That pink striped wallpaper reminds me of those old fashioned ice cream parlors. There was a great ice cream shop in downtown Colorado Springs called Michelle’s that everyone loved. They also had an ice cream challenge like that! My brother-in-law used to own a homemade ice cream business in Sioux Falls. I’m not a huge ice cream eater, but that was the best.
Diane: the ice cream journal is coming along. I remember many of the ice cream stores and creameries I knew as a child. Fun experiences and memories. Carol from California
Mere - body of still water (pond or lake) usually broader than deep. There's an ice cream place (Yup's) north of my town, been there for 60 yrs?. At the corner of 2 state highways. After we married and settled in my hometown, we went by it. My husband was very surprised. His family had frequently gone camping further east on the east/west highway. Plus his Grandpa would take the kids there on a drive out. Quite a drive from his home, but they never drove through town. My husband was very pleased to only be 5 miles from it.
These journals are going to be great! Banana split is my favorite. Not sure anyone in my town makes them anymore. But now I want one lol. Enjoyed this video!
I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some of that luscious ruffle ribbon. Can’t wait to use it in my journals. Your ice cream journals are looking so pretty!
The journals are coming along wonderfully. I love how you solve problems (not having enough wallpaper length and adding the lace pocket to compensate). That is genius! I cannot eat peppermint ice cream either yet I love york mints and other chocolate mints. Aldi use to sell the Friendly sour cream which I loved but haven’t seen it there anymore - I am wondering if something happened to Friendly! Breyers ice cream is horrid full of gums - I only buy a brand from Aldi which is really good.
Diane, such a "cool" subject for a summer journal. 💕 your family's stories. We do not have Friendly ice cream in KY. I do NOT like Breyrs either, Diane. Happy to know you had no extreme weather or tornadoes
When we were dating in the early 80's, we had Bridgeman's in town. They had a Lalapalooza that you got free if you ate it all. It was a huge amount of ice cream and toppings. My husband was 6 ft 7 in tall and very thin. He ate many of those things on our dates.
That paper u used for the first pocket is exactly my fav color. It's hard to find turquoise on a green side. It's like Robin egg. It's funny I love chocolate but not choc ice cream I cant tell you why. If thats all they had I'd take choc. Love ice cream more into caramel..not that you care😂😂😂😂i so enjoyed this thank you
Hi Diane💕 Love all your vintage ephemera you have collected for this theme, so cool. Awesome trims, I have been organizing mine and found some nice things. Thanks for the video, hope you have a beautiful day. Stay cool, big hugs! 🤗
Wow, sounds like you had some eventful days with family and weird weather!! I have never heard of Friendly's ice cream. I live in Minnesota, and perhaps Friendly's is an Eastern states thing. I will have to look for it in the future! 🥰🥰🥰
It started out as a restaurant featuring ice cream desserts. Then they put their ice cream in grocery stores. Now, the restaurants are closed, at least around here.
These are already stunning.Rainbow cones were the splurge when I was a kid.
I love the rainbow cones.

It's always fun to organize our supplies and "find" our favorite things!
