SSJ2 deserves a lot more love from the fandom. It was the form that stood up to Cell, Majin Vegeta, Bojack, and Broly.
Dude, Majin Vegeta is a SSJ2, difference is he relied on Babidi’s mind control to make him more powerful and equals Goku’s SSJ2 power.

@@edualv320 I’m pretty sure that was to tell the difference between them. In raging blast and budokai ten kai chi, their fighting style varies between their transformed forms as well. The games differentiated them, not the anime or manga.

There is 2 way to understand ssj2
First is common one the electricity around the aura
Second one is something that only detailistic people can see . When u are ssj2 ur hairs get more seperated more spikes while goku was ssj in frieza saga there was a one spike top of his head which is very big and the others were like a crown but in ssj2 they are seperate and a thin long spiky mess hair

Gohan super saiyan 2 transformation was one of the best in the entire series. I was a huge gohan fan so to watch him turn ssj2 gave me chills hopefully gohan will regain his fighting spirt. I think gohan needs to train with broly and learn that surpress great ape form it might get him back on level with goku and vegeta

I've always been a big fan of the time goku fought majin vegeta. Its been awhile and could be wrong but when both of them power up to SS2 and start fighting after already being in SS1, everything just gets so much more intense. It's just too bad that part of the fight doesn't last long thanks to buu

Stop saying that Super Saiyan blue is the rename of "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan." That name never existed in the first place in any of the cannon. It was always super saiyan blue. That fan made name only exists because english speaking audiences couldn't properly understand what was being said in the original release of the Resurrection f movie, which was the only version that existed for several months.

SSJ 2 is my favorite transformation. When I was younger I thought that when future Trunks went back to his time and killed the androids as well as Cell he had achieved SSJ2 cuz of the way his hair was. I wish SSJ 2 for future Trunks would have been that design. Great video like always bro

With Majin vegita being my all time fav character I would say his ssj2 transformation is my favourite . Especially with his rant on his hatred towards Goku. Then his final atonement when he sacrifices himself to take out buu

Nothing beats SS2 Gohan vs. Cell, simply for the novelty. Also, the transformation was subtle enough that I initially thought it was a perfected SS1, not necessarily SS2. Like SS Grade 4 or whatever is a step up from Trunks' transformation against Cell.
SSJ2 is my favorite transformation. Although pretty much every scene with a character using ssj2 is awesome, the one that stands out for me was when goku and majin vegeta fought. It was that long awaited fight that everyone wanted since their first encounter

Honestly, good picks. SSJ2 Gohan at the world tournament would be my favorite too. Gave me chills down my spine how good Kyle Hebert was at playing Gohan. Gohan vs Bojack was also very very amazing, the scream when powering up also gave me chills.
Super Saiyan 2 is definitely my favorite form. The hair looks cool and slick (for most characters) The way it was achieved was godlike and the lightning (while being a small detail) still manages to best part of the transformation to me

Late, but my fave SSJ2 moment was when Goku and Majin Vegeta transformed to begin their fight. They really made that form look POWERFUL, even more so than Gohan did in my opinion.

Loved this! Super Saiyan 2 is by far, one of my favorite transformations. Especially in GT where Goku utilized the form much more effectively than in Z (or in Super for that matter 😅.)

The video we were all waiting for. One of the most badass forms. Love this vid thanks moodzi. I was also bingewatching u right before u posted lol.
I love ssj2 because it showed how much the characters cared. Cabba unlocked it because Vegeta saved him and when he was called a coward, cabba showed how much he hated that and manifested it into power.
Gohan had the same thing happen to him, except it was 16 who gave him inspiration then cell killed 16. By the way, cabba's moment is my favorite for two reasons.
1.since we actually see him transform, we see him getting frustrated about. To become a super Saiyan two, and to put it short, it looks sick.
2.if you were around when super Saiyan two was the form everybody was talking about, it rewards you by showing you those memories from when you were a kid watching the show, but now your an adult who's seen buu be defeated by super Saiyan three, beerus fight the super Saiyan god, frieza go against super Saiyan blue, hit go against SSBKX10, and Gohan use his hidden potential again.
My favorite ssj2 transformation is Gohan versus perfect Cell, Cell had to have felt that his power level was still rising but got cocky all the same and then got thoroughly destroyed!
I will always be a believer in Goku knowing about SSJ2 and possibly being able to do it before Gohan, he was just giving him a chance to save the world.
In the hyperbolic time chamber where Gohan first became a super saiyan 2, Goku admitted that Gohan became stronger than him
I always liked it too. I always felt it looks more classy and cool than ssj3, which just doesn't look all that special for me. I like how it just feels like a complete, fufilling transformation, with no downsides such as excessive energy consumption, or anything like that. I also loved playing in that specific form of Goku back in Tenkaichi 2 for PS2, as the game really translated those aspects of the form into gameplay, by making Goku be more slick and efficient in ssj2 than in ssj 3. Anyway, the lightning aura also is really cool...what can I say, I just like it.

Actually I think ssj3 is the most underrated transformation of them all. Goku defeated Frieza effortlessly as soon as he attained ssj, Gohan had Cell quite outmatched when he reached ssj2 and both ssj and ssj2 had their fair share of battles, screen time and epic moments. Ssj3 however could only be attained by Goku and for a very brief time and it didn't have the same epic outcome we're used to everytime a new transformation is introduced. Imo it's the most badass looking form, it's just sad it has no memorable moments so much that they could delete it from the franchise and it would make no difference in the outcome at all.
Goku did say he could have beaten Buu at that stage but elected not to.

My favorite SSJ2 transformation was in Bojack Unbound. It carries emotion, but, it also conveyed more of a vengeful vibe as well as pride in his bloodline.

I also find it pretty interesting how after Spopovich and Yamu(?) sapped his energy at the Tenkaichi Budokai he never used Super Saiyan 2 again, at least not that I saw until Super. The Kaioshin even noted that his strength was drained in a major way, which they then compensated for with the Z-Sword and Mystic Form(Ultimate Gohan).
That's probably the best intro I've ever seen.

Like, Goku achieved Super Saiyan through anger yet Caulilfa achieved it through a "feeling" showing distinct evolution.
He’s back once again, I missed this man and his intro, it’s Califormula Tarro Remix.
I've loved SSJ2 from the beginning. Teen Gohan transforming into this form for the first time against Cell surely is one of the main factors for this, but the deal was really only sealed to me later on in the Buu Saga at two points:
1. Goku transforming into it and showing it off to Buu and Babidi, right before the SSJ3 transformation.
Babidi mentions, that barely anything had changed and, in response, Goku only smirks condescendingly. I can't help but break into a smile every time I see this scene, honestly.
2. Majin Vegeta vs. SSJ2 Goku.
This fight. I don't know what it's about this fight, but I simply love it to death. Its like, the culmination of all of Goku's and Vegeta's rivalry up to this point, with Vegeta taking the boost from the Majin seal to increase his power, yet still defying Babidi only to fight Goku at his best and out of his free will.
Moreover, Goku respects this thought of Vegeta so much, that he even ignores the warning and pleads to stop from the Supreme Kai, instead giving it his all (aside from SSJ3), putting the whole universe in danger by providing power for Buu's resurrection.
Also, Goku preparing an energy blast and pointing it at Shin to get the later to get lost... That's the kind of conviction I've signed up for when I started watching DB:Z.

Cell couldn't do shit to this lad, even when Gohan let him punch him. Heck SSJ2 even made Cell resort to suicide
Of course i loved the teen gohan ssj2 version, that moment was iconic and problably the most beloved fight for me, seen everyone amazed by how he destroys the cell juniors and then later seen how cell is terrified.

SSJ2 is my favorite for a bunch of reasons. The transformation is literally a better SSJ with a side of saiyan aggression and pride. The design itself maybe a bit lazy but man it still looked cool(to me atleast). It always had awesome fights like Goku vs Majin Vegeta, Goku vs Majin Buu, Gohan vs Dabura and Goku vs Goku Black. I think it only needed a theme like SSJ1 and 3 but oh well.
I've always liked 2 the best. I guess its because I didn't start watching the show until just before Vegeta fought Goku during the Buu saga, and that happens to be the form that they fought at. I guess it just stuck with me, and I think it looks cooler than either three or four.
Favorite SSJ2 moment: Vegeta's final atonement.
My favorite is Vegeta's "What did you do to my Bulma" moment
I think of it as, someone touching a tesla coil...The hair spikes up due to static electricity...and so the lightning around them.. Similar case with Thor in Ragnarok...basically electrons jumping out of their body into the ground...

Big fan of SSJ2, glad to see it's getting a bit more screen time. Goku vs Vegeta as both SSJ2's is one of my top moments for the form.

I'm calling a draw on my favorite SS2 moment. It's either the point in the Bojack movie where Gohan goes SS2 and effortlessly walks through the wires and frankly the opponents that had been giving everyone trouble up to that point, OR it is specifically the Team Four Star DBZ Abridged version of the SS2 reveal against Cell. I didn't watch the original series in order, I came in during the Buu saga about the time Goku revealed SS3 so the whole thing was kind of lost on me. I actually got the story of the Frieza and Cell arcs from the DBZ Legacy of Goku games before DBZ Kai came along and filled in the blanks minus the filler. However, I was with DBZA from around the late Frieza saga, so waiting for the big SS2 reveal was a long and slow road. The way that they pulled it off, I really felt like that's how I would have felt during the Cell sage, just with a bit more surprise, like "wait, they can DO that?" Bonus mention, technically Vegeta uses the SS2 form against Beerus in Battle of the Gods and the accompanying arc of the Super anime, so the "MY BULMA!!!" moment is actually a decent honorable mention.
(I'm going to leave his last comment as a sort of bonus number for the video: I'm not sure where I read this, but if I am remembering correctly, it was implied in the series that the power stressed forms of Super Saiyan used by Vegeta and Trunks, especially the extremely stressed form that Trunks used, were actually possibly physically stronger than SS2, such that if SS2 Gohan and power stressed Super Trunks were to arm wrestle, or get into a lifting contest, Super Trunks would have won, that form is stronger. However, much like SS3, it's a fast burn on the power supply and as Trunks saw, just way too slow. SS2 was more efficient in terms of power burn, and significantly faster, making the slightly reduced strength insignificant. One could argue that Super confirmed this by the way Trunks still used the power stressed form to psych Vegeta out even though he could already use SS2, but given how it turned out it is more likely that Trunks only used the power stressed form to gain a tactical advantage over Vegeta for that moment, since I'm not sure Vegeta knew about Trunks having access to SS2 at that point. It's also possible that the blue aura form dubbed Super Saiyan Rage used by Trunks is somehow an evolution of the SS2 form similar to how the power stressed form is an evolution of the original Super Saiyan form. And lastly, I personally believe that Vegeta's final Super Saiyan Evolution form, also dubbed SS Blue Evolution or my personal favorite Super Saiyan Royal Blue, is closer to the power stressed form he used against Cell than it is to a Super Saiyan 2 version of the God form.)
Ssj2 is my favorite ssj form it just looks so badass and when someone uses it you just know shit gets real
Ssj2 was always my favorite. I liked the more detailed spikier hair, the lightning, etc... I have to agree, Gohan Ssj2 at the tournament was awesome. But Gohan vs Cell and the very first Ssj2 transformation is by far my favorite. I remember watching it on toonami when it was brand new. I had my vhs in and recording every new episode and to this day that transformation gives me the most intense chills everytime i watch it .
