very interesting . I appreciate for the elaborate presentation in such a way that everyone will understand. Thanks for using english in explanation. Good
I think it would have some trouble with that, I would think some short channel iron with snowmobile ice studs bolting them to the outside would make it work really well.
That's quite cool, well thought out and a nice prototype, I'd add some scraper bar to remove /divert the snow buildup from the tyres running inside the tracks. But some cool ideas there great instructional gesture video too.
hello Jola sad to see so many disrespectful know it alls that have never done anything disrespect you, my friendly suggestion is to shorten your square tubing so that the trailing tire is only about 2in, or cm, so that will lower the leverage on your rack and shock assembly, then wrap something around the tires and this will give you the diameter of the tire you need to make your track from, also the square tubing used for idler wheels should be telescopic so you can add or lower the pressure on tracks will also allow you to change tires, tracks, and change track length if you change out tires used for tracks. Very cool idea, keep up the good work. PS i`m an old retired mechanic welder.
Thanks Marnie. I have plans to continue my project that is not finished yet. I have renovated a house, and have not had time to complete the Atv tracks. I appreciate tips and tricks from creative people like you. It makes me happy. And to all the negativ people, they should read this. "Any idiot can criticize, condemn and complain. And most do". Anyway Marnie thanks again and a happy new year.
Wonderful! Ingenious! I already have a Polaris 6x6, but I see that I could make my own tracks for the rear wheels (without the welded frame). Thank you.
Thank you very much. yes you have an advantage everything is ready. just make the tracks. Put on the tracks with no air pressure in the rear wheels. Then pump air in the rear wheels to tension the tracks. Thank's for watching.
Ingenuity ; I would prob weld an All thread in place of the Ratchet strap then Built a Cart platform for firewood fetching w chainsaw holder for on top or a Log skidder mod built off the tail end . To control any sway if that's an issue 2 strut cartridges can be welded in or coil over along the Bracing to axle . I will say what you have done thus far is Superb 🤓Noice 👍 Cheap & Functional That's using ur Noggin 😆 Thanks for Sharing ; Sharing is Caring Liked and Saved for others to find and a reminder of How to for myself ; I appreciate ur handy work
At the tread joins I'd use a pair of hinges, with the pin roll facing outwards into a gap or notches at the tread ends. Round all edges of the hinges so they don't cut the tires. Instead of a ratchet strap for tension, a length of ACME threaded rod and a nut would make a more robust adjustment. A grease zerk on the nut would keep it from rusting to the rod. A cargo box mounted to the tag axle would be useful.
He is afraid of Sweden police mafia :D If they catch him he would be fined. You know - Sweden. They are politicaly correct and tolerate murders and rapist but they are afraid to build simple all-terrain bike and try it outside.
You should reinforce the rack, because it's not made to have that kind of tension pulling and pushing on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks after awhile.
AWESOME AND GENIUS IDEA just 1 thing is wrong: the direction of rotation on the tread on the snow tires. Should be opposite, check the marked arrows on sides of tyres, but maybe u cuted it out ;p
either way works, the angles in the tires help to disperse water at speed, so you dont hydroplane as easy, as you can see, he wont be going very fast on these lol
did this make it go slower? was thinking about tracking a thing I have ..... got me thinking about gear ratio..... like did tracks change that? would think the tire would act like a Planetary gear and the track act like a ring gear making it slower.... but with more ugga ugga lol
Thanks for posting the video and the English subtitles! A cracking design concept, I like some of your ideas, not sure about the long term prospects for the track joining system, since making the video can you comment on how well they have lasted. Thanks once again. SR
once the tracks get too much snow inside they will not stay on,we used to cut holes every so far apart with a hole saw and staggered so they would clean the snow while traveling,we built the same thing years ago using tractor tires on pickup truck, use wo master cylinders for help steering
VAAL24 - Hans van Wyk I dont really think will help that much cuz there is no weight in the track unlike an actual track meant for atv’s when most of the weight is on the actual track and not the wheel but it might help for like hill climbing or a wheelie bar
Split the tires down the length in the center of the tread and use rubber straps and bolts to bolt back together, this will create lateral treads the length of the "track" as well as leaving full height sidewalls to help prevent elements from entering the "roller" area of the tread. Then use vulcanizing rubber cement to glue a spliced innertube inside the resulting track to prevent tire damage from the mending bolts. Also you could add screw's to the tread of the track for added grip.
Brilliant design, simple and well thought out. However, I don't know why you'd need it.... for improved traction in snow perhaps? Once the snow gets to the depth in your demo I'll fire up my snowmobile. Cheers
You need to to go a little more faster. And drive threw some deeper snow to know if there going to work good or not . Don't be afraid to go a little faster and in deeper snow.
I use old tires for plenty of projects. I never need more than a plain knife to cut the sidewall, and then sawzall to cut the steelbelts in 5 seconds !
This is a first test. I am still developing. I have a video on my channel using the tracks with my 150cc ATV in 40cm snow. I will update with videos on the tracks next winter. Thank's for watching
I like it...but...what was the purpose in the build...or was it just to kill time and material...I had tracks on my vehicle...and a 105 mm cannon...50 cal and 7.62 machine gun...and a few other toys...LOL nice job...!!!
Sweet with translation love it. You are good! Wish you had my tools, you could really do nice work.I don’t even want to do this but I was mesmerized. if that cargo rack can handle the strain sweet, if if don’t work still sweet! What is this helping you with? Stop the front end from sinking that would be powerful.
Superbra video.
simple yet effective design. Have you thought of making use of the extra space you now have on your ATV, either a seat or some sort of cargo holder. it would double as more weight over the drive wheels(tracks) and more capacity for the vehicle.
Yes you are absolutely right a 50cc had easily gone through that shit. And there are lots of videos on youtube with ATVs that drive in deep snow if you want to see it. Thank's for watching.
Here comes some facts and not speculations. The whole machine weighs about 25kg if it's heavy or not is up to you. Here's a movie when I'm in 40cm snow. ruclips.net/video/Oj-fXnvHBbs/видео.html If it sinks like a brick it's up to you. The only time I had a problem with the "tracks" coming off is real hard turns on asphalt. Thanks for watching.
people just want do know did it made an improvement, i think it needs little more thinking cause front wheels will dig in no matter what and rear wheels will follow, id undrestanded if you put a trailer hitch at end there to distribute the weight of trailer on rear axle and thru that improve traction and so on

This could be applied to all kinds of jobs or recreation and add skis to the front axle for off-trail use. Good explanation and video, thanks...
very interesting . I appreciate for the elaborate presentation in such a way that everyone will understand. Thanks for using english in explanation. Good
That was awesome idea still I would have liked to see it going over Hills and bumps
I think it would have some trouble with that, I would think some short channel iron with snowmobile ice studs bolting them to the outside would make it work really well.

A cool idea but you don't need half tracks to ride down a groomed trail.
I like the that there was no talking, only captions, so it is enjoyable for both languages
Thank you. And thank's for watching.
Wonderful! Ingenious! I already have a Polaris 6x6, but I see that I could make my own tracks for the rear wheels (without the welded frame). Thank you.

Thanks for Sharing ;

Minimalistic and well thought out. Way to go!

He is afraid of Sweden police mafia :D If they catch him he would be fined. You know - Sweden. They are politicaly correct and tolerate murders and rapist but they are afraid to build simple all-terrain bike and try it outside.

This is an awesome idea. It is easy to put on and take off once it is manufactured.
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
can you test it crossing a little trench or over logs and other obstacles?? i want to see if it bends to the sides with suspension. thank you
Very very cool! I live in Michigan USA. I’m building one before winter !!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching.
I was born & raised in the U.P., those tracks won't get you anywhere without some deep cleats on them. Very inventive setup though.
You should have used a piece of tire on the inside to bolt the two tires together, because eventually those duct straps are going to break.
yea he should use tire but top of it use duct strap and bottom
Lol went down a drive way.:.: we wanna see you blast through the snow then we will build one...
Username checks out
AWESOME AND GENIUS IDEA
just 1 thing is wrong: the direction of rotation on the tread on the snow tires. Should be opposite, check the marked arrows on sides of tyres, but maybe u cuted it out ;p
either way works, the angles in the tires help to disperse water at speed, so you dont hydroplane as easy, as you can see, he wont be going very fast on these lol
Are you driving in 2 or 4 wheel drive ?
Two
Smart! So much surface area
did this make it go slower? was thinking about tracking a thing I have ..... got me thinking about gear ratio..... like did tracks change that? would think the tire would act like a Planetary gear and the track act like a ring gear making it slower.... but with more ugga ugga lol
I would think that an ATV would be plenty capable in snow with just 4 tires, is there some gain from doing this?
Cool idea, but try putting sharp bolts on that big track that you ve made and try putting weight on the back so that you will have more grip
Thanks for posting the video and the English subtitles! A cracking design concept, I like some of your ideas, not sure about the long term prospects for the track joining system, since making the video can you comment on how well they have lasted. Thanks once again. SR
Hello since I built those I have not had time to test them for a longer period. So the anser is that I don't now. But thank's for watching.
once the tracks get too much snow inside they will not stay on,we used to cut holes every so far apart with a hole saw and staggered so they would clean the snow while traveling,we built the same thing years ago using tractor tires on pickup truck, use wo master cylinders for help steering
Great place for a box in the rear for hauling firewood n stuff.
Does this actually help with the traction of the vehicle? Is the vehicle better off-road with the added track?
VAAL24 - Hans van Wyk I dont really think will help that much cuz there is no weight in the track unlike an actual track meant for atv’s when most of the weight is on the actual track and not the wheel but it might help for like hill climbing or a wheelie bar
Very Cool.....This would be great for ice fishing here in Canada
would it make sense to add a bit of weight to far back axle to get more even distribution of weight along new track?
Hi, can I use part of your video to my compilation of the most interesting inventions ?
Yes
Nice idea, but if he'd go through deep snow, the tracks would fill up making the tracks come off. That's why you don't find side skirts on tracks...
a regular quad with 4wd would have preformed just as well. heck even 2wd with half decent tires would have handled that snow just as well.
What's the benefit of the cuts down the length of the tire? I'm a little confused by that comment.
But does it actually offer improved Traction? The back ones aren't under the vehicle. it is already 4x4...
Brilliant design, simple and well thought out. However, I don't know why you'd need it.... for improved traction in snow perhaps? Once the snow gets to the depth in your demo I'll fire up my snowmobile. Cheers
I am gonna try to convert my little 150cc ATV to a snowmobile for the kids. I sold my real snowmobile last year. Thank´s for watching.
Very ingenious solution, but to drive through 2" of Snow?
cool idea. now i just need an ATV :D
Thank you for watching
Jill, love your projects, you always do a great job. Thx so much for sharing. Wink
Great intuitivnes, what is the ATV like in deep snow with your build
You need to to go a little more faster. And drive threw some deeper snow to know if there going to work good or not . Don't be afraid to go a little faster and in deeper snow.
You always want it deeper and faster don’t you
ha ha ha ha now thats funny
good idea
Na sniegu dwojka i ogien :)
Nice concept and design. I hope we can see updates.
Wow it can drive on flat ground with hardly any snow
Wow yet another comment that does not perform any function.
I use old tires for plenty of projects. I never need more than a plain knife to cut the sidewall, and then sawzall to cut the steelbelts in 5 seconds !
These tires are probably reinforced with steel wire.
Careful w a cut off wheel ; I have a 4" Scar & miss my artery by 1 cm
The built in Clutch Failed 😔
Bra gjort
Tack tack.

Cool project! I think you would like to see my homemade 49cc RC car 😀
nice airplane you got yhere bud
Superbra video.

Hello and thank's. Yes i have plans to build a cargo holder when I get the time. Thank's for watching.
COOL
Jigsaw with acrylic blade works well!
Not sure how to translate to German.
Unless it works in deep snow , a complete waste of time
It sounds to me like it has added a lot of load to the engine
It did
👍
BOOOOOOOORING!!! Get in the deep snow!
jeremy goodwin yea really , a 50cc 2wheel drive kids atv will go threw the shit hes driving in no problem
Yes you are absolutely right a 50cc had easily gone through that shit. And there are lots of videos on youtube with ATVs that drive in deep snow if you want to see it. Thank's for watching.

we had 90cm of snow at most this Winter. I don´t know if you russians Think that is much or not? Thanks for watching.
I would think that would alter the gear ratio between the front and rear causing differential damage.
Sawzall, useful for removing the tires.
Put that in some real snow for a test. My old 2x4 would go through that little bit of snow.
A GROOMED TRAIL AT 2 mph ??
Your Tracks were backwards! You cut up directional winters.
Climb a Hill??
Add a rack for extra hauling and you'll have the perfect machine
U should put spikes around the hole tire ud get mad grip
Hello. I got some ideas. I will continue later this year. Thank's for watching.

Во первых ваш мотовездехох)) не предназначен для такой нагрузки, 2 ходовая сокращает службу, 3 нагрузка на коробку передач, 4 нагрузка на двигатель,. that back rack is attached to plastic won't that break
The back rack is attached to the steel frame. Thank´s for watching.
no, the rack bolts go into a metal frame on the atv
Awesome work!
put bolts through the tred like studs would give it a ton of traction
Yes your right there. But in loose snow they will be no good. I think I will try to make lugs. Thank´s for watching
Lepiej byś przyczepke zrobił większy pożytek był by z niej.

I do not think I claimed in the video that this was a new and groundbreaking invention? Thank's for watching.
Bravo....
Thak you very much.
couldn't it make it up and down the driveway before?? it looks like you did a good job but for what??
