    Michelle is a transformational leader having a real and genuine advocacy. Other Miss Universe delegates now like Peru and Venezuela dont even have a genuine advocacy and is just doing charity work for pageants. If you scroll more on Michelle’s feed you will see alot of posts about her advocacy. You just scrolled as far as 1 week of posts in the video. Her advocacy is true to life, having 2 brothers under the autism spectrum plus she is the President of Inner Peace Foundation as well. She was just crowned and she had a holiday after the finals since she was filiming a series while joining MUPH and taking care of her 2 autistic brothers and her business as well. So give her time and she will post more of her advocacy soon.

      You raise some very good points. Admittedly I looked at Michelle’s social media further back than a week and researched elsewhere for her activity. But I suppose after the pressure of the pageant Michelle was entitled to some time off. As I’ve said I’m a huge fan of hers and I do think she has what it takes to be Miss Universe - she just needs to demonstrate all her community work on a repeated basis to show to the MUO she’s deserving of the title.

    I've been rooting for Michelle since MUPH 2022, and I'm very glad she finally won the right to represent the Philippines for MU 2023. However, as I was assessing her activities lately, I feel like she put herself in a relaxed mode at the moment just because MU 2023 is far around the corner (since the date of the competition hasn't been announced yet). Yes, she is very vocal in her advocacy of autism and mental health awareness, and I deeply appreciate her initiatives to bring the topic of autism and mental health to the forefront. But as I can see, I could see her place in either Top 5 or Top 10 (based on her performance at Question-and-Answer Round at MUPH 2023 finals night). I think she needs to step up her A-game and prepare immensely as she will represent the Philippines in MU 2023. Because at this very moment, the excitement in me for Michelle to place at MU faded away a little bit. If she wants to win the 5th crown for our country and to be on par with former MU titleholders like Catriona, Andrea, Michelle McLean, and Mpule, she needs to give her efforts into training and preparing for the pageant in order to put Philippines back in the winning streak.
    But still, my support for Michelle won't change and I have faith that she will make the Philippines place again at semi-finals. I believe in her potential to place in MU because she has the looks and competitiveness. It's just that she must not be laid back (just because MU 2023 is not yet around the corner), prepare and train big enough and continue her advocacy and community work.

    That is indeed what you agree about the current miss universe. the transformational leader is in fact someone with a challenging and moving story that can only be obtained by being utterly engaged in life-changing scenarios. That is not something you can make come true in 1 day it is actually a daily task and that ultimately makes the difference that you can write and edit a book about yourself. such a person is primed to confront the public in all spectrums.

And that speaks so much about them and shows their qualities of a miss universe woman, which are being able to break boundaries, being an inspiration to people especially to the LGBTQIA+community, and being confidently beautiful or beautifully confident. So if commenting like that and taking away their accomplishments in making them silent then you’re in the wrong part of pageantry.

    WHAT HAPPENED TO EUROPE, PARTICULARLY THE NORDICS?
    Sweden, Finland, Norway (and in some pageants) Denmark and Iceland were big names in the pageant industry until the 80s and 90s but recently they have been struggling to make waves. The last Nordic titleholder in the Big 4 is 2005 Miss World Unnur Birna from Iceland. I could write an essay about it but I'd leave it to the nerd and expert. :))
    Outside the Nordics, Europe in general has been struggling to make waves in the pageant world. Even France, considered this generation's European powerhouse, is inconsistent and does not even get to the same levels of success as even South Africa. Iris Mittenaere felt more of an exception.

    This is an amazing objective analysis! The Miss Universe competition needs someone like Michelle Marquez Dee to persuade more women to become transformational leaders. One, MMD supports a cause closest to her heart before she joined Miss World and won Miss Universe Philippines. MMD raises awareness about autism and not everyone, man or woman, can understand what autism is until they have family members diagnosed with autism. This is a rare advocacy for beauty queens like MMD. Two, MMD is a proud LGBT. This makes her a rarer beauty queen with substance. Three, she is a businesswoman. It sounds to me MMD was the only one who answered the tourism Q&A in MUPH with a mix of marketing. I don't say the other answers are wrong, but MMD replied with firm, stronger and direct points. I remember she mentioned beaches, mountains and the Pilipino people. She also mentioned being a proud Pilipina. Outside the competition, MMD completed an entrepreneurship program from Harvard Business School in 2021. And putting her learning into action and as part of a network management, it is a smart decision for MMD to run a business with her select friends in showbizness. Four, MMD is a graduate of psychology. In her interviews, I can sense her confidence and resilience not only as a beauty queen but as a woman with leadership who can change the world for the better one step at a time. MMD appears to be someone who can stand on her own, and this is what it takes to be a psychology graduate. I seem to agree with Pageant Nerd when he says MMD needs to upload more pictures to show her support for all the causes she is supporting. Her recent upload on LGBT is a strong campaign already. I look forward for more uploads about hepatitis and Autism.

    Thank you for your concise, comprehensive and no-nonsense down-to-earth analysis of Michelle Dee's chances. Your own concern for the 'transformational leadership' aspects of PH's bet this year is a genuine concern that MUPH Organization must strongly address. If they don't, and if Michelle does not do the urgently needful action about levelling up the significance and impact of her autism-related advocacy, then it should be no surprise to her fans and followers, if we end up empty handed again during the 2023 staging of MU in El Salvador.

  • @bjorker19
    @bjorker19 Год назад

    Nobody talks about the elephant in the room, except you, TPN and you had wonderfully pointed out the importance of having an authentic advocacy to be truly a transformational leader. Catriona Gray had set a very challenging precedent in the pageant world and while it’s definitely doable (R’boney and her work in sustainable fashion), consistency, plus the right social marketing is important, and pivotal as it’s also the preferred platform that this digital age takes. On the other hand, even if you have an effective marketing strategy, if there is nothing to market (the absence of an actual consistent platformed), then the organization, and the panel would definitely know it come the preliminaries and finals.
    I don’t truly know the extent of Michelle’s involvement in autism awareness besides what i’ve seen in her stint at ms world. Prior to her joining in Ms Universe last year and this year, i had mostly seen her on tv shows furthering her acting career.
    We may never know if there are more not shown or published, but she needs to ensure that she presents herself and her advocacy well to be truly transformational.

    I'm an Indian and I am so happy to see the winner. I had only one complaint from Phillipines from 2015 and that was sending mix breed candidate. Everything else was just on point in the candidates. I just thought that these winners will create inferiority complex among the local Phillipines women. They would think that they're not good enough to win over mix breed. That's why I loved when they sent pure filipina in 2021 and performed well. Even this year it's the same. And again I'm so happy for them 😊

    What it all boils down to is who will be the total package and makes an impactful impression. I dont really fancy her advocacy too much as MUO doesnot really focus on that a great deal that is not to say that it is noteworthy, however, there are far more other factors that MU look for that will keep the MU brand. She may not bring a crown back to PH, and the expert judges will determine who hs that IT factor. When I looked at the Miss Philippines pageant, the styling was less than glamourous in that some of the girl looked the same, and the styling was questionable. Of allthe girls I saw, only Miss Baguio was the standout for me. She looked like a Miss Universe. In my impression I sense they bet on oast performers who didnot luck out in getting the prize and recycled them again for another edition. Expectstions are really high. You cannot have the same expectation for Miss Universe which is way different from Miss World, which is totally different from the other pageant as they all in their own right have different tastes which they feel best represents their brand. So dollar to doughnuts, wverybody in the Philippines ince they bet on their home girl to win, they will be the first to say this cooking show jazz which to this day I simply donot understand rhe meaning of what that invokes. So just sit tight for her transformation and it is up to her to amplify what she has been trained to do.
