Buying Used Ferrari 360 Over Modern Sport Cars?

- Winter is over and it's time to take the Ferrari 360 out once again. While I drive, I take the time to answer some questions people have asked in the past including why I choose a Ferrari 360 over some modern muscle cars or sports cars. Enjoy :).
I purchased my Ferrari 360 six years ago. In that time frame, I have put over 20K miles on it (now has 37K miles). This car is a keeper and my youngest (13 yrs old) thinks it should be handed down to him! I agree, but I told him it will likely have 100K miles on it by then! I believe the 360 is a beautiful car and will grow old very gracefully. By the way, the car feels, drives and is less problematic the more I drive it. Enjoy it, and more 360 videos please!! :)
Thanks! Will do. Did you see the latest one I did? ruclips.net/video/m7N6qYLyj40/видео.html
@@DriversOnly Sure did. Nicely done. There aren't enough Ferrari 360 videos on RUclips. I'm hoping channels like yours will encourage more. :)
Energytrader Any nasty surprises?
@@RootBeerGMT No nasty surprises at all. I've done 1 belt service and will do the second later this year. Clutch still good. I need to replace brakes this year, but going up a size to 380mm Brembos. All-in-all reasonable maintenance and costs. I take the car to an independent mechanic, but someday hope to do my own maintenance....when I have time.
I just bought mine! Shipped out yesterday, should be here in a few days! Super excited. Your video definitely helped sway me vs other cars or waiting for C8s to come back in stock at MSRP.
Congrats!
I have a 2001 360 love it...had it 3 years now no major issues just annual services and did belts and tentioners..good luck man...
Thanks!
old enough so as not to have so many of the frustrating 'nanny' electronic complications on them that are so complex that even the dealerships can't tell you how they work. and IMO, one of the two or three best looking cars of the late 1990's - early 2000's.
Well said, totally agree
A Ferrari 360 is one of my favorite Ferraris.
Ferrari f360 and f430 one of the most beautiful to.
I totally agree, though having driven older and newer models, the 360 is something special, feels more compact and agile than a F 430, I’d say.
Just bought a 360 that needs a little help. It’s a lot of fun and the perfect balance of new vs old and has the perfect amount of power. Love it!
i will be in the market for one soon. I cant wait. saving now!
You won't regret it :).
Me too. I’ve had a 348 for 16 years but a 360 spider manual is what I want. I remember when it first came out at the car show I was just drooling. I don’t even care how fast it is, it’s the look of it that draws me in. Nobody designs like Pininfarina.
I have 20k miles on my f1 clutch and stuck her on the computer and still have 60 percent life left..i guess it depends on how you drive it.and i do all the work myself.love this car so much fun.ive seen my friends garage queen with only 5k miles have more issues than a other that have triple the mileage. Drive it! Have fun like this guy.good video brother keep it up
Thanks! Yes I've heard stories from others also about the clutch lasting 40-50k miles, sounds like the same with you.
I love how people talk crap and think they know what there talking about and never even seen a 360 up close..cool video keep it up.post any repairs so other 360 owners can enjoy.
I agree! Before I thought the same about a 360, looked a bit dated in the pictures. However seeing it in person, totally different look.
A 360 is my first step car. Hopefully when I make enough money to make cars a true passion, a 360 or the equivalently priced car at the time (I’m 21 so I have a little while) will be my goal to purchase.
Every 21 year old thinks they'll buy one. Then life happens.
That gorgeous beauty should only come in one color -red
I agree :)
A Ferrari is like buying a painting it's an investment plus you can drive it.
I came to your video to see the tiguan, I started watching your Ferrari videos omfg so awesome dude your the best reviewers I have ever seen. Also I been wanting to buy a corvette. What do you think of the c6 and c7 corvette? idk after watching you Ferrari videos no way in hell I can get those other sports cars.
Go with the yellow calipers, but get them powder coated. I have yellow calipers on my e92 and they look amazing. Gives you the chance to change the piston seals too.
Haven't thought about powder coating. Hum...
Nice video, cool to see your enthusiasm for your car. With the belt situation: Rubber has a shelf life, and it shortens with a lack of use (people forget this, especially with tires). Ferrari I'm sure understands most of the cars it sells are going to spend 80+% of their lives sitting in a garage, and so specified a time-limit vs. a mileage. I'm sure the belts would go 50k miles, which would equate to 16k miles/year over 3 years....which would be totally normal for a commuter car.
Thanks and an excellent point.
why one would prefer a lessor performing, older ferrari 360 over a new tesla is a matter of history and pedigree. it's like trying to convince someone that a renoir is more desirable than a andy warhol. in many respects the preference of one over the other is a reflection of one's temperament more than anything else.
Sound for one and depreciation is another.
I remember your first video... I saw the car for sale online while shopping for a 360 and then saw you making the video. I’m glad the car is still with you. Did you decide to keep if for the love of the car or the hate of the annoying Ferrari shoppers? Lol
I was really tempted by another car last year but winter came. For now, think I'm going to keep her for a while.
Testarossa would be the preferred choice. Or a 328.
Sir what about a c6 corvette for $20k I assume in 4 years It will only lose about $4k does that sound fair?
Beautiful car! Not sure if you still have it as this video is a few years old, but do you mind me asking how you usually wash this car? She looks great.
Excellent job 👍🏽
Like the mods you made on your Ferrari shown in your first video. Wondering about how much it cost for these on top of the purchase price.
Thanks. Less than you think. The headboard was under $200, complete CF interior was probably around $4k. 430 wheels under $2k.
@@DriversOnly where did you get the headboard done? Would love to do something similar. Replacing sagging headliner on my Jaguar was quoted at $600+ so I expected a quilted one like yours to be a lot more.
PLEASE REVIEW c6, c7 and c8!
Gosh I drove one and disliked only one portion - the transmission. I've been looking at these for a little while now and trying to find one in a spec I like (and in my budget) with the 6 speed is so insanely difficult.
Beautiful car man.
Yup, 6 speed would be more fun but they are much more expensive. If you do get one, hold on to it forever :).
@@DriversOnly Had an opportunity for a 6 speed red on tan. Needed a radiator and front bumper. Too sketchy for me! It was $40,000.
You are right. I just bought a 2001 360 spyder yesterday. It’s a manual shift. It’s phenomenal. I tried a F1 about a year ago and hated it. It took me about 5 minutes to know I’m not buying this car. Keep looking, I did for about 3 years till I finally got the one I wanted. It’s worth the extra money, trust me.
Any problems with the f360? im looking for one..
Mind linking to the various cosmetic enhancements you made? Door panels, gauge cluster, etc. Thanks!!
looked like u wher driving through darien ill
This or a evora 400?
Wish I had seen this video before I purchased my 2011 Audi S5 a few years ago....JK I love my black pearl 🤣. Very informative video, keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks appreciate it!
Audi's are garbage. You can compare them to a honda not a ferrari
This vs your C6 Z06?
i love cars and cryto big up man
is this car fully automatic ? do i need to use shifters?
Yea there is a full auto mode but doesn't work too well. You'll want to use the paddle shifters.
Hi dude
I’m looking to buy a Modena .
What you think about cost right now after a year hen you did your video?
Thx
Cost has gone up since my video. I see them for no less than $65+ now for a low mileage one. They are starting to get rarer.
Are you still owning your Modena?
If yes, are you still happy with the car?
That’s a concern , don’t know if I expand that money on a C8 corvette or buy a Ferrari Modena.
That’s the reason I’m asking your opinion....
Thank you for your attention
I sold it earlier this year.
Ferrari 360 and F40 are my dream cars... Too bad I am too broke to even be in the same room as those cars.
Thank you. How much it cost in insurance per month or per year please?
About $450 per 6 months for me...same as my other daily drivers
Eddie huang twin! Lol
Comparing newer cars performance to a classic Ferrari is moot. You’re driving a piece of automotive history that will remain classic. I don’t care what people say. For instance, If you were driving a 60s California Spyder or say a gto you outclass EVERYTHING else on the road no matter how much faster or newer it may be.
Yes yes yes!!!
Your money ,your decision , .. I want to buy f360 too ..otw
I watched this entire video in under 30 seconds!! FIRST!!! BICH!!!
Just stop!! You can't reply to your own comments!!!
lol
