As a grandfather helping or rather teaching my grandsons the right way to build a go kart, you have given me more food for thought and something for me to build. Keep up the good work. And ya don't need to buy new stuff, just take time looking in the scrap bin!
your kid is lucky to have a Dad like you. I enjoyed watching the process and the smiles on both of your faces at key "test" points in the project. I will bet any science projects for school exceed expectations. Reminded me of when mine were young and the fun we had.
Daniel, all I can say is that you are one amazing guy, the ideas and things you come up with are nothing but amazing and your daughter must have lots of fun hanging out with you as my daughter used to do.
Bro that's my favourite thing to do scrap bin scavenging or the council collections😍 picking up random pieces of steel engines and everything else its amazing what people throw away I love Laser cutters scrap bins have some wicked bits in them always a lot of nice perfect circles in different sizes and materials that come in handy all the time and im also a shirtless at the most in a singlet type of welder as well😄
@@AtimatikArmy my boss was whinging about it saying that shouldn’t have been in there , in saying that we turn over a lot of steel at work and small lengths under a metre sit around for ages then eventually get thrown away
Tanks for another good vid,u could make it modular so ya can have a normal front end like a buggy but since ya got a chargin system on it u could mount some low power led lights on it like 2 x 10w
how many faceplant before you nailed the last shot? And another cool project from dk, allways nice to watch. You are the guy doing it on the budget that i could work wiht as wel, unlike most youtubers who just order some new tracks, a truckload of steel and all that just for a project.
Watching as typing... the second I saw that hole pattern slightly off on that brake disc I immediately thought "just drill them bigger" and a second later that's exactly what you did, haha love it! it will be pretty accurate with those pilot holes already drilled but most importantly, the quickest!
Made the mistake of watching this with my 9 year old twin boys... Next question was.. Dad.. you know the old lawnmower round the back.... The rest you can guess!!! Just wish we had your weather!!! It might take us a while longer...😁
Just work on your proportions a little better. The tracks might look way to small. It's like u and collin have a direct link into my brain😂 been thinking about a mini tank since I was 10
some pre drilled holes on the front angle so you can lock the tension in place with quick pins after tightening with the turnbuckles. so the turnbuckles dont take the load might prevent a failure. otherwise im jealous af and need to do cooler shit on my vids obviously lmao

I think it is just as easy as building a go kart but something a bit different!
50secons in and the amount of smiles and giggles out of your girl is insane. Good stuff

Thanks I hope it works out and drives well
Tank girl would be proud! Excellent stuff chief!
Cool as hell. I think the grass-roots approach makes this way more interesting to watch than a huge budget build like Furze
LOL - RUclips safety officers. You do good stuff. You give the kids a real education.
Thanks👍
The ideas just keep getting better and better. Sumhow I dont see the kids getting too much seat time tho.........
They will probably drive it once then it will be my turn until it breaks!
I can't wait to see the finished product... Great job 👍👍👍👍👍
Love your welding/safety slippers! I lathe and mill in my Safety crocks! Cheers!
Nothing wrong with safety crocs
Daniel, all I can say is that you are one amazing guy, the ideas and things you come up with are nothing but amazing and your daughter must have lots of fun hanging out with you as my daughter used to do.
Thanks! I enjoy it too

yeah free stuff is great, and being free of that restrictive clothing when trying to weld
I am glad I found your channel. Had to subscribe. I love to watch people make wild machines!
Loool great idea! Cant wait to see it done!👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks mate ! Looking forward to your next project too , actually what are you working on ? Give me a clue
Yip I'm also wondering what your next build is! You nailed it with your kz tractor!
@@DktheWelder its somewhat inspired by you, it goes on water, very fast😁
your channel is awesome every build you do is interesting and fun to watch
Looks rad!! I love how you use whatever you can find!!! Need to find you some larger tractor tires to cut up
I did originally want bigger tires but the shorter tracks will be easier to steer with the little lawn mower diff
Awesome to see you wear the same safety jandals I do too 🤙
Right on
I wish you were my dad. This is great. I predict this series will get a lot of views
Thanks, I have some cool ideas for it !
That's an impressive scrap bin! I'm jealous!
Haha I look in it nearly ever day to see if there is treasure in there!
I've been researching that diff for a project. If you put a belt tensioning pulley with a clutch it will help with gear changes on the move.
I wanna know who throws a nice clean chunk of hefty box tubing like that in the scrap bin!
@@AtimatikArmy my boss was whinging about it saying that shouldn’t have been in there , in saying that we turn over a lot of steel at work and small lengths under a metre sit around for ages then eventually get thrown away
@@DktheWelder Yeah, to me valuable, sitting around the shop for ages, not really a significant length... another story.
I love watching your videos. MORE MORE MORE MORE.
More to come!
Keep building this interesting stuff and I'll watch
Man your working fast big fella!!
It is a lot of work but kinda a simple build really
Nice!
Thanks 👍
Stick welding out of a tig torch. You sir have my respect
Haha it works well and you get the high frequency start too no more scratch start
Wicked bro, keep on keepin on!
That thing looks cool!
_COOL, BUT WHAT DO YOU USE IT FOR?_
Very cool video. Hope to see your channel grow in the future.
Looks sick man, something I wanna make now
It is actually a pretty simple build!
You are an inspiration sir.
great job mate i dont know who will enjoy this more you or your kids keep up the great work 👍👍
Hopefully the kids show some interest!
Bloody champion mate
I love tracked machines, I'm building a set now for an Argo. Can't wait to see how this shapes up, what a buggy!
I have always wanted to build one hope it works!
This will be epic when it's finished!!!
It is nearly finished check the newer videos! Could take it your place and put it to work haha
I think u need to splice two of those tires together to make one track
Enjoyed the video, keep them coming 👍👍
Off to a good start.
another good vid. 😎
Colin can keep his Yorkshire tea; I'd much rather a good ole kiwi lion red any day anyway
Haha👍
In my opinion it looks like the track should be longer/axles further apart. Love it though will be cool toy for the kids
It would be way cooler with a longer track but should be able to steer easier like it is as I’m only using a mower gearbox and diff
@@DktheWelder makes sense , easier on the running gear
Looking great. How are you going to make it watertight I wonder 🤔 OK maybe not this time. Keep them coming.
It has crossed my mind!
Make a removable tray over the motor to carry a swag and fuel and then have a frame over your head with a bit of sheet on-top to keep some sun off ya
Tanks for another good vid,u could make it modular so ya can have a normal front end like a buggy but since ya got a chargin system on it u could mount some low power led lights on it like 2 x 10w
Yes I have thinking about that 👍

I actually got it first try I used to be pretty agile getting a bit old now, it I definitely much harder building things from junk!
Madman 👍👏👏
Awesome video, but please do something with the hair so the saw doesn't catch it
Keep at it bro
welding in the chinese safety boots, love it lol
I don't think you will get a WOF with that tread depth on the tracks though, only problem I can see
So awesome! I can't wait for the next video 👌🤙
Dude, you are a fricken mad man!! Love it though! I'm getting sick of California, maybe New Zealand is where it's at...
Watching as typing... the second I saw that hole pattern slightly off on that brake disc I immediately thought "just drill them bigger" and a second later that's exactly what you did, haha love it! it will be pretty accurate with those pilot holes already drilled but most importantly, the quickest!
New Zealand is a pretty cool place ! Thanks
@@DktheWelder yeah go the south island!
@@PatonMachines South island huh?! Don't know shit about New Zealand but seams you guys live a pretty chill, happy life, always having fun!
@@AtimatikArmy yea, we call it the Mainland :)

Those turn buckles arnt very strong, just brittle cast crap
I hope they don’t snap, I will do a lot of testing at home before I take it into the bush
@@DktheWelder cheers from otago
Well that sucks I wanted to see it finished
some pre drilled holes on the front angle so you can lock the tension in place with quick pins after tightening with the turnbuckles. so the turnbuckles dont take the load might prevent a failure. otherwise im jealous af and need to do cooler shit on my vids obviously lmao
I think I need to do something about the turn buckle setup , another person said they might be too weak too
@@DktheWelder yea not meant for much "shock" force being how they're manufactured, i believe i saw the same comment you're referring to. cant lie lol
Good
name change?
Yes I just think my last name is hard to pronounce and I like dk the welder name too
fk yeah
thats not a tank... its a tonk
