Hey guys I’m the kid in this video I’ve been reading these comments for years and they really help me out when I’m down so thank you for that and I’m still practicing flying soon will make a video thank you for a being a great community
Watch the Experiment i did last week on my Vacation in Spain (on my Channel) the Guy was ready in 2h Sim and flew my main Gear in a good way ! It WORKS
Lucky Rotors FPV Good for you. Now, maybe, please stop responding to every post telling us about it. We get it, you want people to watch your video and subscribe to your channel.
Dudes I had a huge smile on my face *everytime* he recovered from the snap rolls and flips. It was great watching you guys teaching and encouraging him. 👍
This is freaking great! There are three major steps to, throttle management, turning, and orientation (FPV and LOS). I'm confident people can pick it up in a day if they break it down like this video did!
Thank you! It literally took me 3 hours in the Simulator and I did Powerloops, Gapshoots and a Rubikscube in my first "Real" flight. You guys are really doing something good for the community and I really appreciate that! Thanks! Also the tip with the: "Don't start in Angle" was definately the way to go! It feels very good not needing the anglemode at all!
Thanks guys I am 67 yr old. I have flown rc ( planes heli wings) in competition for 50 yrs. Also flown my full size Pitts In airshows. It has all been line of site. I had the hardest time going to fpv. Your video has been a blessing. Hopefully I will be racing this summer. Rock on Guys. Thanks Rick D.
This video should be a must for people getting into the hobby. It stops people from jumping into the deep end and getting into trouble. It's one of the reasons why this hobby might get banned and no one wants that. Thanks guys!!
Holy frickin shit. This is amazing. All three of you are great teachers but Bardwell let me say at the slight risk of being too cheesey', for the first time watching a tutorial video " I truly learned something today" I actually learned more than I've learned from everything else Ive watched accumulated.
I love that you started him on a sim. My friend has only been flying for a couple months. He is going to Rampage with us. He is trying to get as much time on the sticks as possible before than. But he keeps breaking stuff and costing himself money. I keep trying to tell him he should just fly a sim to save wear and tear on his gear and he will build that muscle memory. He always points out that the sim isn't the same. He is not wrong. No sim feels like real life. But... the stick movements are always the same. SIM time can have a huge affect on your flying.
Oh man this helped me immensely, I just started with the sim and I was having a lot of issues with the turning....Instant sub! I'm trying to get my chops before I buy the actual hardware
When you get 1 dont do as I did. Got it at dark with 30mph winds. After I put it together and set up radio I put it away. Later at a out 2 am. I couldn't sleep it was calling my name. I flew the tiny whoop around the house but couldn't take it anymore so I went out in the middle of the street. I was just gonna Hoover it. All good till I just barely bumped the throttle it went about 20' right now it startled me so I dumped the throttle. The quad was falling like a brick so I whacked the throttle like a whoop. BAD BAD BAD!!! quad went about 200' its dark and there's s huge redwood tree on the corner. So I dumped the throttle and boom hit the edge of my cop neighbors house. He looks just like the ROCK but bigger lol. Blew the battery off it hit the esc. So quad would no longer fly. I fixed it, but it takes forever to get parts. I suck at soldering so it only flew for like 2 min. And dropped a motor out hit my truck ( huge dent) then started smoking before I got it unplugged it caught the esc on fire. So I ordered 2 more esc's. Then I burnt the tabs on original flight controller. So I ordered another one. It didn't come for a month. Now I have new soldering stations 2 third hands every type of light and magnifying glass you can think of. My $300 dollar investment is around a grand if you add in the whoops I've bought to learn with. So GOOD LUCK!!!
LOL, I'm actually thinking of getting a ready to build kit to cut some of the pain. I also need a new soldering station since mine is crap and only good enough for big jobs, I already invested in a radio and am looking at FPV Goggles. So yeah, I know what you mean, this is looking like an expensive startup, and I haven't even started crashing yet.
You're spamming the comments in my humble opinion. You've mentioned it in response to nearly every comment. Take it down a notch please :-) No hard feelings.
I just started in the simulator today. Loft off, and this video just helped me out a lot. So thank for making it. You guys RUclips channel is awesome. Thank you for all the great content.
Props (no pun intended) to you guys, I've been thinking about getting into the FPV scene for awhile and was worried about how to start going about it without knowing anybody who could train me and this video (which I have saved for later) was incredibly helpful and educational and well done to Blaze for his ability to fly in such a short amount of time, keep up the great work mates, cheers.
I learned LOS with a syma x5. Got velocidrone and drl sim, learned acro quick , getting that dialed and then will build a couple quads. picked up a couple radios. totally hooked. love this stuff . retired motocross guy. this gives me my fix. I appreciate all these vids!!! great community.
This is how I got to know JB ! Doing the baby steps on fpv freerider! Thank you Josh for all that you have done for fpv. Thanks Stingy for your rates video = it’s all about the rates. Le Drib your videos are what I watch before I go out and fly. The “I didn’t want the GoPro HERO6 Black” video blew my mind. You really are next level.
I spent my first hours on the simulator last night. I don't know why RUclips showed me this old video but the timing is perfect and it'll be very helpful ♥️ After flying a phantom for a few years I understand the basics but there were some tips in here that are specific to fpv drones. They would have taken me a long time to figure out. I learned something today. Thanks!
This is by far the most helpful FPV tutorial video for beginners I've seen on RUclips. I have experience in other RCs but never FPV before. With the help of you guys I'm sure I am making progress faster than ever!
the way joshua started about him getting to 5inch at around 1:10 was hilarious to me. the sheer doubt in his voice just cracked me up. also runescape with vr goggles great episode
Such a perfect video for starting out. Gives you a realistic progression of how you should practice and gives a better perspective on the real learning curve of flying a quad. I recently started on a simulator and I learned VERY quickly that good pilots truly make it look way easier than it is. I feel like every person I know who tried drones at some point thought it would be easier to get into, got into a big crash and stopped all together. Having realistic expectations of your skill level will make more people stick around!
I like how you guys go through this, most are so uptight like it's a secret that noone can do unless they are seasoned pros. Appreciate you, kid did great I'm gonna try acro and hit some simulator
That was a great episode. Awesome to see someone jump right in. The experience is so much better when you have people there to help you begin your journey. Many of us wasted tons of hours and money trying to start blind in the hobby. New pilots these days are so lucky to have all of the resources that are now available.
Very Impressive Blaze, I will look forward to seeing your videos on youtube soon. Great job on the instruction too. One thing that was not mentioned on the video is when shooting gaps, don't look at the tree, you will tend to hit what ever you are looking at. Pick an object that is centered in the gap and a ways beyond the gap and stay focused on that until you are through the gap. This technique works for all gaps no matter how small.
Just bought my first quad and have been watching a lot of videos on RUclips in preparation. So many good ones, but I have to say this feels like it’s gonna be so helpful when I think about my first flight. Thanks guys!
Guys outstanding, these type of videos will help grow the Fpv world. Us newbies not alway have the time required to learn Fpv through the school of hard knocks, so these videos do give us a slight jump in the hobbie any forward movement feels like we can do it. Great job.
damn not bad! better than me after a few weeks. i started on a 2" dumper and then got a mantis. from there i went 5" and finally whoops. honestly sim to whoop to 5 is a much more logical movement in learning, and clearly this guy also though so. this is the content we need for sure, this is what will get more people into the hobby, and give us a much wider community.on a side note, ive now seen a few videos with presidrib, and i gotta say, drew, im very happy with how things are going. im just one guy, and its all opinion, but this video, the session 7 review, ect, they have a different feel to them, if that makes sense, and i love it.just dont stop vloggin because you and grinder were pretty much my afternoon as far as watching the content you guys produced individually, and the several videos you guys did together.
The fpv fideo at the end is pretty much everybodies experience in doing fpv for the first time.. its impressive how fast we progress from these baby steps to "FPV Blisss" .. Great video guys 👍👍😁
Glad to see you guys helping new pilots get into the hobby. I flew RC aircraft (planes, helicopters, gliders, etc) for well over 20 years and had lots of help. Then learning FpV was a blast and definitely needed help, keep it up 👊
Love it. This was a very cool episode. I’m just getting into the FPV side of the drone hobby and it’s nice to see a current how to for beginners. Thanks, keep it up and when is a new podcast episode coming?
this is absolutley perfect! does this dude have any idea how lucky he is!!!? lmao. you saved him weeks of trial and error and a bunch of money! great job guys!
to me whats being explained can be easily done by saying "it handles like a helo in arma" for anyone whos played arma 2/3 aside from button positioning im sure can agree, but i like how your working through this and its nice to know theres a sim game on steam to try in before you get way into it
Great video! I think this is a great foundation for anyone looking to lower that barrier to entry for someone getting into FPV. JB is a natural instructor.
I freakin love this video like the way you guys hyped him up on corrections n stuff and even handled your nervousness when he almost hit the trees it was great. I don’t often watch a full 16-17 minute video but I’ll most likely watch this several times.
Great video! That’s what I needed to get started)) also an idea for next video, you teach the same guy to build a drone from scratch (choosing all details, building, tuning , connecting to radio controller and glasses, and in the end making a flight)
I started flying the late spring and I've been in love it since. I'm running a Lisam210 with an Iflight succex-e F4. I've got a similar build in the simulator and that seems to help with thumb memory. Once I was comfortable in the air, I started learning acro and I've not looked back since.
Wish I had this treatment. It took me 2 seasons to get where you took him in 6 hours. Of course that was before sims really were going and I had to build and sort the equipment out. To top it I made the mistake of learning in autolevel, so I had to do it over again once I got the quads flying right. What really got me to break thru was a combination of the release of liftoff and then I sat with a tiny whoop flying from a lawn chair to a trash can. I kept moving the trash can out farther and next thing I knew (in a month or so), I was flying around the garage. I then settled in on the 5 inch. Add to the story I'm nearly 60 so I don't learn nearly as fast as the youngsters do.I also watched Joshua's series a couple times, but that was late in the game for me. I'm now trying to refine my basic moves and hit smaller gaps. I'm going to Rampage anyway. It's been my motivation all summer. This summer I took my son Brad (20) out and had him flying in a day. The bottom line is get help if possible and buy a sim (or 2) - I like Freerider's premium package, but still use Liftoff occasionally. Good video, it will help a lot of people, half my problem was not knowing where to start, and I got way off track a few times. This is a step by step for those people, and just knowing the process will be a big help to them.
Great. I started the hobby. The last week was my first time flying a drone build by myself. Some crashes and propells damage. I'm not sure if I have to adjust PIDs and Rates. I still practicing. From Quito- Ecuador, South America.
god I wish these sims were available when I started! still had fun spending endless hours with my Blade Nano QX! that was the best beginner coptor I could have ever had
Honestly watching him crash it and hearing the guys go super cautious with him and hear their natural reactions when he was "getting it" was a big breath of fresh air!
This type of video is exactly what I was looking for! I really wish you would have had a camera on the actual remote too just to see visually. I would love to have you guys help me out like that for even 1 day I'm sure helps confidence SO much! Also that kwad camp link doesn't work.
Nice video! I've put in simulator time, and started with the acrobee using mocking bird (Thanks for that video JB). Walk through was Awesome. Thanks to all pro pilots that upload videos and want more people to learn.
You explaining it helped me learn why my drone moved the way it did with my controller. Coming from the gaming world in use to one side doing everything but when you gave the analogy of the fighter jet I felt I understood both sticks a bit better
Been watching a ton of rotor riot videos today, made me want to get into FPV! Just ordered one online today, can't wait! Hopefully the trip from China goes a little faster than I'm expecting
Spooky, I'm right in the middle of watching AvE's latest video, "Power of the Learning Curve", I bet that applies to this just as much as anything else :)
He got through the acro suck zone faster than I did, but even with that crack team of FPV pilots coaching him and his gaming background it's still impressive how quickly he learnt.
yeah, pretty good for a beginner. My FPV gear is on the way,Its gonna take some time get through the suck zone but eventually there would be a happy zone
Yeah he did well. I did the same Experiment on my Vacation in Spain and my Guy was in the Air after 2 hours Sim and i gave him my main Gear for the test. Take a look on my Channel´s latest Video ;)
I'm a retired old fart who gave up gaming when it got too, in my mind, non-DOS. Short story is that after starting photo droning with one Mavic and a couple of other budget drones I decided to check out budget FPV. I got Liftoff and a TX12 for the PC but still no effective lessons for beginners. You've boosted my confidence to keep studying. BTW, I live on a beach in Japan where green land is for farming and golf courses are for golf. While not a young gamer, I think I can advance in 248 hours or so. Cheers!
Great video guys! I just got into the hobby a couple weeks ago so I'm as green as can be! I got myself the RTF TinyHawk set and fly it as often as I can. It's a ton of fun, I crash a lot still but I hope I can be even half as good as some of you guys out there some day!
Fantastic video. Bardwell (all of them, really) is a great teacher. I’m on the cusp of becoming an enthusiast (still need to by my first drone), but I learned a lot just watching this video. Thank you!
thanks so much. I'm Soon to retire, kids out of the house, & looking to get back into RC. Use to drive gas buggies, but really love drones. Just a little intimidated. Your vid locked me in! Thanks
That was fun to watch. Definitely helped that he was a "natural" probably from the video game background. y'all might want to lower the rates the next time you teach someone. Full deflection was crazy fast for a beginner, imo.
Excellent video! I never could get my simulator to work so i started with tinys. Now after learning how to not crash many quads this vid gave me the guts to try rolls and flips. I'm out in the moring! Thank you
Thanks for this. I'm learning, and I got the hang of the simulator, but was getting bummed out by not being able to fly a micro around my house without crashing into everything. Even I can fly a micro in a straight line, so now I'm not so worried about taking a proper quad out (if BG ever deliver it) :)
i think Liftoff is the best way to enter in this world... i play a few days on Pc with the Ps4 controller, and i save many time my (real) drone thanks to the training on computer. Excelent program, excelent physic.
great advice, I especially liked the fat sweaty one, he had some interesting things to say. I had a fly away last year but plan to do more FPV very soon.
Beautifully done guys. Keep rockin love stuff like this. I just started fpv . I came from flying camera drones like DJI mavic line. So far I’m learning and this was awesome 👍🤟🏻
It's great to see stuff like this, I started flying tricopters about 4 yrs ago, just line of sight though, no fpv, did not have anyone to help me, what did help me a lot was my 10 yrs of heli experience. My 1st build was a bit smaller than a 250 size, my HK kk mini board was lets say fun to set up? got it figured out though with the help of google. Jump 1 yr forward bought a cheap HK 5.8 ghz system and was pumped, saw many fpv vids on youtube and thought hey this looks easy? nope totally different than watching it, I tried several times and failed, could not bring my self to even lift of the ground, felt to unstable, tried it in airplanes to, I would get the plane up maybe 200 ft put on goggles and be like "where am I i'm lost, so I just gave it up until about a few weeks ago, got the itch to try again, scratch built a brushless micro quad, used a better newer board and I am really getting it now, nice to have something called "Angle" will try acro soon. This is an awesome new way to fly!
Have you guys considered setting up some sort of camping event where one of the main activities each day is teaching people to fly, like during 4 days or something? (would of course involve hiring instructors, equipment, people to do maintenance on the equipment etc)
Yea that would be interesting. But I’d have a heavy bet on he stopped not too long after like most of us who can’t spend most of our time flying quads. At the very least I hope he learned pinch instead of thumbs like they taught him
@@mrmidnight32 I told myself I was gonna do pinch when starting FPv ( as opposed to DJI drones) but you know what, it seems I still feel more comfortable using my thumbs, is that bad?
Hey guys I’m the kid in this video I’ve been reading these comments for years and they really help me out when I’m down so thank you for that and I’m still practicing flying soon will make a video thank you for a being a great community
Sick! It’s great to hear that you carried on flying drones . 💪🏾💪🏾
Yeah man keep going strong
Hey there, I am also from RI. Let me know if you wanna fly
looking forward to it bro!
Thanks for helping us live vicariously through you. Stay strong my dude - best wishes!
This is the best "how to fly an FPV" on RUclips. As a new pilot, I learned a ton
More people will go into this hobby because of you guys
Can confirm, x220 wizard arrived 2 days ago :D
Watch the Experiment i did last week on my Vacation in Spain (on my Channel) the Guy was ready in 2h Sim and flew my main Gear in a good way ! It WORKS

Agreed !
tried to teach it to my gf in liftoff. she was able to fly +/- nice curves after 2h. but then she lost interest. next aproach soon :)
it worked for me

Dude, Bardwell is such a good teacher. He's constantly ushering in new people to the hobby by breaking down the super high cost of entry.
This video should be a must for people getting into the hobby.
It stops people from jumping into the deep end and getting into trouble. It's one of the reasons why this hobby might get banned and no one wants that. Thanks guys!!

This dude pulls a half roll snap/ half rubiks out of no where and its like,” oh no! This guy has natural talent!”
Hehe it´s easy Bro as you can see in my last Vid. He was awesome and ready in 2h total ;)
You're spamming the comments in my humble opinion. You've mentioned it in response to nearly every comment. Take it down a notch please :-)
No hard feelings.
Sorry Josh, you know it´s hard for raising channels but i got you and felt the same 👍
Lucky Rotors FPV I tried to tell you... Did you listen? No. Now you've heard it from the man himself. Stop spamming.
Nowhere is one word
I just started in the simulator today. Loft off, and this video just helped me out a lot. So thank for making it. You guys RUclips channel is awesome. Thank you for all the great content.
I feel lucky for this guy for being a part of that practice with you guys.
Thanks for that great content brothers

i really admire how patient u were. A really good teacher
I remember my first roll outside the simulator - the adrenaline rush short after was epic :)
Yooooo this gives me so much confidence when I start building and preparing for my first drone! Love JB and everyone he works with. Blaze did awesome!
Ayy man good shit. Forreal. I appreciate and respect your comment for sure.
Right! I had that too. First a skyviper. Then blade nano. Then an inductrix +, now I have a tinyhawk.. lol
Man... imagine having Bardwell over your shoulder when you picked up the sticks for the first time! Lucky guy!
Thanks guys StingersSwarm, Le Drib , Joshua Bardwell. Thanks to you guys i just started into this hobby.
Thank you for this video ☺️ I'm sorry I didn't take the opportunity to meet LeDrib in Croatia. Love you guys ❤️
It's gonna be a suck zone
He got through the acro suck zone faster than I did, but even with that crack team of FPV pilots coaching him and his gaming background it's still impressive how quickly he learnt.
yeah, pretty good for a beginner. My FPV gear is on the way,Its gonna take some time get through the suck zone but eventually there would be a happy zone
Yeah he did well. I did the same Experiment on my Vacation in Spain and my Guy was in the Air after 2 hours Sim and i gave him my main Gear for the test. Take a look on my Channel´s latest Video ;)
Skoocum as frig
I'm a retired old fart who gave up gaming when it got too, in my mind, non-DOS. Short story is that after starting photo droning with one Mavic and a couple of other budget drones I decided to check out budget FPV. I got Liftoff and a TX12 for the PC but still no effective lessons for beginners. You've boosted my confidence to keep studying. BTW, I live on a beach in Japan where green land is for farming and golf courses are for golf. While not a young gamer, I think I can advance in 248 hours or so. Cheers!
I’m a newb and a customer and a Fan. Keep up the Great work you guys are Awesome ambassadors of the sport/hobby👍
Great video guys! I just got into the hobby a couple weeks ago so I'm as green as can be! I got myself the RTF TinyHawk set and fly it as often as I can. It's a ton of fun, I crash a lot still but I hope I can be even half as good as some of you guys out there some day!
This is a fantastic video for anyone trying to learn or even teaching FPV from scratch!
Awesome 😊
Fantastic video. Bardwell (all of them, really) is a great teacher. I’m on the cusp of becoming an enthusiast (still need to by my first drone), but I learned a lot just watching this video. Thank you!
That’s great how you guys introduce and train people who have no experience on flying FPV drones.👍🏽
thanks so much. I'm Soon to retire, kids out of the house, & looking to get back into RC. Use to drive gas buggies, but really love drones. Just a little intimidated. Your vid locked me in! Thanks
Just jumped head first into the fpv rabbit hole. Picked up a Radio and Liftoff, this should be fun!
this happened two years ago I have NO REASON to be this excited over his improvement but I AM excited this was so much fun to watch
That guy did a good job, well done.
He did brilliant!
He did good but my Testperson made it excellent in 2h Sim to Acro 5" as you can see on my latest Vid ;)
Excellent video guys, I'm fairly new to all this myself and all you showed Blaze I feel will help me tremendously. Keep up the great work.
That was fun to watch. Definitely helped that he was a "natural" probably from the video game background. y'all might want to lower the rates the next time you teach someone. Full deflection was crazy fast for a beginner, imo.
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen! So many great tips taught really well
Excellent video! I never could get my simulator to work so i started with tinys. Now after learning how to not crash many quads this vid gave me the guts to try rolls and flips. I'm out in the moring! Thank you
WOW!!!! Im REALLY IMPRESSED!!!!! Well done!!! I want the channel of this new pilot (when he has one)!
Here is the Original
Well done Blaze and of course well done to you guys, Josh, Drew and Stingy. Great episode! :)
Thanks to this video I've bought my first radio (Taranis Q x7s) and its great to learn things from you guys!
i think Liftoff is the best way to enter in this world... i play a few days on Pc with the Ps4 controller, and i save many time my (real) drone thanks to the training on computer. Excelent program, excelent physic.
I’m a total beginner and this was SUPER helpful! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this Video. Getting Liftoff Sim/game this weekend. Get skills up then get a quad.
great advice, I especially liked the fat sweaty one, he had some interesting things to say.
I had a fly away last year but plan to do more FPV very soon.
Fat sweaty😂😂😂 im dying😂
hudobnez 🤣 oh god!
Joshua haha
Beautifully done guys. Keep rockin love stuff like this. I just started fpv . I came from flying camera drones like DJI mavic line. So far I’m learning and this was awesome 👍🤟🏻
I'm gonna get a RC and start practicing on a simulator... You guys are just great teachers.
(would of course involve hiring instructors, equipment, people to do maintenance on the equipment etc)
im just starting ACRO with out fpv, this is great for tips .....such as turning etc,,,,its clearer than others i believe they are using ANGLE,
This video is awesome. I will start flying my kwad, been in the bag since I build them. Have not enough guts to fly it just yet. Thanks guys
I like this and puts it in so much more perspective. Thank You. I will try these things on my mini quad.
Broyou can use your main Quad after a couple of Sessions on the Sim. My Testperson (last Vid on my Channel) was ready in 2h total
You guys were awesome with the training. Looks like Blaze is a natural. Way to go man!
Hey man check my last Vid ! My Testperson was ready in 2h and he was very good
@@LuckyRotorsFPV will do👍👍👍
Thx my Friend 👍
This video is 2 years ago. I really curious about what skills level is this guy right now.
@@joelelhadj6993 No! Personal preference! I see most people pinch but there are still a lot of people who thumb, use what makes YOU a better pilot!
@@joelelhadj6993 No its not, there's many pro pilots that fly thumbs... Its really about comfort, you can be good at both
@@maltepettersson3083 I thumb cause thats what I’m use to flying RC planes
Got me digging into my savings, great job fellas. Bardwell, I may have to take you up on some of those simulator lessons.
what an uplifting & inspiring video. thank you.
it's always so enjoyable to bring people to our hobby!
FPV is here to stay ;)
Check out the one I brought to the hobby. It´s called From Zero to Hero ;) It was so awesome
Nobody is giving you right to spread this addiction to whole world 😀😀 Love you guys
My favorite RR episode so far.. and there are a lot of great ones to choose from!
Thanks for letting me both fly my avata in manual in real life for the first time and helped me crashed it. Danke😅
Best explanation of a coordinated turn I've ever seen! Thank you.
My first drone is coming in thursday and I'm so excited! Been on simulator for well over a day lmao
thanks for this. played around with a tiny hawk yesterday but this will definitely help me out on day 2
