@@bullit4170 That’s great, unfortunately my work schedule is irregular so my sleep schedule can be as well. Would be nice to have more options to conveniently use the tracking.
Apple really needs to add a smart wake feature that will allow you to set a window for it to wake you from a lighter sleep. This is the only missing feature keeping me tied to third party apps.
this is brilliant, i was coming here hoping id find a way to only activate sleep mode when you’re actually sleeping, that way you can configure smart home devices like certain lights to dim or out right switch off if you fall asleep and forget them on
For everyone who has trouble setting up the sleep tracking: 1. Set a schedule for your sleep 2. Set an alarm before your schedule ends 3. Wear the watch at least 4 hours during sleep 4. Don’t turn off the focus “sleep” manually Hope this helps! Good night 😴
thank you for this video. I do have an iphone Xs & an applewatch 7; but i think I will get the fitbit inspire 3 for the simplicity; I just need sleep tracking data. too much things to set-up here.
@@caioproenca7126I wear it every night and don’t take it off until it dies in the middle of the next day. It tracks how long I was asleep, but never tracks the stages. I’ve had mine for around 6 months and have never been able to get the stages to show up. My watch is a series 3 so maybe it’s different but the app still shows that it can track those things but doesn’t. 🤷♀️
How can I change the measurement interval? It's just that I sleep during the day. And it measures me from 6pm to 6pm but I sleep from 1pm to 9pm and it doesn't show me continuations of the same sleep. I mean. It measures me from 1 to 6 and then cuts the graph and what I slept from 6 to 9, which is when I wake up, those 3 hours are sent to the next day's graph. How do I change it to set it from 11am to 11am?
Hey, thanks for the video. I was wondering if there is any way to track/record/register naps during the day instead of only tracking sleep during the schedules. Is this possible with the Apple Watch?
I just started back using my Apple Watch and I don’t like it..the only reason I started using it again is to track sleep and I remember when it use to just track your sleep if you went to sleep so now it doesn’t track sleep unless you are on a schedule? What dummy came up with that idea smh
I think the point of the schedule is to compare the hours you actually sleep with the hours you hope to sleep based on your schedule. So if you schedule 7 hrs but actually sleep 8 you get a rewarding message saying you’ve slept more than you were aiming for. Setting a schedule also allows for a wind down period before you go to sleep where you’ll stop receiving notifications. I like these features, but I agree - it shouldn’t need to be a requirement if you don’t want to use them.
This! My Fitbit always tracks sleep. Even 2 hour spontaneous naps. Apple Watch is never accurate. I don’t have a sleep schedule and the point of tracking sleep is to know how many hours you slept because you have insomnia. I’d wear my Apple Watch more if they could compete with Fitbit
What does the Health App icon look like? I have tried several and none look like the one in you video. My watch doesn’t wake up when I get up. I can’t change my morning wake up time.
WHY do you have to set an alarm? I suffer from insomnia, and am retired, don't want an alarm waking me up. I also don't like the requirement to set a schedule but I can live with it. I just want it to track my sleep habits and cycles
Get yourself a Garmin watch. It will track your sleep without scheduling and alarms. I’ve got my father Garmin and for myself decided to upgrade my Apple watch 4 and bought Apple Watch 8… And can tell that sleeping app is easier in Garmin and battery work longer, for least few days. So I’m thinking about getting myself Garmin instead 😒
Hi, my Apple Watch SE logs the awake function is only for say for example 1 minute where I know I have been awake more than the. What should I do. Appreciate your help
Thank you, I am what in th buss as a non sleeper. I never did understand this app, have been using it but not knowing what I am doing. This helped a lot! Gets some sleep, Cheers!
Will my alarms on my phone still ring to wake me even on “sleep mode” mode on the phone? I can’t use the haptic for the watch, it won’t wake me. Does the watch not automatically track sleep without manually selecting “sleep mode”? I always have do not disturb on overnight.
I've not tested it but I can't see why not. To my knowledge the sleep tracking doesn't require cellular and your Apple watch is still connected to your phone whilst on Airplane mode. .
I do have a question. How is sleep measured from what I have read you need to charge your watch everyday. Is that not accurate? My wife uses a fitbit and it will stay charged for like 6 days.
I'm not sure of the actual sensors used to measure sleep but measuring your sleep certainly doesn't drain the battery. That said, all the Apple Watches I've owned have required charging daily. Only for 30 minutes or so. The Ultra will likely last longer.
@@btsarmy080918 ok, well anything on your wrists like tattoos, hair anything that obstructs the sensors is what the problem is. On my left wrist I have tattoos, I switched it so the watch was on the inside of my wrist where there is no tattoo and it worked. So then k switched to my right wrist where there is no tattoos and it worked again. I stuck it back on my left wrist (on top) and it didn’t work.
You need to set an alarm before your sleep schedule end time. Don’t turn off the focus “sleep” manually. Also you’ll have to wear the watch at least for 4 hours during sleep. Hope this helps.
do you have to put the sleep focus mode on to start sleep tracking or will it just automatically track your sleep once you fall asleep like other smart bands?
I don't think you have to enable the Sleep focus mode but you do have to create a sleep schedule. However, if you don't enable sleep focus mode, you'll likely receive notifications and haptic feedback from your watch whilst you sleep, unless you disable those features another way.
Fair warning. The Deep sleep stage in the Sleep app is not accurate. It is always way under reported. Match it with the Pillow app. The Pillow app is much more accurate.
But I don’t go to bed and wake up the same time every day… it varies. Wish you could just hit a button to begin sleep tracking
The point is to promote better sleep habits! A consistent schedule is the single most important thing

It can track automatically
How did you set it up to track your sleep stages like REM, DEEP, ETC? I can't seem to figure that out.
Because you don’t have apple watch
