it looks like a card can only get de-enhanced once per hand so if you played a gold card, it would get sucked by the first vampire, be re-enhanced, then not get touched by the second vampire and if you played a normal card, it would be enhanced then get sucked by the second vampire
I would not say it is enhance in general as as the vampire drain and gold both ran. A plausible explanation though would be every enhance effect is tracked and limited to one activation.

im addicted to balatro, i didnt get my first win for 11 hours now i have won 6 runs, i also love how endless is actually challenging in this game rather than becoming so easy it gets boring like in other roguelikes
I just got Balatro yesterday, and in my first run, I got this combo in ante 1 from a Mega Buffoon pack... Got the multiplier up to 27x. Needless to say, haven't had such an easy run since 😂
It kills me that you didn't check that your multiplier was increasing for all Vampires and didn't think to mess around with Gold at the end. I ran this build and you want the gold joker at the end trust me.
So I guess the game is hardcoded to prevent a card from triggering vampire more than once per hand regardless of what else is going on during scoring. Pretty much every "theory" chat came up with is wrong. It has nothing to do with how midas mask is coded because cards that started off unenhanced were able to be eaten by the vampire that was placed after the mask. However, cards that were eaten by vampire and then refreshed by mask were not eaten by the second vampire. The only explanation here is that cards can't trigger vampires more than once. It's a shame because this combo really ought to work. I was thinking that maybe the game was designed this way to prevent a crash or softlock caused by infinite loops, but it probably is just an accidental side effect of trying to make a game with so many different mechanics happening at once.
I got my first ace in disc golf today! I don’t have social media so I’m just telling my favorite RUclipsrs lol. What is my life? Really great day for this guy though.
The fact that brainstorm is incompatible with the gold mask tells me that the game probably can't handle two gold masks and makes it so they won't show up even when you have showman. It does seem coded in a way that would make having two not do anything.
Have not finished the video. But the vampire only refused to go off if the card had been drained by a vampire before. Which sounds like something difficult to code by accident. Regardless when I saw that I knew the build sort of failed (you could just split the power ups between vampires as split between two would power up exponentially rather than linearly). Someone said they were looping but that is wrong as it was only drained once.
red card is actually pretty sweet, its not good endless cause no multiplication effect but early on its so much mult, just save up to interest cap before investing into it too much so you can afford spending the money on it. Its genuinely not as bad as you think, can carry you to an easy ante 8 win with any other multiplicative effect. Also you can take 1 from a mega pack and still skip for the +3 mult.
Seems like a lot of work to get to +15 mult or whatever when so many jokers either give you comparable mult that way easier or way more mult for the same amount of work. I can’t see it working out outside maybe the earliest stakes
It's definitely a lot of work to start it but once it's going, it's goes pretty good, and with the 50% discount the packs are basically free. I feel it's best in the challenges and is a pretty easy carry in a lot of them, especially the stone cards one. Again, it's not amazing (common moment) but it's not unusable. I'll take it when I'm looking for cards in packs or planets since you usually want something specific there and it's nice to benefit it you're going to be possibly skipping them anyways. +3 mult is a lot better than nothing. Not really something worth building your run around, just a nice supplement to hold you over
0:37 ive been confused about that too. It's definitely worded weird. Makes it seem like you lose a hand every round and eventually you'll have 0. But it's just once. I guess because things in the game can make you lose hands for just one round ETC. Still it's a strange choice of words
The fact there isnt a top comment talking about the thumbnail being very close to a certain vibe of picture with 5 dudes standing behind a white girl on a couch LMAO
I finally beat the gold stakes 2 days ago using the face card +5, Midas, and the vampire joker. I had this combo once before but had the blue joker (copies the joker on the right) and got to the 12th round.
The cards seem to be set to only allow one enhancement and "de-hancement" when played. It's probably there to avoid something like this going infinite and crashing thr game, I'd guess
What if you had a negative Pareidolia? Still gives you the space for 4 vampires and the gold face card, plus with EVERY CARD played being considered a face card.
The thing about this is that each card can only be consumed by Vampire once in a hand. I'm not sure why this is done (some form of balancing? holdover from older versions where it worked differently?) but it's definitely why this turns out so jank. Unless I'm wrong there doesn't seem to be anything stopping you from having multiple Masks, though it wouldn't really help. With multiple Vampires it's actually ideal that your hand consists of a mixture of gold and normal cards so you can split the mult gain between them. Interestingly, despite both Jokers claiming they take effect when the cards are played, this is not true; they take effect when the *hand* is played, and don't care at all whether the card itself was. This means you can gold/drain cards not in the played portion of the hand (23:35), but retriggers don't synergize at all, and of course Vamp gets to steal the enhancement before it gets to trigger. Overall, I'd say it's not just the "combo" that doesn't work like how you'd expect, but that both of the Jokers don't either.
things i disagree with - ignoring the standard pack (a purple seal has a good chance of decreasing the number of cards in your deck) 8:19 - using the fool for money instead of turning six cards into hearts after upgrading flush several times in a row.
You wanna be scalling the vampires evenly in this type of situation. Toward the end there were 2 over 10x and one at 4x. It would be better to have 3 at 8x for example since 8x8x8 > 4x10x10
Midas Mask should not stack. A single vampire clears all the enhancements on cards, not allowing other vampires to remove those enhancements, so it works alone only. Going back and forth with midas mask+vampire+midas mask+vampire+.... might work. Otherwise, it only makes sense to have one of each.
I had the vampire + golden mask combo with the joker that makes everything a face card and every hand I played turned to gold and then got cleaned by the vampire. The vampire was at >50x by the end of the run.
