    Wondering if we should use rocks for quarantine that are not “porous”, so other pests don’t get in as well. Maybe use rocks like branch rock? Things with less crevices.

    How long was the reef tank without fish? Should have waited at least 8 weeks before returning the fish back to the aquarium.

  • @SwampRanger

    Broooo…I’m the same way. Super against quarantine. Due to the time/upkeep and the fact it stresses the fish out…
    Anyways, I got a new fish, drip acclimated him, dropped him in the tank, and one week later he nuked the tank with velvet…
    I’ve got my new system coming at the end of the month, so my current fluval 13.5 will turn into my quarantine.
    Glad you still got your system running.

    • @ZoaTankBoyz
      @ZoaTankBoyz  Год назад +1

      I prefer to have the option of observing then- since many times they have been in copper for a week or two prior at the lfs to avoid adding more stress

    If it was me I would put that tang in your quarantine tank with copper solution. The ich will just multiply and eat the fish alive till its dead. I keep all my new purchased fish in mild copper solution at half recommended dose for a month.. beautiful tank btw and goodluck!

    Dude, hi from brazil. Around here we are used to take out all of fishes so the parasites doesnt host anything for 3 months. after that period we can be sure that the parasite life cycle has ended And its safe to add Fish again to the tank.
