Trying some new stretches with big pike lures

Big lures: Big pike? I went out exploring some stretches on the Avon I've never fished before, there's some great water out there if you don't mind looking for it.
I found a really nice stretch that ran only around 7 feet deep and not too fast with plenty of cover for some big pike. I took some slow sinking big lures and tried to find some monster pike.
Great session, but the driving ended up taking at least half of my time for the day.
