much!!! You ALWAYS look VERY BEAUTIFUL when you wear them!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕💋💋💋💋💋
Thanks ❤🎉
I love your videos. I find them informative and educational while being fashionable ☺️
So useful, thank you very much ❤
Great Video 😊
