the guitar player is Jeff Healey, a real blues guitarist. He went blind at the age of one so that is why he plays the guitar over his lap like that. He had a hit song on the pop charts with Angel Eyes. He passed away in 2008 but he was one of the reasons Roadhouse is so memorable. Jeff could just flat out play and sing
You know his daughter has the same condition he had and she’s blind as well. So sad to pass something like that on to your kids.
You can’t be a real man and not like this movie. I first saw it when I was 11 years old. I still love it. I’m 42.
@scatreed
It’s sad that my nieces and nephews only know of Roadhouse through of all of the repeated RH references on Family Guy yet won’t actually take the time to give some of the MANY 80s movie references on the show a chance by watching them - such a shame too, I remind them on how much they’re missing out on assuming any movie made prior to 2010 MUST be terrible in every single way yet can’t provide me with one actual legitimate reason to that brazen close minded opinion because…well - kid logic 😅
🍿 🎥 ♥️ One day I will get them to turn around if it’s the last thing I do…this younger generation has missed out on too much and have no interest on catching up on the golden classics of the past. I know I’m getting older but damn they act like 2010 was a CENTURY ago 😂
Thanks for edukating us
Angel Eyes is a classic
J's reaction to the throat rip might be the best of ALL TIME!!!!!
Literally in and out of frame like 4 times...
"Oooh child!"
😂😂😂
This is the ultimate dude movie. Bars, Boobs, Blues, Fights, Kung fu, A monster truck and Sam freaking Elliot.
As a fellow Tim, I endorse this comment.
@@timh3576 As a Fellow Tim, I Fully Agree.......
gotta mention Terry Funk as well, wrestling legend
Yes... "All my exes live in Texas" is a real song. Sung by George Strait.
I wish J would start a music reaction channel!! Especially to see him react to music videos!!
RIP, Patrick Swayze. He made one of my favorite badass movies to watch over and over again!
"He's got a Detroit club"
I lost it
"This is the OG Road House" nah my friend. This is the only Road House. That other thing doesn't even deserve acknowledgment
The other one is wildly entertaining. 😂
Agreed 💯
The variety of movies on this channel is outstanding
I (Blank) have always tried to keep it varied. So that means a lot. LoL
@@EOMReactsBeen watching your channel for a while now. But I have a question. Would you be interested in reacting to this old cartoon series? When I say this, it's very interesting to watch. It's called swat cats it's. Very interesting and It has very interesting characters
This is an absolute 80's Classic. Swayze was a great actor and a great guy, and Sam Elliott continues to be The Man.
Oh man! That’s the late great Jeff Healey on guitar and his real band members 🎼
Jeff was awesome!
🎼🎵🎶🎸
" You fuck with him, he'll seal your fate" Great line
“Sam Elliot got some hair on him” buddy, you don’t know the half of it…
Keep in mind, Patrick Swayze was a trained dancer. His mom owned a dance studio. Which is why he was so fluid doing his fight scenes
And Jimmy is a real martial artist that actually believed that Patrick was one too. lol.
@@radicalreactions1633 Yep Marshall Teague has quite the background in several martial arts!
PS was also in Toto's Rosanna video as a dancer, one of his first tv appearances if I'm not mistaken.
Red's real nickname is "Red" (West).
Member of Elvis Presley's "Memphis Mafia". So yeah, "he's done some dirt", or "TCB" as Elvis would say... 😳😎
He looks so much like my late grandfather it's insane. His hair, his eyes, the way he talks, it's uncanny.
in Elvis crew ? never knew that
Seeing J react to throat rip best reaction ever👍
The blind guitar god - rest in peace Jeff Healy
"Girl, you ain't seen dirty dancing" I lost it!! 🤣🤣
I can listen to Samuel Elliott all day long that man's got a voice like butter! 🫠🧈
The inspiration for this plot line was a real-life case in Missouri where a hated local man was murdered in broad daylight, but no one in town seemed to have seen it.
Just an FYI "Red" is Red West a member of the Memphis Mafia and friend and bodyguard of Elvis.
Thanks. I’m 56, seen this movie hundreds of times. Why didn’t I see Keith David.😮
It's so bizarre that he's in this as little as he is once you learn that at one point he had a subplot in the movie that later got cut before the movies release.
39:34 Definitely one of the best reactions to this moment I've seen so far. 🤣🤣🤣
If there were a drinking game for anytime J says "STFU", we'd all keel over from alcohol poisoning. LOL!
RIP Terry Funk, man who worked damn near every wrestling promotion, former NWA champion, reinvented himself more than once. Middle aged and crazy. We miss ya, Terry.
If I didn’t have an answer for something I could always crack my dad up by saying (with an exaggerated drawl and kind of derpy…) ‘Polar bear fell on me’
She's Like The Wind was actually sung by Patrick Swayze, with the song going to number one on the charts as well.
🗣 ROAD HOUSE! - Peter Griffin Meme.
I WANT a screen cap of J's face when the dude's throat got ripped. Gosh darn it, on a TSHIRT!!!!! But I'll settle for my phone wallpaper. Priceless! J is THE MAN! Blank did a great job as always with this video.
"I never expected to do this in this movie." LOL! When J said that at the beginning I had a huge grin on my face. Could not wait until he got to the lake fight. And true to form, J does not disappoint. Thanks for another great reaction!
If you didn't notice that the guy that snatched the money that guy is Terry funk wrestling legend
Yeah he took a nice back bump in the liquor truck scene
RIP. he died August, last year.
Terry funk is one my favorites of all time, type up terry funk vince McMahon.... classic clip 😊
Probably help inside coriographing fight scenes 🎉
He probably was one of the choreographers for the fights scenes you might be right
I had a friend in high school that got into a fight. Beat the guy into submission,. Said "Are you done?" answer "yes." He got off the guy and walked away. The guy got up and sucker punched my friend. Who then beat him bad a second time. And to make sure he got the message... Bit off his eyebrow. Then walked away again. Some people are slow learners.
Nice work Frank. B-)
Sam Elliott is the only person that can rock a legendary beard just like Chuck Norris. And his voice is instantly recognizable, it’s the voice every dude thinks they get when knocking back a few shots of Jack Daniels.
Terry Funk from WWF
RIP Terry Funk
Anytime i see this movie or hear about it, i see Peter Griffin, then then zoom in close up of him as he stares at the camera...... "Road House!!!" Lmao
yeah honestly, I can't hear the word Roadhouse in my mind without it sounding like Peter.
“She got pregnant in a pond!” 😂
One of the (many) great things about this film is the way it holds off on showing you Dalton's true power level until he puts that guy's face through the table. "Did you see that shit?" Just a perfect way to pull that off.
20:44 I use Red's line about the hobby-horse to this very day!
That gentleman coming in is Kevin Thighe ....from that 1970's TV show Emergency
30:53 Yup, it was released released by George Strait back in '87.
31:49 I was never a big Jeff Healey fan, but his covers of other people's songs were Fire! 🔥🔥🔥
36:36 Truly one of the most Bad-Ass moments in Cinematic History. Sam is a Legend.
37:05 Juuust a minute too early with that call. 🤣
You know, the bartender who was crooked in this, was a good guy in Pure Country the very next year, with George Strait. I love that film.
I never thought about that! Never watched both films close to each other so I never even thought about what else I knew him from!! Pure Country is a great movie with an amazing soundtrack of course;) Love George Strait!!
Thank God you are doing a reaction to this and not that awful remake!
The remake was ok and had its moments, but this is a Classic.
Conor McGregor can't act for shit in that remake!
@@stevenmoules4955 Oh yeah, that dude should never be in another movie.
The remake wasn't that bad until mcgregor appeared...
Agreed. Remake was lame
Yes,,,All My X's Live in Texas🎶 is a Real Song,,,,and was/is Quite popular🎉
39:35 - perfection.
39:31 FATALITY.💯
46:18 The Polar Bear Fell On Me LMAO.🤣
@JL Was neat to finally see this when it was on premier. As always your comments always make a film better. Guilty pleasure for many of us. Love the bromance between Patrick and Sam. Ty to the @EOM Staff and the amazing editor :). Also thanks so much to the patrons who keep this channel going
Can't wait, Jay, you are going to love this movie!!
Keith David is in sooooo many movies and he always kills it, great actor
You really need to watch Mask (1985) with Sam Elliot. He's great in that.
Oh that is such a good movie❤️
So good. Reactors are sleeping on it. But surely someone will finally take our suggestion. Hopefully JL first.
I was told Roadhouse was a B movie. Never believed it, and I still have yet to see any evidence of it.
The Jeff Healey Band!!!!!!!
If they don’t flinch apologize immediately 😂😂😂😂😂
This is one of my all time favorite action movies!
An absolute classic. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece but it’s still great. The remake has nothing on the original.
I refuse to watch the remake. I just don't understand remaking most movies. I like when they expand on the world, the way the new franchise of Planet of the Apes has done... not just remake the original. It just seems like plagiarism. It feels cheap. It feels lazy.
This phenomenal piece of work with the late, great Patrick Swayze is from producer Joel Silver (Lethal Weapon, 2 of the Die Hard
films, The Matrix).
Part of the trinity of films that made Swayze an screen icon, along with Dirty Dancing and GHOST.
Swayze trained with Martial Arts' legend, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez
who also makes a cameo in the movie.
Most definitely made as an modern-day Western with
all the troupes you may know.
Dalton as an philosopical bouncer knows the nature of man
and how to kick man's a^^.
A lot of what he says is kinda true.
Believe it or not, a lot of guys who became bouncers took his knowledge and used it.
The late Ben Gazzara (Wesley), hot as hell Kelly Lynch (Doc) and
Sam Elliott (Wade) are all cool casting.
The late Jeff Healey (Cody) was an amazing artist and his band recorded many songs for the soundtrack (recently re-released).
There was a almost forgotten sequel in 2006, Road House 2:Last Call, straight to video and was sort of ok.
The remake was announced back in 2014 with Rob Cohen (The Fast and The Furious) as director and Ronda Rousey as the lead.
Even if it took a decade to make it happen with Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor MacGregor,
I wish it had been was theatrical instead of a home release.
Red was played by Red West, a childhood friend and one time bodyguard of Elvis. He was, I'm pretty sure, in every Elvis movie. He was also friends with Robert Conrad and was in several episodes of Wild, Wild West. The actor LLoyd Olen "Sunshine" Parker who played Emmet is in one of my all-time favorite movies. I doubt if there are many, if any, people out there who know the movie. It's called Cannery Row and stars Nick Nolte and Debra Winger, and a cast of oddball characters. I've never seen the "new" version of this movie so I don't know if it's good or bad. All I know is that this movie never gets old.
This movie is still as fun as when I first saw it at age 14 lol
Watching J look so happy throughout this movie made the reaction~!!!
Didn't even get past the first scene before my guy went on a rant lol
Do Point Break! The original of course
“Billy Ray Cyrus, the Great Value version.”😂 That was great!
Love your content mate- big fan
Absolutely love the 3 ninjas shirt! Rockin the Rocky, Colt and Tum Tum!
One of the best "What he say?" moments from J, on the channel, in this on. 😂
A great movie my mom loved this movie. Thank you for reacting to this movie and God bless.
Fastest pause of any movie, and it was real! 😂
Awesome reaction dude! I'm a new subscriber and can't wait to visit your back catalogue. Also where can I get that tshirt it's amazing!!
"Road House!" - Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) Family Guy (1999)
Fun Fact: According to Kelly Lynch, whenever Bill Murray sees her sex scene with Patrick Swayze on television, he calls her husband, Mitch Glazer, to tease him about it.
Music Enthusiast Fact: The band playing at the start of the movie is Cruzados. After the band disbanded, lead singer Tito Larriva formed the band Tito & Tarantula, which is the band that played at the Titty Twister in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996).
Roundhouse Kick Fact: According to Sam Elliott, all of the actors did their own stunts. They were all trained by Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, a holder of nine black belts in nine different disciplines. Urquidez believed so much in Patrick Swayze's abilities, that he suggested Swayze become a competitive kickboxer.
Benny the jet is in a couple of Jackie Chan movies if you want to see him in action. Badass bad guy. 😮
Sam was a young buck on Gunsmoke long ago and he's still a boss in movies today.
The character of Westley is kind of based on true events where some dude I forgot his name was being a menace to the town and at the end the town people had enough so they killed him and covered it up
His name was Ken Rex McElroy.
@@susanberrier5727 oh cool. Thanks
I could have sworn that this was one of the movies that I was recommending to you on Facebook and you told me that you already seen this one.
Thanks for Playing🤣🤣
You want to see another caged band then you need to watch the blues brothers
This is one of my top 5 movies of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang that 50 minutes went by too fast. I’m glad you liked this movie It’s one of my favs next to Next of Kin and Black Dog. Great reaction as always. Much love❤️
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
RIP Chainsaw Charlie and Terry Funk.
Always loved this movie happy you like it too good reaction j❤
Awesome as always! Thanks for the fun! The Keith David reaction!! 🤣♥
This is one of those movies that if I am flipping through channels and come across this movie … I have to finish it.
Jay , how old are your co-pilots? I love that you include them in your reactions.
Any reaction with fur-babies is immediately 10-12% better. 😺🐶🥰
You know the reaction is going to be good when within the first three minutes J is pausing to rant about something he saw on screen.
I was just gonna say: did we not notice the TERRY FUNK in this? Hardcore wrestling legend?
The name... is Romulus.
I knew this reaction would be amazing and I wasn't disappointed. NEED a follow up reaction to the remake
I am SO bummed I miss the live viewing! Dang it! J, your reactions once again had me on the floor. I appreciate your sage real-world advice about when to apologize to scary people. I will be sure to keep those pointers in mind. This was another deliciously-over-the-top 80s movie that was such a spectacle, it ended being much funnier than what the producers intended.
$100 in '89 is about $253 today. Same Elliot is listed by google at 6'2''.
wow 6:42 RIP to that legend Terry Funk in the green shirt
To this day this is one of my favorite movies. No, it is not deep but it is very satisfying and a lot of fun and a little dark. I'm a huge fan of Ben Gazzara, Sam Elliott, Patrick Swayze, Kevin Tighe, Marshall McTeague. What's the exception of Marshall McTeague I was fans of them prior to Road House. And for 1 minute I did want that gingham dress that Kelly Lynch wore.
Jasper is about 2 seconds worth of town outside of Kansas City. It is close to Joplin which is the bigger city which is hilarious because Joplin isn't that big in and of itself but it is bigger than Jasper. I guarantee you that in and around Jasper people handled their business and there are lots of unmarked things in the woods. This is one of the reasons why Red was so comfortable gathering guns and saying they didn't see a thing and the police believing them.
I like Jonathan Schaech but don't bother with the sequel. I have no interest in watching the remake with Jake Gyllenhaal.
However, you probably should watch Next of Kin with Patrick Swayze and Helen Hunt and Liam Neeson among a few others.
Love how by your reaction the JCpenny line aged well and still works. Because we all had that same reaction you did.
Great reaction, J... but I love it when you stop the video for a PSA.
The more you know...
The Double Doosh ..one of Sam's most iconic Lines..😂
The guy playing the guitar on his lap is Jeff Healey. He was born blind and did not know that the guitar was held differently because he taught himself to play the guitar. Is most known song is called Angel Eyes
I have played many bars like that one when I was younger and better looking, if you didn't have a gun when you got there, they gave you one before you went in 😂
J's reaction to the throat rip was 😂 please watch To Wong Fu! A whole different side of Patrick Swayze.
This is gonna be good ,
J you are looking fantastic!❤❤❤
Nobody wins a fight..
"You know it's not real"....big bada 💥 excellent timing 😂😂😂
Bet you I watch this over 50x and still not sick of this movie. If you took notice all shot guns at the end so not traceable.
the blind guitarist's name is jeff healey, you should check him out.
