  • In this Ferrari 360 buying and depreciation guide, I will show you the latest developments in the 360 market. As of today, it is 20 years ago that the car was introduced. Nevertheless, the Ferrari 360 remains to be for many a dream supercar.
    You can contact me on fourwheeltrader@gmail.com if you would like a personalized analysis.
    Follow me on Instagram: / fourwheeltrader
    The depreciation analysis for the Ferrari 360 is split into a few parts. In the first part, we will explore the market and have a look at the average price points. Just by looking to these, we can already see that something particular is going on in the 360 market. In the second part, we will figure out the depreciation per year and the forecasted value range. Note that these forecasts are based on average price points and a probability of 75%. Therefore, the value doesn’t apply to each and every used 360. After this, we will have a look at the depreciation per 1000 miles driven.
    From this point onwards, we will start to put all of the information together and have a look at the fair purchasing prices. At the end of the video, we will conclude then on the Ferrari 360 market as a whole and what this means for you as a buyer.

    I bought my 2004 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 2 or 3 years ago for $55,000 I sold it about a year later for $56,000. So I lost money on taxes, and maintenance / repairs. The small loss of money was totally worth it! For me personally owning that car was something I never thought growing up I would be able to do. So the achievement for me was well worth it. If I can find another clean one in that price range I may buy one again. Great video by the way very informative keep it up.

      Fourwheel Trader - Car depreciation analysis
      It was fun. It wasn't as cool as I expected tho. At the time I also had a 800hp 1996 Toyota Supra. The Supra was a better car. The 360 felt fragile. The Supra is as a reliable as any other Toyota. The 360 broke when I bought it and broke the day after I sold it. I hear the 458 is reliable. But they are still 140k on the low end. Owning a "Ferrari" tho was a physiological achievement for me. And most people I encountered asked if it was new lol and always asked how fast it is. Funny the look on there faces when I would say it's slow lol. Overall glad I owned it and am considering getting one again.

    Intelligent young man. Very interesting. I think you should also factor in negative economic scenarios like recessions, depression’s and stock market crashes and how they would impact prices. Many economists think that we are overdue for another crash. I was thinking of buying red 360 spider manual transmission in a year or two. Hopefully the prices won’t go up. What do you think?

  • @Matthew-RSa
    @Matthew-RSa 4 года назад

    Owner of a '99 manual Modena Coupe here...one thing I would like to know is that if the "manual" cars were visually verified prior to the analysis...one big thing I noticed when shopping is that many of the F1 cars ("automatics") were actually listed as "manual", since technically, they still are, you would have to look at pictures to verify...but of course that made a huge difference in price since the true manuals are rarer, and overall, more desirable than the F1. Overall, great video, will check out some of your others.

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  4 года назад +3

      I encountered the same issue. Though, I didn't visually inspect each and every car. I only inspected the cars which had a strange year-price-mileage-transmission combination and relabelled them if necessary.

    I just bought a 2004 sider with 8,1000 miles in mint condition. I paid $115k, which I feel is in line with the analysis. While I have owned much more powerful cars, this is a frequent driver's car, light, nimble, fun, go kart steering and amazing sound. The 360 is for someone who wants to enjoy Ferrari at this stage in its development. I daily drive a Cal T, more modern, powerful with all the bells and whistles, wonderful car. Thie 360 is for those who love driving a timepiece that is fun, light, open and engaging and will forever put a smile on your face and a beat in your heart, Yes, I love this car.PS, I will most likely never sell it, a family heirloom for my grandchildren.

    Too bad the ACTUAL sold price is hard to get. That would really tell the story. I’m in the market for one of these and some people really seem to be asking more than they should. I’m in Canada and I’ve been watching several models for sale across the country. They do not seem to be selling as some have been listed for over two years.

      I googled few key words and the best thing I found so far is:
      www.ferrarifl.com/vintage-service/
      But it does not give likelihood of repair (e.g., few models have a tendency to break more often) but it is not bad as it lists the most affordable Ferraris.
      It would be great to have a ranking of those in order to see which one is the best investment (while keeping appreciation and running cost in mind).

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  4 года назад

      @@eqrc8412 I sometimes filter out the best 'deals' by combing price, mileage, model year, and one other factor (eg transmission). This is however more focused towards value for money than investment potential.

    • @Matthew-RSa
      @Matthew-RSa 4 года назад +1

      Those numbers are very good for service, but dealers have a tendency to "find" other things while their are in there and it's stupid easy for your $3200 major service turn into a $10k bill rather quickly...and most owners will take them at their word. I'm a DIY, and can attest to the discrepancy between the inflated costs of buying Ferrari parts through the dealer and buying OEM, couple that with 150-200/hr for service, you can see those reasonable prices shoot up rather quickly.

      Ferrari 456 and Ferrari 612. Ferraris usually hit the bottom of the depreciation curve after 15-20 years and these 2 models are around that age and on top of that they are 4 seaters (e.g.: you can enjoy them with more people).

I think the fact that a brand new C8 with performance to match a 458 will be 65k will be a big factor. I think it will drive their values down some.

      Don't listen to Tarek, he's snooty ;-)...j/k. As a 360, and a Z06 owner, I will say that the new Vettes are fantastic, but in my experience talking to other owners they are interested, but to the extent that they would like to add one to the stable rather than replacing their 360 with it. Yeah, some may "upgrade" to something newer, but most people looking at the Ferrari's are looking at a different picture than new Corvette buyers....not to mention that the Corvette will depreciate faster and in a few years, and be widely available while the 360's will have flattened out for the most part...also the manual owners like myself will not be able to replace that feeling since the new Vette is automatic only. I can't see it affecting the values at all. New cars usually don't affect "vintage" cars.
