      I think it would have some trouble with that, I would think some short channel iron with snowmobile ice studs bolting them to the outside would make it work really well.

    That's quite cool, well thought out and a nice prototype, I'd add some scraper bar to remove /divert the snow buildup from the tyres running inside the tracks. But some cool ideas there great instructional gesture video too.

    hello Jola sad to see so many disrespectful know it alls that have never done anything disrespect you, my friendly suggestion is to shorten your square tubing so that the trailing tire is only about 2in, or cm, so that will lower the leverage on your rack and shock assembly, then wrap something around the tires and this will give you the diameter of the tire you need to make your track from, also the square tubing used for idler wheels should be telescopic so you can add or lower the pressure on tracks will also allow you to change tires, tracks, and change track length if you change out tires used for tracks. Very cool idea, keep up the good work. PS i`m an old retired mechanic welder.

      Thanks Marnie. I have plans to continue my project that is not finished yet. I have renovated a house, and have not had time to complete the Atv tracks. I appreciate tips and tricks from creative people like you. It makes me happy.
      And to all the negativ people, they should read this. "Any idiot can criticize, condemn and complain. And most do".
      Anyway Marnie thanks again and a happy new year.

    Wonderful! Ingenious! I already have a Polaris 6x6, but I see that I could make my own tracks for the rear wheels (without the welded frame). Thank you.

      yes you have an advantage everything is ready. just make the tracks. Put on the tracks with no air pressure in the rear wheels. Then pump air in the rear wheels to tension the tracks. Thank's for watching.

    Ingenuity ; I would prob weld an All thread in place of the Ratchet strap then Built a Cart platform for firewood fetching w chainsaw holder for on top or a Log skidder mod built off the tail end .
    To control any sway if that's an issue 2 strut cartridges can be welded in or coil over along the Bracing to axle .
    I will say what you have done thus far is Superb 🤓Noice 👍
    Cheap & Functional
    That's using ur Noggin 😆

    At the tread joins I'd use a pair of hinges, with the pin roll facing outwards into a gap or notches at the tread ends. Round all edges of the hinges so they don't cut the tires. Instead of a ratchet strap for tension, a length of ACME threaded rod and a nut would make a more robust adjustment. A grease zerk on the nut would keep it from rusting to the rod. A cargo box mounted to the tag axle would be useful.

    You should reinforce the rack, because it's not made to have that kind of tension pulling and pushing on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks after awhile.

      VAAL24 - Hans van Wyk I dont really think will help that much cuz there is no weight in the track unlike an actual track meant for atv’s when most of the weight is on the actual track and not the wheel but it might help for like hill climbing or a wheelie bar

  • @dirtrider88
    @dirtrider88 5 лет назад +6

    a regular quad with 4wd would have preformed just as well. heck even 2wd with half decent tires would have handled that snow just as well.

  • @lmcclellan
    @lmcclellan 4 года назад +2

    Split the tires down the length in the center of the tread and use rubber straps and bolts to bolt back together, this will create lateral treads the length of the "track" as well as leaving full height sidewalls to help prevent elements from entering the "roller" area of the tread. Then use vulcanizing rubber cement to glue a spliced innertube inside the resulting track to prevent tire damage from the mending bolts. Also you could add screw's to the tread of the track for added grip.

    • @chriswf
      @chriswf 2 года назад

    очень сомнительное приспособление, и вряд ли жизнеспособное. 1. на самую заднюю ось нагрузка 0, думаю что вывесить авт за зад , просто поломает эту хлипкую конструкцию. 2. передние колеса в снегу ваще не АЙС , как минимум лыжи.
    афтор, проедь по снегу в 50 см... я прям вижу как этот прецеп отваливается....

    Здравствуйте уважаемый, молодец, нет слов. Во первых ваш мотовездехох)) не предназначен для такой нагрузки, 2 ходовая сокращает службу, 3 нагрузка на коробку передач, 4 нагрузка на двигатель,. Купили сразу снегоход. Производитель сразу делает нагрузки на все расходные запчасти запасом, но ваша задняя нагрузка даёт 40%на подшипники и на кардан. Цепную передачу можно то есть гусеницы можно ставить и ездить без вопросов если на вашем заднем приводе было ещё задняя ось. Люди забывают, что большую часть нагрузки даёт 30 %, на коробку, это необходимо учитывать, на дальние поездки. Представьте вы проведёте км 100, и ваша коробка загудить, а худшем выйдет из строя. Идея хорошая, но, не для дальних.

    Классная идея, только выхлопа от него - нуль. Во первых увеличил нагрузку на мотор. Во вторых - если ездить по глубокому снегу, то через 10 метров новые "колёса" забьются снегом и в таком режиме через сколько выйдет из строя мотр/сцепление? И долго останутся "колёса" на нужном месте?

      Yes your right there. But in loose snow they will be no good. I think I will try to make lugs. Thank´s for watching

    За идею - лайк,а на практике пользы -ноль,снег сырой и липкий,набьётся внутрь гусянки и будет проскальзывать или вообще слетит,короче непродуманная система.

    Lepiej byś przyczepke zrobił większy pożytek był by z niej.
