A good launch will do under 8 seconds and remember, the gearing is tall. Although the fusion is almost as fast to 60, past that the svt will pull away, and we aren't even going into its specialty.. turns ;)
It's surprising how slow it is, I have an automatic Saturn that is 19 years old and does 0-60 in around 8.5 and that's only pushing like 110 horsepower
@@Anthony-df4bs The first gen ('06-'09) V6 Fusion was absolutely faster than 9 seconds no matter which transmission you chose. 9.5 seconds sounds like a 4cyl with automatic. The '06 V6 Fusion with manual was clocked at ~6.6 by most magazines at the time. Same for the Mazda6 V6 since it was the same engine and platform.
it's amazing to me how slow 170 hp was 10 years ago.. 9 seconds to 60? i've got 160 hp in my 09 Fusion, and thing will do 8 flat all day with a good launch.. not to mention, it weighs another 400 lbs or so.

That's it? The 5spd Escort ZX2 base model could do 60 in 7.8. I'm pretty certain the SVT Focus could do it in 7.2 or so with manual.

SVT's long gearing is not meant for straight line acceleration but more for autocross and track that's partly why it's hard.
My 2010 Camry LE 2.5L 6A would smoke this even my moms 2017 Focus SEL 2.0L GDI could too.
Probably not but they def dont brake handle or look as good so even if it was barely quicker the svt is way more car

My 03 SVT does 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds and is mostly stock, you have to keep the RPMs up and stay in the power band.....
Motortrend tested the cars 0-60 in 7 seconds 🤷♂️
