Cool video, and excellent work. You have a really good skills to fly it in such a dark night. Even though the IR LEDs are ON, it's not easy! At some moment in the video there was a blinding glare, and at another moment, it was pitch dark, but still you kept flying. Yes, one can easily get disorientated in blink of an eye in such situation. Enjoyed; great! Thanks for sharing :)

Hello there mate. Just to correct one misunderstanding. The differnce between the cams quality at night lies in the difference of the sensor, not the lense. Depending how big the sensor is and rhe quality of the sensor( how much light can it work with) will influence your image

You gotta try it with one of your older quads if you have one and fly it even without the led board but at dusk when it is starting to get too dark for regular fpv cameras. It'll give you another hour to fly but if you use the led board, you can just about fly all night :)

RC Escape i’ve lost track of gearbest, since i started building the quads myself. I’m surprised to hear the B-fight is still available. As i recall, it is a very descent quad especially for the price it came for. Cheers mate.

Rubber band was the only thing I could think of and it may be safer since it'll just break off and lessen the impact on the board but a better mounting system is in need for sure so you can just change out the battery without remounting the led board every time :) Thanks Greg! :) I may invest in a 3D printer some day and start learning how to use it.

Most "classic drones" can only be flown with the controller it came with but there are controllers like Jumper multi protocol transmitters that can bind to just about all models. It however have limited protocols and the zino and fimi protocols are not included as of yet. Thanks :)

Is there a legal reason why regular drones don't have infrared cameras like this? seems like an obvious cool feature to have to use as a security drone in your own property. New to drones so don't know anything about them.

Very nice Pete, now you just have to figure out how to mount it a little more secure in case of a crash.

Try to get either 1.8mm or 2.1mm camera lens for better FOV :)
Beta fpv x- knight means x- night starlight vision . Brite as noon at night but with no shadows . No infra red headlight .

Can you get a smaller IR light board and 3D print a flash light like housing to concentrate the IR beams and increase the distance?

Maybe not so safe for everyone I would think.
Removing the IR filter messes with the daytime ability of the camera. You'd have to run two cameras and that's not cost/weight effective.
