I'm also really happy about how you are enjoying the songs regardless of understanding the meaning. There is music that I listened to as a kid in the 1980s that I only just began to understand the meaning of. Lyrics and meaning of songs are ephemeral - music is eternal.

Oh dear, around the time this album was made? Do you really wanna know? It's creepypasta territory.

interesting to say hunter reminds you of aphex twins and i know they were friends in the 90s, and i know that bjork is a long time big fan of him so I wouldn't be surprised if he has influenced her production decisions.

you should listen to her 2015 album, Vulnicura! It mirrors Homogenic’s sonic palette of beats + strings, with a lot more emphasis on the strings, but with a darker tone due to the subject matter (divorce with the man that vespertine is about). Really cool, complex beats and luscious strings!

Videos from this album are probably the best of Bjork, especially "Bachelorette", "All is Full of Love" (with a different, but in my opinion better mix), "Unravel", "Joga".

You have to watch the documentary where she talks about the genesis of the album and how she sampled all of the percussion sounds around Iceland. It's a gamechanger. Also her use of an all Icelandic string section.

This is when she was On her Way Into another Stratosphere. Debut (1993) was so Good, different in a unique Bjork kinda way. Her 2nd album, Post (1995) started reflecting her love for and incorporation of electronic , IDM and such influences that were Apparent on this album, Homogenic (1997) .
IMHO,This album was The Album that Catapulted Bjork into Icon Status. The Music Videos for this album, there are several, are all things that she usually envisions in her head and translates into consumable entertainment for Us mere mortals to watch for our amusement.

i actually have a Patreon its just i dont really enjoy uploading to it. its like i like the freedom of doing whatever i want in a vid but when i KNOW a vid is suppose to be uncut i almost overthink and like dont talk as much, its weird
i have been thinking about livestreaming reactions and uploading uncut streams to Patreon instead of the videos!
