The reason Ricky got naked and was running around because of invisible flames is because in the 70s in NASCAR, they would use methanol as fuel, which when it leaked, could ignite but burns with an invisible flame. There are old videos of drivers running around on invisible fire.
I wish this comment wasn't a fact, but methanol fires are terrifyingly real... And impossible to diagnose on the fly, especially with all of the chaos going on....

We had a 17yo plumber that we called Ricky Bobby. He was a goof when he first started. Now he is going on 30 and is a great plumber. Runs his own crew. Still a derpy dude but he learned fast.
Can't ignore Crystal Gale on Ricky Bobby's shirt as he's lookin' at the other cougar ;) in the car! With her midnight locks straight down to the stage in her heels, she was our '70's singing queen!🎵🔥
The Hakuna Matata line, on the commentary of the uncensored version of the DVD, had a long, censored discussion about the director wrestling someone on the island of Komodo for the rights to the line (you can tell from context and length of the bleeps that he was saying Mike Eisner). He claimed that he and Mike fathered hundreds of children there after their fight fulfilled a local tribal prophesy but that he thought they probably wouldn't form rival societies.
Wasn't that also the same commentary where the director played his own son in the future, and everyone stayed in character like it was a 20 year reunion or something like that? And didn’t Adam talk about how his dad (himself) died in a terrible hammerhead shark attack? If so, that commentary track was absolute gold. I miss commentaries and hidden Easter eggs on dvds.
@@butkusfan23 There were multiple DVD releases with separate DVD commentaries. The "true" director's commentary was on the Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby UNRATED version. The 20th reunion version was the normal version, I believe.
"Sometimes at night I dress up like Donna Summers..." RIP to Michael Clark Duncan. He was so funny and big hearted😢 Check him out in Slammin Salmon, from the Super Trooper guys (Broken Lizard)
"I don't know this dude's name..." Gary Cole plays Reese Bobby to perfection. It's his dry delivery of the most out of pocket nonsense that kills me. He's in a ton of stuff, but try him as Mike Brady in The Brady Bunch movies

My most common quotes, "Don't put that evil on me", "Anarchy", "Baby Jesus", and "I don't know what to do with my hands". 🤣

Ricky's Dad (Gary Cole) has been in TONS of movies and TV, but I always think of him as the guy from "Office Space" (1999). Of course now I think of him as Ricky Bobby's Dad His filmography is massive. 🤙😎
I googled the actors in the movie because I forgot john c reiley's name, and the kid that played ricky at the school when his dad comes in to talk about his racing, his picture is of him getting his mugshot in jail lol
