I had one of these lovely cars back in the 1970s.
I eventually sold it for twice what I'd paid for it!
The main weakness was rust in the under-floor panels. Very 1960s!

Beautiful example, Rootes Group cars were very popular in NZ 👍. Dad had a 1964 Singer Vogue, previous model, all very stylish cars ❤

Seems like this changed hands very recently -- few interesting things to note. It is a 1964 model, not a 1966, as noted by the B registration but also the older 1592cc CI head engine. It has had a new master brake cylinder but one of the few aftermarket ones which actually fit the bulkhead on this (it retails for £30 on eBay). The headlining is actually in good condition. It's yellowed possibly from smoking, but the glue also melts and saps through over time turning into the yellow/orange colour seen here. The fuse unit on this is also missing its cover, but they are available from Lucas for less than £10.

Agree this is a very good example well looked after 1964 / 1966 Hillman Super Minx mark 3 1592cc.The Mark 4 got the 1725cc engine looked the same as the 3 with larger windows flat roof line
and single lens oval tail lights.
The 64 mark 2 and earlier had the 50s style curved rear window curved roof line and depending on the model some had triple tail lights on each side.
    These were assembled in NZ.
The plates are Not always a good guide in determining the model age etc.
I had one similar to this a 1966 mark 4 with the 1725 with cast lron head engine with badges on the front wings to verify this just in front of the doors and front disc brakes.
l had it 5 years 1977 to 1982 in New Zealand. It was one of the best British cars lve had. No rust. Sold it to my sister and she also got a good run out of it apart from getting stolen a few times by young Joy riders in Wellington .but aways got it back
If l had of known about Hunters l should have kept it
Its replacement was a 1974 Hillman Hunter 1725 GL alloy head although more lively was truly terrible in every way. Also had a 67 Singer (Hunter ) Vogue with identical problems.
The engine ovaled the bores and ate piston rings had to do an engine rebuild every 60K miles also the crank shaft thrust plates dropped out and fell into the sump. Noticed at the crankshaft pulley floating back and forth excessively.
The front suspension Macpherson struts would not stay in alignment because of the light cheap way it was engineered / built.
The super Minx was better had a stronger front end with double wish bones and a heavier anti roll bar and handled better than the Hunter which was mushy in comparison.
It was the last British car l owned then 1978 Toyota Corona and 6 Subaru 4wds since.
Japanese cars were far superior in evey
    way.

Beautiful car, I've a 1963 hillman husky mk2, great fun spinning around in it, good luck with your superminx.

    The car is VERY beautiful.
In my opinion, Rootes was at its finest in 1996/1967. But its decline after that was very swift.

Also agree 1966 was the last superminx was the best year l had one. 1725 C l head
1967 was the birth of the Hunter truely terrible in every way had 67 Singer Vogue (Hunter) and a 74 Hunter GL a sucker for punishment- they were much cheaper for the reasons l have given below couldn't afford a Toyota or Subaru then.see my earlier post for details

They DO look like a Triumph 200, in the mark 2 version, that doesn't have a wrap-around rear window!

To His example. I bet the truck version looked nice too! That is where some companies were stupid. They didn't sell the truck everywhere! Like Vauxhall's beautiful E series in the 1950's!
