I'm sure it's purely coincidental that in all his videos when he is rummaging thru his stock pile of parts that whatever he needs, he not only has it but if it's 2 or 4 or 8, he has the exact number and they are always neatly in the same place. Good job and it was simple, your kids are fortunate to have an incentive and thoughtful dad

What a cool video! It’s nice to see other “like minded” people in different parts of the world doing things that I love doing myself. I especially like how organized your shop is. The only change I would make to this machine would be to install a proportional speed controller and to mount it forward so it could be controlled by the right foot. This would allow variable speed control as well as steering correction without having to stop the machine to do so. Your son is very lucky to have a father like you.

Your shed/basement will fill with these items the more you build stuff. Ask to people give you broken/faulty items they no longer need. Tear out the motors, switches, fuses, wheels whatever is suitable for your type of making separate them into categories put them appropriate boxes and over time you’ll find you’ve amassed these “bits & bobs”. You might find you’ll a need bigger shed if you need a bigger basement checkout Colin Furze on RUclips. Some people will tell it’s rubbish/junk. It’s not rubbish/junk, it’s spares/parts/stock. Ignore them they no nothing.

All direction and speed controls should be in BOTH joysticks so that you can drive with one hand on either joystick!!!
You should not have to keep flipping switches while you're driving it.
And those joysticks should have better functionality just like a skid steer loader!!!
Hopefully that thing will pull a small utility trailer. 😀
