I made this video since VRChat updated from 2019 SDK to 2022 SDK, this comes with many changes, including a new unity engine update!
=======================================
Upload your avatar to the quest with this tutorial! I go over some basic information on compacting your avatar down a little ^-^
For more advanced stuff I'd recommend watching other videos on general optimization tips and processes!

You have single made my vr experience so much better your tutorials are easy to follow yet indepth your amazing hun
🥺🩷
This was an amazing tutorial, I made avatars back in the day but now everything is different, my friend taught me the basics of pc, and you taught me how to make a fully quest compatible version! Thank you so much. So easy to follow.
Just started using unity. I finally found the avatar I’ve been searching for for 2 weeks and didn’t realize the steps to make it quest compatible. Most of my friends are on quest so they can’t see it.
This should help me. I’ll be trying this when I get home
For the hair if u wanna keep it the same as the pc one, I just yoinked the texture from the quest version in booth from same author and added it to the manual quest version and works just fine :p
helped me a lot thank you
I have a question from the other video, do I need to download the shaders if the model came with it?
i keep on having this problem with converting the shaders on my avatar to the toon lit shaders.
Context : im using a Vroid avatar
every time i would change the shaders on my avatar, the transparent meshes (so like the eyes, the eye shine in front of the eye, eyelashes, parts of clothes etc) would just turn to black. And i understand that quest doesn't like transparent meshes, but when i watch youtube videos like these, they always change the shader to the toon lit and their transparent meshes dont turn black or ugly like mine?
what is the problem? do i have to fill out or cut down the transparent parts of the mesh to the actual texture?? idk, please help
I am having the same issue too did you ever figure out what was up?
@@gsamalot no i didn't sadly! I've asked discord servers and such about my situation and the replies were just about how quest cant handle some shaders. I hope you have better luck in finding a solution :D
I'm tryina remove physbones but on the avi i have, they're not in the actual armature. Instead, it has a object titled "physbones" that houses all of it, so i'm a bit stuck I think
Well you found exactly where they are, now just navigate go the one that controls what you want removed and delete it
Is there a reason why under my "supported platforms" section in the SDK it only says Windows? I switch to the android build and it still doesnt upload for quest :(
same for me idk
Did you follow part 1? There is technically a "wrong" way to install unity so that the android SDK doesnt show up
you probably dont have android build downloaded go to file > build settings and press on android, then hit install, go back and switch it to android build, should work then
@@neithh5485 You are literally my lord and savior. Thank you :D
@@thebluefoxvn lmao 4 months later, glad i could help somebody
What if, when changing material shaders to toon lit, the shader dropdown is greyed out? I can't select the drop down, the whole section is greyed
Make a new material, drag it onto the avatar, then change it to a quest shader
I open creator companion and press "open project"
for you, it opens the unity model for you
but for me instead of opening the unity model, it just opens the app itself to the homepage and not the model
Do you know how to fix that?
Interesting, i have not seen this. Would you want to reach out to me on discord?
deleting the phys bones, does that remove the giggle on your avatar? ive seen quest avatars that have the giggle phys bones so do you have to delete them or could you keep them???
What are giggle phys?
Thank you for the video! Sorry for the repeated question. But when you select "Remove Component" on the specific body part, does that mean it will become static or won't have collide/Jiggle?
Thanks again in advance for answering my question or showing me where I can find the answer.
When you remove it, it means the script (physbones in this case) will not effect the avatar any more on quest.
Quest has some limitations unfortunately so its a needed thing to do
@@PxINKY Thank you for the quick response! I will see what I need to remove as the avatar I'm attempting to upload haa alot of physbones(Colluison, Components, and Transform)
I can't download the editor for some reason, it gets stuck on installing the editor.. Any way to fix this?
Try:
disabling your anti-virus
running as administrator / admin
uninstalling everything and reinstalling
if you continue to have issues feel free to reach out to me on discord
I seem to be getting an error each time after I successfully upload the avatar to PC, and it ends up preventing me from changing it to Android (or really touching it at all). Does "SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" sound familar at all? If I remove the blueprint ID from the avatar, it seems to work for some reason, yet reattaching it seems to give me the same error. I could use any bit of advice or guidance you could spare, the first half went smooth (I followed your PC guide without any issues). Not really sure what is happening lol.
Hmmm, it seemed to upload still despite this error? It says its compatable for Quest and PC... still kind of weird, but thanks for the guide since it finally helped me to get this mess working in some sense lol!
For quest optimization will be more easy to make PNG photo of PC avatar and put this screenshot as a quest fallback lol
You can defiantly do that, but you can also just compact the avatar with blender
I keep getting an error message of "Switching to Android:Android Player is disabled" has anyone else had this issue with a 5 fingered nardo or have any tips?
Did you import the quest build of 2022 in part 1?
First
Ehhhhhh.... I will have to optimizate a lot im my 120mb avatar XD
I think i will left only on head with face and maaaybe hair lol
bruh it doesnt show the vrc sdk button
I know this is late, but try restarting
alternatively check if you have any errors in your console
@@PxINKY alr ty
It doesn't? Do u use CC ?
5 seconds in and its more complicated than the last one
This is a part 2 to the first, there is a process
If you want a complete rundown thats less complicated, try out the official vrchat docs!
