Very nice, thank you. I really like working from the gift wrap, which gives great control. I didn't realized before that it is coming from the technical mount.
distinguishing between the two makes a huge difference. would you make a follow-up video for separating their top arm? if someone is defending well I find it difficult to get under the arm and start attacking.
Thanks Ben! I will definitely make a video about that one of these days. But, a lot of times it's a game o patience. If they are playing super tight it makes harder for them to create movement and escape. In order to escape they have to disconect their elbows a bit, so they can push on your leg, that's the right time to dig your arm under their top arm. The better the opposition, the smaller the window and the smaller the gap, but there's always a gap when they are commiting to escape.
EXACTLY the detail and concept I was looking for. Thank you. Do you have any other suggestions when they turn to their side and lock their hands so tight that you cant get under the arm top arm? Is there a smart way to reflatten them onto their back so we can take the inside knee position and stop their elbows being so low and so tight? When they are on their side it is so hard to open the bottom elbow when it is connected to their hip

@@MMALeech Thank you man, I have been diving deep into the mount and trying to make my own system. I realized I really had no idea what I was doing from mount and started building a system from the ground up. I only do nogi and there is so little nogi mount stuff out there and so few guys that focus on it. It was Gordon that really made me believe in the position and show that its worth investing time into. Now its my preferred position and I feel like I have a good understanding of the situation when they are flat.. but when they go on their side (which I call half turtle)... I am struggling... but again I try to follow Gordon. This video and concept was a very important piece on the puzzle. Thank you again.
Thank you Professor! Mount is such an invaluable, dominant position we should never want to lose it once we get there. This helps!
It is a great position indeed!
Making the pit stop before going to technical mount was a great detail that I was missing...thanks!
You are welcome Joel!
Great details, professor!
Thank you Daniel!

Gift wrap for life!!
