Mines decked out with tivimate, cinema HD, and all the free streaming apps. Absolutely love it.. Also added 64gb usb stick for additional memory in slot 3.0 to record shows with tivimate. This TV is the best I've ever used. Nice and fast at everything it does
I done the same but do you know how to transfer the shows i record from tvmate to a laptop because every time i unplug the usb drive and plug it to my laptop it won't recognize it and only option is to format
I moved tivimate to usb storage but I don't know how to save recordings on there it only gives the option for internal shared storage, the recordings are still saving to the tvs hdd instead of the usb, any ideas?
Glad you love it. Why not try a larger capacity stick? (This is not a troll comment to bug you, it's just a kind suggestion - 64GB fills up fast and 256GB or 512GB is cheap enough). Do you think 64GB is plenty?

Purchased my X900H earlier this month and today I see a message that I don't know more storage to add another App. This caught me by surprise so that's why I'm here. 1-i cannot believe these TV's only have 4 GB storage 2.-what does it mean to clear cache date ? does it reset the app, log you out of the app or does it just wipe out the memory(sort of like a reset)? Very disappointing Sony has made the process so difficult for the customer. Great video and terrific job of explaining. I just wish we did not have to use external storage to add Apps from the App store.

I was about to return it when i saw other tutorials that 'successfully' attached a 1TB drive, but when you look closely, their Sony shows the external storage at 269gb. WTH??? U can fix the external storage thing forever by going into pro mode(Google how to get into pro mode on Sony TV 900h) then change the usb setting back n forth to select keep usb power on when tv sleeps. Then back out of pro mode with the certain button presses again and reboot tv. That issue will never happen ever again. Worked for me

Sony software at it's best (even though it's Google). It's pretty ridiculous how little internal memory Sony includes in the A80J, a $2K TV. And it's way too difficult for the average person to expand the memory.

This has been the most frustrating Smart TV i've ever had. Run out of space instantly. Can't update apps because no space. I tried the USB trick and was only able to move one app. But in that process I learned that by keeping a USB drive plugged into the TV, it will CONSTANTLY keep powering on and off my reciever. So I cannot keep a USB drive installed. So I'm stuck with the limited number of apps.

Hi Lorraine. I just did this today and it worked. Of course every TV, cellphone and computer works a little differently others and some videos don't help, but thankfully I had the exact same TV as he did (and still I didn't have Device Options in my main Settings list as he had - it was under the sub menu "Systems"). Anyways, have you tried to unplug your media storage device, rebooting your TV (long press on either Power button) and then plugging in a fresh new USB storage device (and formatting, etc.)? Usually turning on and off does the trick (and thus the hilarious IT Crowd show). If that works, then try reinserting previous storage device.

Center button, not sensor button. The center button is the circular button. It's the largest button on the remote. It is the button you would press to play and pause a RUclips video or enter an app.

Hi it's been awhile. If anyone can help it's you. On 2 of my shields when I try increcasing storage Using USB thumb drive the shied will only read the size of thumb drives,nothing else. Tried 4 usb. They work in a third shield . Is there anyway I could have tuned the shields drives off ? Thanks for any help

I tried adding a 32gb SanDisk to my Sony XBR A8h and it didn’t work. I followed all the steps. When I try to migrate after formatting the SanDisk drive and nothing moves. When I try to manually move apps to the SanDisk drive the tv says there is not enough space. I don’t understand since it has 31gb available. Anyone had this problem and figured out a fix?
Worked on my Version 10 Philips TV. Still gutted I can't move pre installed apps but at least I could move a few I'd added. Thank you. Anyone know how to permanently disable the pre installed apps. I've done it but they seem to reactivate eventually.
I did this on my Sony a8g oled and apps would vanish and my TV would not come on. I had to turn on, turn off, a lot and it would finally come on. It would be fine at first then after a few weeks the apps would start disappearing
Hi Philip, I had the same problem! After a bunch of Googling, the problem was that my *internal* storage was too low to move the apps. The TV needs to cache the app as it moves it, so it temporarily needs as much free *internal* space as the size of the app to be moved. What I did was clear cached data on my internal storage, which freed up about 600 MB, and then I was able to move apps one-by-one to external storage. Hope this helps!

Did everything you said, even restarted tv. But when I try to download express vpn thru google play, it always tells me there is not enough space even though I still have 10gbs on internal space and 63gbs on external space. I went through the complete video twice, an still get that message.
I wound up restarting tv to original, then used usb as permanent fixture. Worked great. Was able to install express vpn on Sony and now I get American channels here in the Philippines 😀😀
God Bless brother, I'm still having issues putting flash drive into my new Hisense Ultra 4k, like it says my Kinston USB drive is safety ejected &it's under internal shared storage. Then my second USB storage under removable storage, says disk is safety ejected. I can't moved either at all seems stuck there. I'm going to follow everything in the video and the samsung t7 and start all over. LOL

The newer tvs don’t have pro mode in retail mode.

My Samsung Smart TV E-Manual says that my tv does not support a usb flash drive. That might be the case for you also.
