well i think lately she's been really into arca, shygirl, and sega bodega, she's collaborated with them several times i think? so maybe that's the kinda music she likes nowadays.
Bjork is still around still making music as creatively polarizing as she was in the 90s (if not even more polarizing now). She's still touring and dj'ing, and she's into musicians like Arca (they made a whole album), Death Grips, Rosalia, Shygirl, Sega Bodega and other artists in the queer "deconstructed club" scene. I hope you react to Arca!!
"Alsemanche", the word repeated at the end of Joga, is kind of her catchphrase. There are many instances in her music where she says it or different versions of it. It's a meme in the bjork fandom. Alsemanche forever
she released an album in 2022 inspired by gabber music or hardcore techno and clarinets lol, 'atopos' it was the first single and also has a fun video. and she has a series of podcast talking about all her previous albums.
You should check out something new from her. I'd recommend "Black Lake" with the music video. She filmed the music video in one of the seemingly dormant lava tubes that later became part of the Sundhnúkur eruptions. And yes, Bjork still makes music. I saw her live in 2007 and it was the most incredible live show I've ever seen. Bjork herself reminds me a lot of Aurora. She looks at the world through similar lenses as Aurora. She's also a fan of Aurora.
PLS MORE BJORK!!!!! u need to react to Homogenic, is just AMAZING. If u want a recommendation I can tell u the best order to listen to her if it´s your first time: Homogenic, Vespertine, Post, Debut, Biophilia, Vulnicura, Utopia, Volta, Medulla and Fossora. Hope you enjoy all her projects, cause all of them are 10/10
You wanna watch a trippy video, watch "Human Behaviour". You wanna watch an artsy video, watch "Big Time Sensuality". You wanna watch the most modern looking video of the last century, watch "All is full of love" 👀
yes it's accomplished by setting up a rig of 3 to 5 cameras or so around the subject and then morphing between the images to get a 3d panoramic effect. Michel Gondry who directed this used the same effect for the "Hyperballad" video, and the wachowski's used it in the matrix movies
Hyperballad next! But not the music video. The sound quality is terrible and the full song isn’t shown (like the Jóga video). Do the official audio from her YT channel. thanks! ❤
The landscape is Iceland, where she grew up. It's where the North American plate meets the Eurasian plate and the land is slowly splitting apart. Volcanos, rift valleys, geysers, hot springs, glaciers, black beaches, waterfalls... the place is breathtaking. Perfect for this song. She's a genius. Way ahead of her time. My favorite album is Vespertine.
This song has multiple layers in terms of symbolism. One layer, as said by her in the 90’s, is a love letter to Iceland. She had said that Iceland is a geographically new land with volcanoes and geographical chaos. The “state of emergency” could be volcanic eruptions. “Where I want to be” is the desire to be part of beauty birthed in chaos.
Bjork is still making music and performing today. She also has a podcast where she does a deep dive on all her albums ❤
In a hyperbolic world where the word is constantly overused, Bjork is an actual genius
well i think lately she's been really into arca, shygirl, and sega bodega, she's collaborated with them several times i think? so maybe that's the kinda music she likes nowadays.
she made an entire album with arca didn’t she ?
@@pjmlemon3280 they did yeah! in vulnicura and utopia
Pleaseee keep doing Bjork, she's a talent. Do Hyperballad or Stonemilker next, please

"ahead of her time" is right 🧡😎
Exactly, Brady. Exactly.
Please react the whole Homogenic Album, it's amazing
bjork has always worked with avant garde artists, thats the reason everything its ahead of her time, her discography and videography are insane.
You should check out something new from her. I'd recommend "Black Lake" with the music video. I first heard this late at night in a car follow my my dad riding in an ambulance. Sacred emergencies.
She’s still ahead of her time.
so all that Icelandic in this song is basically gibberish. instead of going ‘lalala” bjork tends to sing random phrases just to fill in the gaps :-)
true masterpiece
react to Play Dead (also by her)
Please check out more electronic music:
The knife: Heartbeats, Silent Shout , Neverland
