The movie is the perfect link that has been missing for so long! Especially in the first third, it brilliantly illustrates how the world of Alien, Blade Runner, and others offers endless possibilities for telling exciting stories. Considering that everything started with the theft of a cryo-pod from a Weyland ship, the only question left is: What comes next? Hopefully, we'll finally get a comic adaptation of Earth War and other thrilling titles.

No, you are mistaken regarding the colony in which the young crew came from. The colony is called Jackson Star, and it is stated to be located on Thedes prime, not Calpamos, Thedes prime is the mining planet where the Nostromo originally took off 20 years earlier carrying its cargo of precious metals and headed back to Earth

Okay so they find the Xenomorph in Space that Ripley shot in space with the Spear. They Used another Ash and Crew who found the Xeno to make face huggers. But nobody came to investigate until after the explosion of Romulus

The female character with the shaved head that does the Xray thing - this scene keeps bothering me because to be fair....if your rib cage was being smashed up from the inside you would be proper screaming and crying, not just wobbling about. the original chest bursting scene was done right and it was brutal. Poor Kane was in absolute agony, screaming his ass off for over 2 mins. The rest of the movie looks epic as hell I cant wait to see it. .

Honestly, I want this movie to be good but I am skeptical about this upcoming Alien Romulus film after learning this film is connecting this film to Ridley Scott's failed prequels (Prometheus and Alien Covenant) due to black goo is a very very bad idea.
I won't be surprised if this upcoming film fails

Incase you don't know, Ridley Scott's Alien Awakening (sequel to Alien Covenant 2017) was cancelled by 20th Century Fox during it's pre-production due to backlash & negative feedback from alien fans and it's box office failure. This happened before the Disney-Fox merger. Don't take my word for it. Do proper research, discern and examine the evidence in the links below.
Religions, ancient astronaut, aliens created humans nonsense, engineers a.k.a white albino bodybuilders, black goo, David the so-called original creator of xenomorphs nonsense, stupid dumb decisions & actions made by characters who are supposed to be professional scientists/doctors/mechanics & Ridley Scott's new perspective/vision of the alien prequels (6 part film prequels) leading to original 1979 film- is the reason why the alien prequels failed despite the financial success of Prometheus in box office.

Please refer to 1:06 and forward in my video here where I discuss the script of Prometheus. I place more blame on Damon Lindelof who led Ridley Scott astray with the engineer backstory. The black goo may be what is in the container that Andy is holding in the trailers, and may (in my opinion) be the treasure the 6 young pirates of Romulus came to steal. It's a nod to the other films, but not a major plot point. I think that Romulus will be a huge success...particularly in IMAX. Disney/Fox saved a bunch of money making this film--especially in cast salaries-so all the money is in the creatures which Alvarez has done practically rather than digitally. (they spent $40M and filmed entirely in Hungary...after VFX, post-production the film will probably come in around $60M--far less than Covenant) It's straight-up horror, with little or no philosophy to muddy the pond...and low-budget horror has always been a winner in Hollywood. (also, don't repost the same long comment over and over...once is more than enough)

It is not Hadley's Hope.. Is a whole new place called Jackson's Star. And contrary to what you think, the trailer shows very little in the grand scheme ..
I know it's Jackson Star Colony...and when you have 6 principal characters and you show 2 deaths...that's too much.
Another "check the box " cast! It's exhausting! I'm not running to the movies for this one.
the cast salaries are one of the ways Disney saved cash.
2/6 of the main characters are white men, so 33%. This is higher than the percentage of white men in America (30%), to say nothing of the rest of the world. I cannot imagine being so angry that women and POC exist that I refuse to watch most movies and TV shows. LOL.
I think quotas are dangerous in general...6 characters...strong white girl, check...Asian character...check...black character...check....queer character...probably...storytelling like this when you cast it for political correctness can become formulaic.

There is no indication that is the case and that the casting director simply felt those were the right actors for the role. If it's about quota filling, why is there no hawaiin character? No trans character? And on and on and on for every possible identity. Deciding that it must be a quota when your evidence is literally... these people are not white... shows where your head is at more than the filmmakers. Hell, if they wanted quota filling why even have any white men at all? If it's all about wokeness, have an all black female cast?
Also, regarding "strong white girl"... look at the genre, my dude. That's hardly box ticking wokeness if every horror film has a final girl.
not quotas, per se, but they try to cast the net as far and wide as possible to attract the largest audience...which is just smart business. An all black female cast would do terrible box office...so you make my point in a sense...all films these days are cast with an eye for diversity purely for the economic value...not for wokeness.
If they are going to destroy the aliens from the ship in outer space then I am rooting for the aliens. Let’s start a RIOT.

The "final girl" is not a "trope in the franchise." It's a trope in virtually all slasher films. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, Don't Breathe, etc etc etc. As is killing off dopey unlikeable characters. And if Alvarez is anything, he's a slasher director.
I agree, final girl is a trope that goes beyond the Alien franchise, obviously... but a trope is still a trope and that's not a compliment...Merriam-Webster defines it as: b
: a common or overused theme or device : cliché

I’m just curious about this whole “never seen before in horror or cinema” scene is all about. I have a feeling it involves Merced’s character. New Rockstars did a video on this and they think it might be something happens to her downstairs…..maybe this is how a king or even the queen xeno is born…Merced did say that whatever scene she is in is so gross the whole cast couldn’t watch it and had to turn away

Kay (Merced) in the water with several facehuggers isn't fake, I saw the trailer...also, heard the actress speaking about the scene...so don't know what you mean...(bruh)
So this happens while Ripley is still asleep in space then she is found by the space marines. Then the space marines and Ripley heads to the lost communication colney Hope?
yes, the Alien film is set in the year 2122, this film, Alien Romulus is set in the year of 2142, and the film Aliens (2) set in 2179.
yep, that's the timeline...so the Romulus space station may be near Hadleys Hope.

Spoiler Alert : The movie is supposed to revolve around Wey/Yu and their efforts to and the affects of recovering the alien body that was jettisoned by Ripley from the Nostromo. I dont know anyone on set or involved, i just have this playtester buddy who wont tell me where he gets his data but is always right. Sounds like a decent movie to me so far.
yeah, there's a shot of the cocooned, original alien being recovered into the station. The Weyland corp must have believed Ripley's story afterall.

They brought the original alien (the one Ripley blew off her ship) onto the station...(bad idea) the station is abandoned because the alien killed them all.

@redcarpetraccoon that part I would like to see. The dead people/crew members on the space station (dismembered). Perhaps the bodies moved to one room on the space station like in ALIEN when some othe crew was cocooned but in Romulous simply dead. No survivors like Newt (little girl) in Aliens.

I also thought the cockney accent sounds weird in this movie and most Hollywood movies, unless it's Jason Statham.
The actor seems like a perfectly nice guy, but he should have toned that accent down a bit.

I regard the Prometheus-Covenant movies as being in their own Universe and not related to Alien 1-4. Kind of the same way the AvP and Predator movies overlap with the Alien movies but are their own thing. I consider Alien 4 to be a joke movie as well.

I AGREE With ya points though for sure, I hated the ending of Alien 4, I Hated the story line of Alien 3 , but thought they all gave great performances in acting , it felt so real and so morbid Alien 3 did
Well, I think they are all interconnected. Romulus was made on the cheap and if it does well, (I think it should) then perhaps Disney will think about completing the Prometheus trilogy...

I REALLY WANT to SEE A VERY VERY film after Alien Covenant film so bad, it could be a great mixture of action, si fi and so on, want to David 8 carrying on with his stuff, then also the NEW OWNERS Of Weyland & Yutani travel out to meet David 8 , then also have the LAST Few of the engineer's visit that Planet 4 where the Android Walter is still if still active and running, then they go after David 8 after using the hologram technology on that planet to see what David 8 did, then in the last act of the film, we like four different types of things all kicking off for all different reason's, the Aliens being released and taking humans away to be cocooned and fighting against the Space engineer's, the Space Engineer's going after David 8, the Owner's Weyland & Yutani Space bodyguards protecting the new owner's of Weyland & Yutani , then right at the end of the film, when all is nearly all been killed one last Space Bio engineer trys to take off, but the chest buster POPS out of his chest , and it is the Queen Alien, then in the last psot credit scene's we see the Queen start laying her eggs in the Space engineer Juggernaunt Ship!!!!!!!!

Space station was the Achilles heal to the preview as it shows too much! Also predictable kill sequences for F@#k sake. It's Scream the movie but on a space station........ I'LL watch it but not on day one if you catch my drift 😜

From the studio and the ratings board: Rated R (bloody violent content and language) so I think your tender eyes will be spared any nakedness.
Prometheus is a good movie. And Alien 3 is BETTER than Aliens. You all have lost your senses. I know what im talking about.
Even David Fincher Thinks Aliens is better than Alien 3.
@redcarpetraccoon he's just being humble. The studio execs made it hellish for him, so he hates the experience of having to go through that and thinks of the film as bad. But I'm speaking as a movie viewer. I mean what I said wholeheartedly

I think its important to mention that both Ridley and James Cameron have publicly stated that they love the Romulus film. (As a producer Ridley Scott has a vested interest but still...)

Agreed. They don't exist, as they don't affect or influence Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 in the slightest. Even the events of AVP and Requiem are legitimate compared to Ridley's trash.
Ridley's "trash" began the whole franchise...and the 1979 film is about as perfect as Sci-fi horror can get.
A Bad Steven King book written by Steven King is just a bad Steven King book, not a Steven King Fan fiction, Therefor a bad Alien movie written by Ridley Scott is just a bad Alien Movie with some disappointing cannon, NOT a fan fiction. Postscript : Ridley Scott wrote and directed the first Alien movie, however it's awesome ending is all Sigourney Weavers fault.

And let's see, 2 Academy Awards, winner of best science fiction film (Saturn Award in 1980) and again for best DVD collection in 2011...by the academy of science fiction, fantasy and horror films, oh yeah, also best DIRECTOR and best writing... 5 BAFTA Awards, 3 HUGO awards for director, and 2 for screenplay...and the list goes on and on...so yeah...must be trash.
